For some reason Windows did not ask for the key. It just went right to install. Everything seems to have been installed correctly and all my items seem to be there.🤷♂️

This happened to me too. I am still installing the windows 10 by this time and it did not even ask for the product key. I'll update when I'm done installing and see if this works on my laptop

If your windows setup is saying that invaded product key so don't worry just open the iso setup and after there is setup file but it will give the same problem so open the iso of windows 10 then search setup and there is one more setup which is inside the source so install by the source setup it will work trust me
THANK YOU SO MUCH. I have windows 7 and managed to update it to windows 10 with this video. I tried few other videos but they didn't work on my laptop.
Also, it didn't prompt me to enter the generic product activation code and it still worked. I've literally just done it now so time will tell how genuine this is but I have also managed to finally update my Google chrome browser. Next step is to find Microsoft packages to get word and excel which I used to have until everything was wiped from the hard drive. If anyone has any good videos for Microsoft packages then please do send my way. Thank you

@@Shiv-00001 No idea, even the ”Activate Windows” watermark dissapeared after booting it up for the 2nd or 3rd time. Moved on to Ubuntu shortly after so I’m not concerned

Still working in 2024. Thanks a lot, Crown Geek. I followed your instructions and it worked, with some minor differences in the way the upgrade process went. For example 1- I was not asked for the License key. 2- The first attempt was cancelled almost at the end of the process. I suspected the personal files I had there to be taking more space, so I deleted all files after back up and upgraded anew. Then, it worked 100%. My notebook is a HP Mini, bought 13 years ago with a Windows 7 started x32 bit OS, but barely/very rarely used. So, it is as new. The license it had was genuine. Not sure if that's why I was not asked for any key, but I also have no issues with the windows version I installed. I am not able to keep my mini Notebook :). Thanks man, You really helped me here.

I upgraded from 7 to 10 via this method. I followed the steps with chrome and for some reason I downloaded the home edition not the pro (no problem for me) and also interestingly I was never prompted for a product key?

The whole process was going smoothly until I got to the checking for updates. It is almost 12 hours and still checking for updates. I don't know if I should terminate the process and start all over.
This is an update to my earlier comment, today is April 27 2024. So after several failed attempts, (getting stuck at "checking for updates"), I rebooted the system and went to the system update, I noticed that there was a messages saying " there are 59 updates that are waiting to be installed", (FYI, the PC has not been used for over five years), so I clicked on "install this updates". This was still on Windows 7, then at the completion of 79%, it was there for a long time. Then I stopped it and rebooted again. I then went back to the Windows 10 installation process which I had stopped, by starting from double clicking the Windows 10 ISO which we downloaded earlier on as part of the instruction in this video guide. From there, it started progressing from one step to another, and the Windows 10 installation was successful. The whole process took me like 2 hours. I am writing all this in case you are getting stuck too like I was. Thank you so much @CrownGEEK. This video was so helpful. 100% correct if you can follow through and very easy too. By the way, I did not need the activation key, the system copied the old activation key from Windows 7, but ask me to agree with the T&C to continue, which I did.

So it did take a couple times to restart before it actually updated. Then it said I had no pictures… once I went into the library and clicked on my downloads and pictures, It all auto filled to my windows 10. Thank you for the help on the update man.
