@@EasternKiFederation hi there I like other aikido styles I don't mean be rude but what do you think of Steven Seagal style of aikido what is the difference between all the aikido styles how are they different from each other I know that tomiki aikido is mixed in with judo but people say that tomiki aikido is not an aikido style but I want to know the differences with other styles I know tenshin style comes in with the attack when punching but yoshinkan style I think is more of an out side style then they catch the punch
Hello, I'm interested ! In the class I see one partner co-operate with another and be thrown; outside of a class will a real aggressor be thrown in such a manner - as he is resisting you & could hardly be said to be co-operating......?
Thank you for your interest! You can find a dojo near you using the link on our channel. To answer your question, we practice respecting our partner's (opponent's) intentions and leading them. During class, yes there is a certain level of co-operation so that we may effectively practice an individual technique, but we do not believe forcing through a technique when someone is not co-operating or trying to alter their attack. Our instructors will show you how techniques have variations, and adjust to deal with different circumstances. In regards to the rolling you might see, this is more for practicing and being thrown safely than it is to demonstrate how someone would look when being thrown in a re-world situation. This is all something your instructor will be able to better show you in person as well! Thank you again and we hope to see you on the mat!
What Sensei means by "lowering the level of violence" is to de-escalate the situation by first staying calm, and then dealing with the situation appropriately. If you are interested in better understanding what we mean, we hope you will check out our website and visit a dojo near you!

@@EasternKiFederation Excellent explanation of why we roll and train the way we do.
You can't lower level of violence,,,only deal with it.
If you are not the one who drives violence, then you are already lowering it.
