The website says 0-34 mph in 3 seconds. There isn't a chance this would even come close to that. That would make it WAY faster than a Road Runner Pro. Even faster than a Wolf King GT (which is what I ride). That being said: rear suspension, 52v, dual motor, dual 20 ah batteries for $1,800 is a really good value.
Yeah I don't think it's 3 seconds but it does accelerate faster than any other that I've reviewed. And as you say the value of this bike is crazy good.

I reckon that as far as the future of electric 2 wheelers, bicycle technology rather than motorcycle technology is the way to go. Effectively, these more powerful bikes are electric mopeds, and early mopeds were much more like bicycles than full-on motorcycles. The Maeving electric motorcycle has gone the route of trying hard to look like a traditional motorcycle, so consequently, for the performance it achieves, it is very heavy and very expensive (£5-6k!). These days, with disc brakes, suspension forks and fat tyres, bicycles are approaching low powered motorcycles in terms of technology and capability. I remember when Honda started developing 50cc racing motorcycles they used bicycle-type rim brakes! As regards the legality and legislation, it's going to take a while for things to catch up with how things are developing in the real world and on real roads.
@@e-VRC I've come from touring, commuting and racing regular bikes, having a 50cc scooter and ending up with a cargo e-bike. I've watched with interest the growth of the e-bike scene, and I reckon the type of electric motorcycle that Maeving are making is a dead end - too heavy, way too expensive, too much motorcycle tech and too much focussed on the image of pretending to be a retro-stye motorcycle. My other observation about mopeds and 50cc scooters is that in Europe they are pretty well regarded as the sort of thing that every household has, handy for any member of the family to nip down the shops or the cafe. In the UK mopeds and bicycles were often derided as a bit of a joke, only used by folk who couldn't afford a car so they had a stigma that simply doesn't exist in places like Italy, Netherlands, France etc. These days, in the Netherlands e-bikes have overtaken trad bike sales for a few years now.
Probably the first ebike I'd almost feel guilty about not registering it as road legal it's so quick. Luckily for me all my summer and non summer spending is done so I don't have to worry about which way I would take a spill on this 😂 I wonder if the brake pads are still expensive to replace? I think this may have been an issue last time I saw another review of this bike. Great review as always 👍

Yes... Well... That thing goes rather well doesn't it ? Pity about those tyres though. Still, I dare say more road friendly tyres could be fitted. I get the desire to go fast, but over 27mph with an ebike is generally illegal in the united states and subject to seizure, registration/licensing, fines/tickets, dirty looks on bike/pedistrian trails if your going to fast and seemingly out of control etc. Also, at 30mph + you can get into trouble/danger quickly if you see an object in the roadway last second (if you hit it, more than likely time for a spill, cars not giving you the right away at a intersection, dooring, etc. I do want the 27mph capability going uphill as well as the flats since I live in a hilly area. All level 3 bikes can do the 27mph in the flats but taper off going uphill which probably leverages the over 27mph speed issue to compensate on most ebikes
Literally use it only when absolutely need it, mainly want this due to it having 2 batteries and let’s say you don’t go ballestic and use the bike regularly it will have good use, but if you need to get into traffic for any reason it’s best to have one that has the power to get you out of the way, obviously be safe and check for cops.
Ive also got this bike, love the power but can't get it to go over 31 no matter what I do, other than that it's awesome, I've not seen any Police whilst riding it yet so we'll see what reaction i get when i do eventually bump into them
Another great review of a very interesting bike. It seems really impressive for that price. Well they're both fantastic. The Ridstar is obviously a little more powerful but the Lankeleisi is more refined. If I had only one bike I'd probably choose the Lankeleisi simply because I'd feel less paranoid. If i lived in the sticks and police didn't care I'd probably go with the Ridstar.
@@e-VRC I spent half of my Sunday watching TH-cam to compare these two e-bikes LANKELEISI X3000 MAX and Ridstar Q20 Pro. @@e-VRC E-bikes are no stranger to me. I have had an Engwe Engine pro 1.0 for a year, but it is starting to break down a bit. I don't want to mess around with repairs again, so I decided to go crazy and buy a LANKELEISI because I really like it. I will add that for a year I have not had a problem with being stopped by the police, and I sometimes passed them on my way to work. That is why I chose LANKELEISI because it is similar to the Engwe, and both of these bikes resemble a normal bike, not a motorbike.

Hi great video, i brought this bike via the Ridstar website directly. Can i ask how long this took for your order to arrive? I contacted them and they have told me theres a delay something to do with the batteries.
They had to recall a batch of batteries. At the price of the bike they will be generic/unbranded but that doesn't necessarily mean they're all going to blow up.
