The cables for the soft top and hard top adjust, too. My rear pin, with soft top usage, wouldn't pop up. Even after I replaced the soft top. I realized when you change the top, you adjust all necessary cables to accommodate the new much tighter top. MBZ are well made! Tightening rear window cable was what solved the rear pin problem. :-)

Hi. I can't find the 2nd video showing you removing the hard top. A friend of mine just inherited a '74 450SL and hasn't even seen it yet. We were wondering if they are all convertibles, or if some are just hardtops? That's probably a stupid question but hopefully you'll answer anyway. Haha. Thanks!

I had a hood problem- wouldn't pop up- had to push on hood while someone held the handle. Huge pain. I realized the hood release cable adjusts just like on a bicycle. I turned the hexagonal inch long nut just before the mechanism, and it worked!!! I sure wasn't looking forward to removing the cable. 1980 450SL

Good information. But if you are capable of driving a Mercedes 450SL then you don't need double instruction there is too much repetitive talk on the video a more precise verbal instruction would be far better, to go with the obvious knowledge the person making the video has.
