I think Survivor series of 2016 Was Way better than 2017 in the city of Toronto. It was really nice because there was a lot of matches and if I had to pick which one would be my favourite my favourite match would be Goldberg versus Brock Lesnar it was like a dream match WWE could’ve done in the 2000s!
It had soo much potential with the star power alone. We finally got HHH vs Bobby Roode, a match I've wanted to see since 2006/2007 and we got Cena, Angle and Samoa Joe in the same match. The history between those 3 men alone is fascinating.
The fact that Edge Vs. Kane was Edge’s final Survivor Series match is baffling. He didn’t even get a chance to wrestle at a Survivor Series during his second run in WWE in the 2020s.
Survivor Series 2016 and 2019 were my definite favorites during this era. The return of SmackDown Vs Raw 5v5 Elimination Tag Matches in 2016 was super cool to see. SVR is always a blast and seeing WWE care for the brand split again at the time was just incredible. And then 2019 was just hype overload. NXT being added (back when NXT was at its best), and now it was SmackDown Vs Raw Vs NXT, it was just awesomeness throughout. Many great matches throughout, and overall, it reminds me and my brother of better, fun times😌. Heres hoping after this year’s show, and after the success of last year’s show, Survivor Series can be a top tier event once again.🤞🙏
Crazy to think how 3 of the women on the "developmental brand" women's team (Rhea, Toni, Io) are now the top three women in wrestling by pecking order standards
Late 2009 - Early 2010 holds a special place in my heart bc it was the first time i was able watch anything WWE, bc we wasn't able to afford cable. But me personally i loved Edge vs Kane feud in 2010.
I have to say that survivor series 2016 was definitely the best one from the 2010s. A good consistent show, but the 1 hour raw vs smackdown match and Goldberg defeating Brock in less than 90 seconds makes this show in my top 5 survivor series.
And seeing Survivor Series through the years again, reminds me how WWE be year by year. You saying 2016 Show was the best is why I think 2016 the year of the decade for WWE. It wasn't perfect from January to December, but the improvement of that year and seeing Survivor Series 2016. I actually miss mid 2010s somewhat underrated time period.
@@WrestlingFacewdym Vince has always been a up and down hell until attuned era he was on a losing streak so bad the company almost went back to territories
Smack down vs Raw isnt a bad identity at all you can literally incorporate war games into it…. It’s legit a solid idea Expecially with the brand split, drafts or superstar shakeups would make so much sense plus battles between the GMs
For some reason, I remembered AJ being after Bryan in terms of facing Brock, so the fact that Bryan surpassed AJ shocks me. I think where Bryan gets the edge is he was a heel that played the underdog role so well that he went face during the match. If you also look at Lesnar’s face at the end of the match, he legit looks like he didn’t expect Bryan to legit be that stiff and physical. Bryan is very willing and capable of dishing it out as much as he takes, for better or worse.
I think 2019 also featured NXT and pushed them so seriously that Survivor Series was also due to AEW’s inaugural year. That was when WWE was hotshot booking the B&G era of NXT and making it the “third brand”. I’d argue with hindsight this was clear defining moment that the NXT totally jumped the shark and was not developmental at all.
The best Survivor series would be from the one that was 20 years ago team Bishoff vs team Steve Austin was epic. My favourite part of the match was when Stone Cold Steve Austin gave a stutter to Eric Bischoff.
Still sad about how wwe treated dolph. He definitely should've been a main eventer after that team cena vs authority match. Hope that Dolph joins aew soon unless tony plans to treat him like wwe did and have him job every match and stay on the midcard.
2010 was the first and only PPV my parents got me as a kid. I told them I couldn't live with myself if John Cena was fired and I never saw him again and that did the trick. I don't remember much about the card except the finish to Kane vs Edge and John Cena's Mark Henry-esque departure from that arena. So cool to be able to relive it through these videos.
I was at survivor series 2014. It was a banger show even though i 100% forgot about adam rose and the damn bunny. But that main event was fantastic. Fun fact that ppv almost got moved to Kansas City because of the Ferguson riots that happened in St.Louis, 15 year old me would’ve been so upset.
It was a pretty interesting decade of Survivor Series events, 2016, 2018 and 2019 were the best ones from the revived SVR to SmackDown VS RAW VS NXT pretty interesting era of the decade and there are so many great matches. & Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar is arguably one of the most shocking main events when Goldberg hit 2 spears and the jackhammer to Brock Lesnar to win the match in a minute and 26 seconds. 2011-2012 especially, That era was an interesting one, from the beginning of CM Punk's 434-day WWE title reign to the debut of The Shield.

I figured out how to stream PPVs for free, and that Survivor Series was the first time I got to watch one in real time. Looking back at it, safe to say that it is kind of mid at best without the Ziggler 3-1 comeback, but still. I had a blast watching it. Crazy how much a banger of a PPV main event can save the show.
Just like you, I'm bias towards the AJ and Brock match @ SS '17 because I was there live for that show as well as NXT: WarGames the night before. And yes, I 100% agree that as star studded as the main event was for that very same show, it was a f'ing crime how underwhelming after the entrances.😊
Is okay to be bias about the event. Because watching a good PPV/PLE or any show is one thing. But being at the event gives you pride in a "wher were you when this happens" moment. Beings at the event to see it in person help more than just watching it.
I rewatched the 2017 Survivor Series Main Event and i actually liked it more than I did when I first watched it Granted, I do still think the 2016 Raw VS SmackDown men’s match was better Overall I think the biggest flaw that the Raw VS SmackDown 2017 main event had was that the build to it with the Raw under siege and Smackdown under siege segments were more epic than the match itself And yeah, Triple H and Shane hogging the spotlight was unnecessary
Survivor Series 2011 was the beginning of CM Punk's legendary 2nd and 434 day reign as WWE Champion, and then the next Survivor Series year, it was the birth of The Shield and CM Punk reaches one full year as WWE Champion of his 434 day reign. Those were true facts. If this is the PG era, and when I take a look back at the WWE from 2011-2013, CM Punk would've been my guy.