@@e-VRC I am just playing but the "doesn't necessarily mean they're all going to blow up" part gives me no confidence whatsoever. Lithium batteries are already dangerous enough as it is. I will only ever buy branded cells. I want to be as safe as I possibly can be. If that means paying a bit extra then so be it. I have seen and heard way too many horror stories to be trying to save a few pound with unbranded batteries that maybe won't explode or set my home on fire. You're right, they are e motorbikes, they should be categorised as such, but they're trying to capture the ebike market but its unfair on buyers as if you live in a city or large town you can bet the local federales will take an interest in it with it looking like a motorcycle and powerful with it. Myself l would be happy for it to be classed as e moped or motorbike, the couple hundred insurance a year woud be worth it for peace of mind that l could ride it without the fear of it being taken from me.
You are going to need to be careful mate. You might need to find an off-road location to test these. Just needs one person to grass you and you will be convicted on these videos alone
Agreed. The battery and motor are no name so that helps. And the dual battery system isn't as refined as on say the Lankeleisi bikes. But still great value.
This is really just an illegal 50cc equivalent, the ebike laws are dumb as hell but this one crosses the line for me. The brakes and tyres are clearly not up to it, try an emergency stop on bicycle brakes from 37mph and see how far you can fly.
Yeah I won't be trying that haha. Already skidding at 18 😬😬 it really doesn't need to go this fast does it. My ideal ebike speed would be 20 but 28 for example is fast enough for anyone on an ebike.
This review is too much about your foolish mistake and not enough about the bike. Admitting mistakes is great but it's just padding the length here. Take a page from tailhappytv, maybe the best reviewer on yt. Concise, edited, same test loop mostly with several tests. The most interesting aspect of this bike for video in the uk is legality. Ride by a few police stations and make it interesting lol. Most won't even consider this bike because of its moto looks. If ridstar gas a problem with that they shouldn't bother with that bike in the UK.
I don't know if you've ever seen my other videos but they are literally as you described. Same test loop with tests along the way. I did consider already what you said about padding etc but I decided that actually this is pretty much 2 bikes. The bike that most people may ride day to day: single motor to save power and have a calmer ride. And the dual motor monster to have some fun. So whilst I was riding with only one motor all the info given was relevant but also gave an impression of 1. How it is with 1 motor and 2. What the Ridstar Q20 (non pro model) would be like. I reckon in a 21 minute video there's maybe an extra 1 minute of video due to my mistake. I.e. me talking about the mistake BEFORE the mistake. And when I talk about it after the mistake is realised, we're seeing the performance of the bike anyway. So yeah I do think about editing and trying to keep things tight (e.g. I don't jabber on in front of the box and give my life story before riding it) but in this I made the conscious decision to shake things up a bit and keep it in for the laughs and to get the contrast of the 2 modes. In result, the retention of this video is much higher than most of my others. It's ok that you weren't keen on it and I know I didn't have to explain myself. But I've just woken up and just lying in bed for a bit and thought 'what the hell let's write it'. I do like tailhappy, I catch his vids from time to time. I probably should make reviews like his they'd be a lot quicker to edit and film. I also like his thumbnails and I often take a look at his for inspiration when I'm considering words to grab attention: He actually has a thumbnail that says 37mph and it seemed to work 👍 anyway thanks for watching and your input I'm always interested in what people think and do take everything on board 🤟👌👍

LANKELEISI X3000 MAX looks more like a regular bike and Ridstar Q20 Pro looks like a motorcycle and may attract the attention of the police I like the performance of Ridstar Q20 Pro more unfortunately because of the appearance of the motorcycle I may get into trouble How to live 😂😂 Maybe you can advise something 😉
Also the Ridstar is 500 ISH cheaper so I may convince myself to have a cool toy to go with it 😂
@@e-VRC I spent half of my Sunday watching TH-cam to compare these two e-bikes LANKELEISI X3000 MAX and Ridstar Q20 Pro. In the evening I had a headache from all this… I had a hard time choosing because I really like both e-bikes. This morning I ordered a gray LANKELEISI X3000 MAX and I hope it was a good choice (I was also influenced by your videos). Thank you mate, you are doing a good job testing e-bikes. Greetings from London 👊🏻
@@Bzik_uk well I'm glad I could help. You'll love the bike 👌👍
Best review yet
Thanks!
Hey I just got my q20 pro today everything working great but I can't seem to get the front motor going, the cable is connected and the switch is on for front motor, plus battery is on, any help?
Erm call me pedantic ( its ok its my middle name 😂 )
But you posted everything working great then say you cant get the front motor going so everything isnt "working " great is it, sorry but ocd about stuff and l cant help myself, no offence.
