I started investing in 2005 and learned from Peter Lynch and Jim Slater books - I made the mistake of reading Ben Graham's The Intelligent Investor' which I think is too heavy for beginners!
My 'go-to' website was the Motley Fool and I got so much great knowledge from this site. I'm not sure if it is still the best and I think it may have changed hands making it more commercial.
I split my money 50:50 into Index Tracking funds versus individual stocks - and after two years, it was clear that the Index funds were performing better. So today, I'm invested across 6 diversified global index trackers, with one emerging markets bond fund. I top up the bond fund each month and whenever equities take a hit, I skim the bond fund and buy cheaper equities.

I use my Roth IRA to invest in long-term investments. I "gamble" on individual stocks with heavy research. This gamble makes me feel like I'm working toward retirement knowing I have that long-term basket investing without my influence.

Charlie Munger said "never" and he's done pretty well for himself, so I'd say don't sell until you're at least as rich as Charlie Munger.

Warren Buffet says to imagine you're buying excellent businesses and those businesses are obliged to share their profits with you - that's passive income.
However, if you want to be a trader, then you would buy and sell.
My approach is to buy, buy, buy and keep buying - to derive a passive income. I can only work so many hours per week, but my money never sleeps.

I bonds are treasury direct are offering a 3.5 rate which is excellent. It’s a thirty year savings bond but you can sell as early as 15 months and still get the interest that was earned.

I’ve purchased 12 of the dividends stocks he’s recently recommended. I’m beginning to stack funds in at all of them evenly.
I’ll comment an update quarterly on his channel.
So far: $4,000 added. Good luck to us both.
