I saw Guy Clark and Verlon at the DFW airport about 2 years before this show date. They were at the baggage area picking up their guitars. I think Guy was wearing the same clothes. Guy looked real tired and he was barely able to walk. He was a little grumpy with Verlon but I could tell they were old friends. I wanted to say something..thanks..or offer to help but I just kind of watched the scene and moved on. I’ll never forget that moment.
How can you be rude when the Master, Guy Clark is playin"? Just shut up and be lucky your in the room in the presence of genius and magic all rolled into one.

he was pretty ill with cancer and treatment. But yeah they were old friends, I think Verlon is one of the best and Guy was a good judge of horseflesh
