To see him not here first time up would be a shame as you can see in some of the comments below. I just think it's bad form. Gavin's website will never compete with the RP ffs so there's no competition. I just think DJ could have said something along the lines of 'Gavin will be missed but we got a brilliant replacment in...". They didn't even mention anything about him.

I was fully prepared to not enjoy the show when I saw Gavin Lynch had left but Johnny is actually a great replacement. Certainly a much better replacement than the “upgraded” Racing Post app… 🙄🔫

If anything Gavin's stock rose as the show did so perhaps it was the other way around with Gavin creating the fame, only time will tell - give the new guy a chance and lets see if he will last 5 years

This man Johnny was the biggest layer at Irish racing a few years ago and when he decided to bet one it won,then the exchanges came and ruined it for everyone.

In terms of this presentation Gavin Lynch was different class to the new guy. Did he want too much money? I didn't see Impervious but she started last season well before fading away so could the same happen again? I didn't think either Thyme Hill or American Mike were impressive. The long absent second travelled better than American Mike before fading away. My eyecatcher would be La Malmason.
Gerry Hannon is the worst race caller out , he cant be bothered calling out the placed horse , more interested in a cliche as the horse are going by the line , especailly as bookies are paying out first five and six in those handicaps .
Proof in the pudding will be after the festival results. Is a 5/1 winner better than a 20/1 loser ?? Let's see how Johnny does because let's be fair , Gavin talked the talk but didn't walk the walk....

That’s my concern… If Thyme Hill were trained by Elliott, Mullins or even Henderson it’d be pretty close to a certainty.
