    I just want to say thank you because it’s literally the only lego store close to grand rapids

    Visited yesterday and went back today, bought something both times, great store! Glad to see a Lego store in Michigan finally!

    You have certainly done a great job on that store in such little time. I'm impressed at your age you know exactly how to do this and make it work so well. Thanks for the tour and I cannot wait to have a visit someday.

    Thanks for the store tour. Lego only stores can do really well. It wouldnt be as fun to visit either if you sold other types of toys. The more Lego the better. I will definitely stop by if I ever come to Michigan.

    And for a thought you should put the more expensive sets in a cabinet like a glass one in case of stealing

      I’ve thought about it, it’s just such a small space it’d be so hard for someone to walk out with a box like that without me knowing.

    Nice store tour. how is the retail side vs the bricklink sales, I would imagine bricklink has more sales?

    • @DavidWestDNABrix
      @DavidWestDNABrix  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its comparable, not going to give any concrete numbers, but it is apples to oranges because it is essentially two separate operations that compliment each other.

    LMAO at some of these comments. How hard is it to understand the concept of a Lego resale store? I think part of the confusion is that "DNA Brix" is listed as a "toy store" on Google Maps.

    • @DavidWestDNABrix
      @DavidWestDNABrix  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah pretty funny. It is a toy store on google because there isn't a better category.

    Your store is so awesome! By the way, how much is the Chrome Stormtrooper, because I couldn't find it on your website.

    Interesting business idea. Are you afraid that the legos company might sue you for opening up a toy store that only sells legos? I feel like they ignore other toy stores because they sell lots of different products.

    • @DavidWestDNABrix
      @DavidWestDNABrix  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not too worried about it. I don’t have LEGO licensing or advertising etc. Look at Bricks and Minifigs, Atlanta Brick Co, several others operating without a problem.

    In order to have a successful toy store you stock HO scale trains. I saw your store in the news, and I was hoping that you would have started to add other departments besides Legos by now.. Until this changes I will continue to shop at Rider's Hobby Shop. Just ask The Toy Shelf how much business I've given them since they stopped stocking trains.

      I’m sure some successful toy stores stock those. I know nothing about them and don’t plan too. In the age of e-commerce my business model is sound.

  • @reaganhandle9431

    Why did you open a toy store with only Legos? It's not a wise business strategy to have store with only one product! What if someone doesn't want Legos? You are going to have some very disappointed children in your store!

      then go to another store

    • @orsboo4447

      It’s a LEGO store

      My take on this - he needs a location to house his bricklink and brick owl stores, and if the rent for a small retail shop is close or equal to having a warehouse or storage unit...why not? Besides, this is no different than the Lego Store, Bricks and Minifigs, Atlanta Brick Co, and other successful "Lego-only" shops.

      Some previous replies cover most of it. It’s my niche and I’m extremely knowledgeable on it. I wouldn’t feel comfortable selling things I don’t know anything about. As for not a wise business strategy - I appreciate the worry but seem to be getting along fine so far.
