The Acid Jazz scene was a revitalising moment for music back in the 90s. TBNHs are sooooooo underated in the UK it is unreal. Me, my best mate and his Older Brother Matt were Jamiroquai fans back in the 90s. Matt lent me his Brother Sister album for a week.......for the younger reader, a CD was sacred back in the day. CD was returned scratch free and i saved up my dinner money for a couple of weeks to buy this superb album. What a song, what a tight and super cool band!
I have never heard this song until 2023 riding in a car with a friend while visiting Saudi Arabia!! It’s a song that got stuck in our head as we drove through the desert! Apparently it’s a remake from the 70’s so if you enjoy the hippie version or this new jazzy version, pretty sure you’ll be bobbing your head either way!

I bought a new Kenwood hifi in 1994. It took me an afternoon to lay all the speaker wire, and I wouldn't turn it on until it was all set. The very first cd I put in was this. I will never forget.. the volume was set waaaay too high, and the first thing I (and the rest of the street) heard was the opening line at 2000 decibels. 😀This always takes me back to that day.
I was gonna hate this version since the song was done right the first time -- but, I like this version! Great singing, chords and feel. I really appreciate the solo not trying to compete with the guitar work on the original (same with the guitar track throughout the recording).
It seems a lot harder to understand the words on this than on the original version. Those were very clear, and a very important part of the whole song.
