Visiting the Dinosaur Capital of the World! (you wouldn't expect to find it here)

The surprising town where you can find some of the best dinosaur fossils!
This whole area was shockingly beautiful. Rugged landscape, friendly people and one of the most strangest places to find dinosaur fossils.
We started our trip visiting the hoodoo formations just outside the town of Drumheller. Theses are tall, thin spires of rock that have been eroded into fasinating shapes by wind and water over millions of years.
Next we stopped at the ghost town of 11 bridges to Wayne. A small mining town that had a checkered past and now a tourist destination. It worth the small detour and we found ourselves with the few locals. There is a ice cream shop, restaurant and hotel here. It's about the only thing in this town!
If you haven't figured it out yet we are in Drumheller, Alberta, Canada. It really is known worldwide for it dinosaur fossils! We explored downtown Drumheller and it really hasn't changed much over the years. Still a super small town, with a lot of tourist. The most recognizable feature of downtown drumheller is the local tourist information centre, along with its dinosaur lookout.
Horsetheif Canyon is a small detour worth taking. We found the viewpoint breathtaking and the hike down feels like you're going back in time. I'm not sure what you'll find down there but good luck! Just make sure you don't get lost...
To end the trip we had to visit the world famous Royal Tyrrell Museum. An insane collection of all things dinosaur related. Tons of fossils, history and information to keep you busy for hours
