You had a perfect opportunity during your Mario cereal joke to instead say "Promises that the Super Mario Cereal won't contain any mushrooms". Given a nod to the psychedelic ones, come on writers!

I agree, the monologue was going great, then that joke was so bland.
Keillor only touched a woman's back and apologised and she said it was fine then later made a complaint about him that's not even a complaint. I mean WTF!
STOP PUTTING THE PUNCHLINE AS THE VIDEO TITLE!
Garrison's response:
"I'm doing fine. Getting fired is a real distinction in broadcasting and I've waited fifty years for the honor. All of my heroes got fired. I only wish it could've been for something more heroic. I put my hand on a woman's bare back. I meant to pat her back after she told me about her unhappiness and her shirt was open and my hand went up it about six inches. She recoiled. I apologized. I sent her an email of apology later and she replied that she had forgiven me and not to think about it. We were friends. We continued to be friendly right up until her lawyer called. Anyone who ever was around my show can tell you that I was the least physically affectionate person in the building. Actors hug, musicians hug, people were embracing every Saturday night left and right, and I stood off in the corner like a stone statue. If I had a dollar for every woman who asked to take a selfie with me and who slipped an arm around me and let it drift down below the beltline, I'd have at least a hundred dollars. So this is poetic irony of a high order. But I'm just fine. I had a good long run and am grateful for it and for everything else."

Keillor still making writers almanac episodes every day on his TH-cam channel. Meanwhile the last time Conan produced anything of note was when he was co-writing early Simpsons 30+ years ago.

I was listening to Keilor long after I stopped watching Conan.
And nobody will remember that ginger comedian who had no talent, while the true comedians will live on in our memories forever. Garrison is still going strong. Trump or one of his children will be in the Oval Office again, while Biden is bused off to a retirement home with video games that is not located in the state of New York.

Conan's audience doesn't deserve conan. 😑
I mean every monologue there are awkward laughs and lazy claps by the audience. Even conan himself says it in almost every monologue about no laughs or proper claps.
Look at Stephen Colbert, kimmel and other new hosts like james Corden audience's, they appreciate every joke and line with proper laughs and claps.
i just think monologues are not his strong suit :( this delivery/joke format he has been using for over 20 years is confusing, and the audience reactions to it have always been awkward and uncertain because of this. he will say something like, “X movie grossed Y million dollars this week”, and then pause for a response from the audience. this works when the piece of news is polarizing, but in most cases the headline is something quite neutral, and the audience’s uncomfortable nonresponse lends itself to the joke’s failure.
That's because Conan is one of the most apolitical hosts out there. But most talk show audiences are made up of SJWs who can't live without their daily dose of Political Correctness.

The whole GK thing is total BS.
Richard Wanker it's not surprising, he often wove sexist remarks into his show, but when people are desensitized by this BS everyday in media and life they don't hear it at all. I disliked GK early on because of his creepy older generation sexist jokes being seen as nostalgic Midwestern culture. It never should have been on NPR. I'm glad these guys are finally being called out.