Are they legal to use in Denmark? : )
Ho, how are you doing? I would love for you to test and review the Akez King Kong! I would appreciate your honest opinion.
How much money?
How do I get both my motors to work??
@@dominickwick2638 turn on both batteries and the switches in this video
Great bike love it. I would buy it but it's too big to put on my motorhome. Ray K UK YNWA.
Yeah it's very big and heavy
I have the same issue with indicators
Glad it's not just me. I tried an escooter this week that actually beeps when indicating. So simple but effective.
@@e-VRC all motorbikes used to be like that back in the 90s but there was little flashing lights on the dash at least
Hi great video, i brought this bike via the Ridstar website directly. Can i ask how long this took for your order to arrive? I contacted them and they have told me theres a delay something to do with the batteries.
They do not even state the brand of batteries used. No brand of motor either. Dodgy purchase.
They had to recall a batch of batteries. At the price of the bike they will be generic/unbranded but that doesn't necessarily mean they're all going to blow up.
@@e-VRC Your message seems just as dodgy as the batteries lol
@@Veganarchy-Zetetic which bit? I was trying to be genuine. Well not trying, just being 😂😅
@@e-VRC I am just playing but the "doesn't necessarily mean they're all going to blow up" part gives me no confidence whatsoever.
My life is worth more to me than a few quid I guess.
I’m still trying to figure out how to activate the front motor 😳
@@Carcajoo121 what have you tried?
Can you use this on UK Roads???
Not legally... But it depends where you live London definitely not, but a small town you wouldnt likely be bothered by the bow street runners.
Whats the top speed of this on gps? I hear people couldn't get it over 30, it's locked in the software. Something like this should go 35 right?
He said 37 with gps but their website states 34.
@@BabyCowGoingmadinafield very nice!
Yeah I had 37 confirmed. I'm heavy too. Brands usually over sell not under.
I’ve got one and I believe it could get up to 35-37 ish, but there seems to be a power limiter wire on mine.
Could this be registered in the UK as an e-moto?
@@davejones8461 it could but it would probably need new tyres and maybe a few other things. Andy Kirby did a good video about getting stuff like this registered.
What brand of batteries and motors used?
*That is a good lookin monster*
🤙🏽⚡️🤟🏽⚡️👌🏽
Agreed 👍🏽
For less than $200 more i could get a Wired Cruiser, it's faster and still looks like a bike so less attention from cops, and has a carrying rack on the back and better suspension 😁
Yeaahh, but not as cool as the Ridstar Q20 pro tho
BEAST OF A BIKE
Why cant they put this kind of power on something more legal looking lol.
The Lankeleisi x3000 and 2000 max are close and look much more legal.
@@e-VRC slightly, I just wish we could have a normal mountain bike frame with like 2.2 inch wide tires. I also don't really like fat tires as there aren't many puncture proof options whereas you can just use marathon plus on a regular bike.
Hi did you ever sell this bike ?
@@tosspot-007 it's long term reserved 😂
@@e-VRC ahhh ok I understand just looking to buy now after watching your review 👍
@@e-VRC is there any other you would say is better/ faster than this ? Thanks in advance
Is The bike legal in the UK or not
not
@@Quickblood1 thanks for your reply
Yeah not
@@e-VRC ok thanks
Wow wow wow 😮 what kind of money u looking at selling this for on ur page as man i would get the train down tomorrow to get this bike off u for a reasonable price but dont know how am getting back but oh well i would have a bad ass bike ❤❤
If you're genuinely interested drop me an email.
@@e-VRC what's Ur email brother ??
Emm it's not really a bicycle.🙈🇬🇧
It doesnt go 37mph. It goes 32mph.
You mean you got up to 32mph, you might be heavier, less competent
Top speed is really 37mph?
Yep. On GPS too. Plus I'm pretty heavy
ebike?
E-Motorbike...really
Its a reason legalisation gonna hit these bikes
That is ridiculous cheap for all you get... How have they done this
Agreed. The battery and motor are no name so that helps. And the dual battery system isn't as refined as on say the Lankeleisi bikes. But still great value.
Just saw a Reddit post about one catching fire after 62 miles so maybe thats how.
@@Veganarchy-Zetetic there was a battery recall I had to get sent 2 more. Maybe they were the bad ones.
@@e-VRC Yeah maybe. Still makes me more and more nervous about having 4 ebikes in an upstairs apartment tho. Scary stuff.
My ideal ebike speed would be 20 but 28 for example is fast enough for anyone on an ebike.
police will see this a mile away not worth it for me i live next to a police station and work at an airport i wouldent have it more than a week 🤣🤣🤣
I'd love to have it registered and use it properly but yeah used regularly could cause problems.
