    Did you have to release the park brake first? This will be my first time changing brakes pads all the way around.

    My rear piston refuses to fully seat. So irritated..had to put old pads back in and order a proper tool. Front were EZ and the EBC pads are great. Thanks for the walk thru. I though I did something wrong, but piston fully seated with old pads and emergency brake work. To be continued..

    Because you had a lot more inboard were you might consider removing the mounting saddle cleaning and-regressing that pin because it slides it hangs up causing the inboard to stay in contact with the rotor otherwise this is a great video for the first timer I own a Spyder RT SE6 Limited Ride safe

      I do install my pads dry. Maybe its time to use a little synthetic grease smell like I would on a car

    How often are you running through a set of these EBC brake pads? Are you going by mileage or how long they've been installed? Do you measure them down to the 1mm minimum. Just curious as a new Spyder owner.

      @spyderryder  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry for the response! I get about 20k miles out of a set witch is not quite a year of riding. Must of the time I dont catch them at 1mm just because the among of miles I put on the poor spyder.

    I've gotten into the habit of always using Loc-tite on any bolt that I remove on my Spyder.

    • @spyderryder

  • @ChipperGouin

    I kinda figgered that putting them back onto the rotor would be a lil pain...

      +BrianBarb Sutton thank you for watching to be honest that is the hardest part. The brakes on the spyder are nice and easy to do!

    How often do you flush the brake fluid?

    • @spyderryder
      @spyderryder  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You should do it every 2 years.

    • @opichocal
      @opichocal 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Greatrydes thanks! I’ll be flushing mine soon. We just got home from a 500 mile ride today. We Road with about 20 dual sport bikes and my spyder has never been so dirty! It was a blast

      @@opichocal it sounds like a nice trip. With it being winter in Ohio my rides are down to 50 miles or so. Enjoy your spyder and stay safe

    What did you do to seat the new rear pads in?

    • @spyderryder
      @spyderryder  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Im just easy for the first handful of stops. After a couple firm stops from around 45 miles per hour.

  • @FPVeyes

    Did you have the brakes on or off

    • @spyderryder
      @spyderryder  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I had the park brake off. Then I removed the caliper removed the pads turned the piston in and reversed to the process. Does that answer your question?

    After all the problems I've heard about with Can-Am spiders I've decided to go with an American-made motorcycle. the only American-made Cafe motorcycle. what might that be. can anyone guess.

    • @spyderryder
      @spyderryder  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Pat Lowney I think Cleveland Cycles makes a little cafe!

      Greatrydes the word I was looking for his name is Eric and his last name is Buell. I've been riding motorcycles since I was 14 years old. I recently sold my Goldwing I've had 19 different motorcycles over the years. I'm done with those big heavy road bikes on long trips they cause you to get fatigued. So my next one's going to be a Buell. Which is a product of Harley-Davidson. Not all of the Buell models have the V-twin engine. The best models they have are the ones with the Sportster engine.

    • @spyderryder
      @spyderryder  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Pat Lowney EBR / Buell are very cool little bikes. You don't see to many of them around. I think they look great and they are very compact!

    • @patlowney2834
      @patlowney2834 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Greatrydes yeah I'm thinking the buell are cool because then you can blend in with the cafe crowd and they like it and then Harley guys like it too because you got a Harley motor . And I'd like to take a trip up Highway 1 on the coast of California. And the buell would be a perfect bike to do that on. Like to go up to Fort Bragg of never been there. There's a place called Glass Beach up there. Saw a documentary about it on TV. Would like to go see the place for myself. And Buell performs very well in the mountains.

      +Pat Lowney it sounds like an amazing ride. Highway 1 is in my bucket list and I hope to do it one day.
