    In my opinion, the current judging criteria doesn't fit for what will make the sport/hobby expand in terms of throwers. Honestly, this isn't the olympics, and there's more of a factor of having fun. Most of us want to see the person with the most appealing routine win the competition, but for now, the judging criteria is just based on a sheet of paper that a person made up. By saying saying this event is like the olympics, you are basically saying that mickey is the peak of technical abilities..

  • @EvanNagao
    @EvanNagao 12 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    i think he's trying to say it's awkward because he only won once he left yoyojam making them look bad

  • @Jsell14
    @Jsell14 12 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Yes! He really deserved it!
    He's been my inspiration ever since I started yoyoing. I'm really glad he won.

    However the hell I got here, this is sweet. I remember going CRAZY when I could get a YoYo. It's a lost art.

  • @EvanNagao
    @EvanNagao 12 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    cont. and that he wins because his tricks from 2004 are the best, and still hold that way. The basic logic I'm trying to convey is that we should probably change the criteria of judging so that we don't end up like the olympics. It's really not that fun to watch people do the same exact thing every year and try to "not mess up" at the olympics. I mostly watch for the results rather than the routines themselves. The basic point is not just to you, but to all yoyoers alike.

    Marcus and Mickey were both amazing and did close to perfect performances. Both have their signature tricks and also the creativity to do lots of new stuff every year. If you watch Marcus's performances from last few years it's not like he does totally new tricks every time. Nobody does. - It's not repetition, it's called having your own style.

  • @thebrandonvu
    @thebrandonvu 12 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    SO SICK OF THE SHIT WORLD CHAMPIONS ARE GETTING. Its the fact that all players have become so damn good in their own way it splits decisions. Last year Marcus received a lot of shit as well. Cmonn they played the game and won, every player was judged the same, so the fact that he came out on top is no coincidence. He deserved it.

  • @chikoushodo
    @chikoushodo 12 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    He's deserving to be the Champ again.. :D
    He's 4 Times World Champion now.. :)
    We're always here to support him...:D

    For those who are wondering about the music, it is an original track produced by DJ Taku [m-flo] for Mickey to use at Worlds. YoYoDrumstep, as Mickey called it.

    Hiroyuki is just simply mind blowing! by far my favorite yoyoer. cant believe how fast he goes. I have a few vids of me doing his speed combo. in one of the i messed up and hit myself in left eye REALLY hard.

    kind of a different style with all those complicated string tricks, but he also included the classic mickey style of high flying unexplainable tricks that we all love, just brilliant.

    It's funny that no matter how many new tricks Mickey may put into his routine, people HAVE to complain about the old ones. Most top-notch yo-yo players have a few tricks that they use every year, so what if Mickey has a few more? It's not like he's going to trade his highest scoring tricks for new ones. I think everyone should compare this freestyle to his 2011 World's and then to his 2005 or 2006 World's and SEE how different they each are.

  • @MattitudeXSensei
    @MattitudeXSensei 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    did you watch ANY of this freestyle? he DESTROYED the competition! he rightfully won this year. I was there to watch this first hand and honestly...he deserved this, he did a fucking 3d horizontal eli hop at 1:44. Pretty sure no one else can do that yet...the level of performance and skill this took gave him what I call a flawless victory.

  • @NegaDark
    @NegaDark 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    That's true. I mainly meant that he uses same tricks when I'd rather see a whole new bunch of tricks. I know he has a few new ones, that's obvious. The best thing is he goes to the music.

  • @macpizzle90

  • @Haitherecoolbeanyman
    @Haitherecoolbeanyman 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    You realize this contest isn't about using a bunch of different tricks? His routine was so clean and his use of music was amazing. The judges aren't some people they picked up off of the street. He's not going for new tricks, he's going for the champion title -- which he got.

  • @NegaDark
    @NegaDark 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Oh and not to sound like I'm bad shit (because I'd never win one of these competitions) but the horizontal eli hop he did at 1:44, I can do that. Actually a lot of people can do that. It's just a risky trick to do in competitions. He nailed it.

  • @JuhnLuk
    @JuhnLuk 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think what did the trick for him this year was the horizontal play. The vertical play seemed similar, yes. But it looks like he changed his horizontal style a little, and took a lot of risk. I also know that's one part of the judging criteria. Risks. And he nailed a lot of risks

    Not same tricks actually. He uses many concepts that have proven successful in the past. But if you closely analyze the tricks from this freestyle and past contest, you will see quite a bit of fresh new material from this recent time of year. This freestyle was quite impressive and I am very happy to see Mickey back on the top once again. :)

  • @NegaDark

  • @Cinimod105

    Watch even as recent as his Japan Nats freestyle. There are new even a few new tricks between then and this, still some of the same ones cause nats was so recent, but still. he doesn't use the same exact tricks every year. But he doesn't use all the same tricks every single year. It's his style, fast, techy, going with the music like a boss. Style.

      he can walk the dog its just a fucking simple trick but cant do this trick on stage because he used a metal yoyo and if he do it it will be scratch , and this type of yoyo is unresponsive and for professional only, all yoyoer when they started play yoyo , first trick they learning is WALK THE DOG and its not Difficult at all , yoyoing is not just 100 or 200 tricks as almost of people thinking , its unlimited tricks , and its Freestyle , its like dancing , football freestyle , yoyoing is Art , not just a Toy !

I am sorry if I offended you or any of your friends, I'm just a child, relax. At least you think I am a child, because i don't know how to judge a yoyo contest. And for the record, I do agree Marcus should have won.
