    Greg did you notice how you got that bite?(huddleston) I'm sure you did but just in case. It seems like you casted outside the trough into the grassy side and made it seem so natural creeping into the middle of the trough!!! The perfect combo of right bait and right presentation! Hats off

    • @_bassadd1ct_
      @_bassadd1ct_ 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@anti-herofishing it definitely could produce a state record, but why do you think the fish get so big in there?
      Obviously they have trout, crappie, crawfish, and bluegill to feed on, but that forage is present in a lot of places.
      Its good healthy vegetation forsure, lots of ambush points, but that doesnt seem like the reason

    • @anti-herofishing
      @anti-herofishing 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@_bassadd1ct_ I believe it is the oxygen level in the water, the vegetation there never dies unless they drain the water. With all that oxygen I think the fish keep eating year round and they don’t slow down.

    Hey Greg !!! Nice video! Contra Loma is tough, but spring time is decent!!! Gotta time it right though. One day it will be on fire, the very next it could be completely dead. Glad you came out to my home reservoir!!! My profile is actually my PB, which I caught at Contra Loma. I have a few videos on my page from there. I also caught a 10 lb trout!!!! There’s also striper in there. Saw three get pulled out of there in October, all around 12-15 pounds. The bait that works for me the best there is definitely a senko. The secret........ deadstick it! Cast it out and let it sit for a bit. My buddy caught a 4-5 lber, and my other buddy caught 15 fish in a day!! Good luck out there bro. Definitely recommend coming in the spring time!

Although it was the 90s and a lot safer back then. We used to chase around stripers, bass, bluegills and girls. A lot of good memories from this place. We used to fish the annual fishing derby, and I remember when the swimming area was actually in the lake. Literally flooded with memories. Thank you.

    You need to fish the sac river, anywhere above Tidsdale. Just float from ramp to ramp with one of your kayak buddies so you can shuttle back up. Im sure you will catch plenty of bass and stripers

    successful trip....went to a strange place, figured something out on day 1, went back on day 2 and exploited the knowledge you learned on day 1. Textbook fishing! good job!

    Hey, from Utah. Reserviors with all lot of draw down. Drop shot, neko rig, Wacky rig and jerkbaits hard/soft are main lures.

    I’ve had enough of that lake. I’m a bank fisherman and always skunk there every time I go there. But that lake holds giant bass tho. Seen the biggest bass in my life, probably a 10lber+. It was chilling by the bank and right when I came and saw it it swam away. The lake is too pressured so the fishes are VERY picky. I’ve used variety of lures, senkos, soft plastics etc whatever you can think of and never catch any. As a bank fisherman you can’t have access to the rocks too
