      Thank you for noticing! We appreciate the note. As we say in the video, given the weight of the rider and the hot conditions on the day, we figure our performance numbers are on the conservative side. But at least they are achievable in adverse conditions. Thanks for watching and for leaving a note. Safe riding!

      @@WatercraftZone I know I’m late to this, but you might not have been fully out of break-in either, I seem to remember 10 hours as the full period. That would certainly explain the 150 RPM you’re missing

    Great review once again Joshua. Awesome ski A-Z. Feels good on glassy water at 120 km/h. Have been doing distance rides on my 2024 Sea-Doo RXP-X RS 325 Wiseman's to Cowan Creek (Akuna Bay, Apple Tree Bay [Brunch], Jerusalem Bay, etc..). Last ride (3hr/150kms) took an extra 40L fuel. Use a pump for fuel transfer on the pontoon at Akuna Bay visitors ARM B. Lots of play during the 150 km trek. Next max distance trek planning Wisemans to Gosford 73 kms. The ski eats fuel, but you can do the same rides on the 325 like on a non-supercharged ski by just taking more fuel. Peter.

      Thanks for the feedback. And for the insight into your real world fuel use. The RXP-X 325 would be awesome on that ride. Extra fuel caddy - using the LINQ system - is a great idea. Also a small portable battery-powered fuel pump to fill the tank is way better than a jiggle hose. Great idea. Enjoy!

    The 325 in Australia is still speed limited. I added a scom unit to my rxtx325 and get 131kmh top speed

    Fantastic Video, Do Y'all happen to know what the Top Speed of the Australian Version of the 2015 Sea Doo RXP 260 RS was? (Actual and Limited). The US Version was limited to 67 MPH if I understand correctly?

    • @WatercraftZone

      Hey thanks for your feedback. It’s appreciated. Unfortunately we haven’t ridden the 2015 version of the RXP. And we only started speed testing with a VBox in the past couple years. Sorry we couldn’t help out this time.

  • @sasquatchwithinternetacces2940

    What is the limiting factor for speed on skis? 325hp would get a car much faster than 65mph. Is it the hull? Do they lose 30% of power through the jet drive like outboards do with jet drive lower unit?

    • @WatercraftZone

      Good question. The resistance / surface friction of the water and the weight of the ski and the rider. I’ve not calculated it but I don’t imagine there is much loss between the engine and the jet pump. Maybe the brain’s trust on this page can help.

    • @XF_Chaos

      It’s mainly down to the fact that it, along with nearly all water vehicles, don’t have a transmission. Air friction and rolling resistance are small enough obstacles that land vehicles can afford to upshift and drop torque in exchange for speed, while watercraft always need that torque on tap to deal with water’s much higher viscosity and RPM’s can only go so high.
      Although, there is whispers that Sea-Doo’s iDF is a test to see if gearboxes will work in watercraft, and the result of enough success could be a two-speed transmission built for PWC’s. Nothing is definite, but it would be very interesting to see just how much of a speed boost it would add. (Source is The Watercraft Journal here on TH-cam if you’re curious)

    • @XF_Chaos

      @@sasquatchwithinternetacces2940 Then it’s probably the jet drive aspect. I assume said boats were prop-driven?

    Won't this be uncomfortable for one's internal organs, liver, kidney, whatever if it gets shaken through that much? Is the seat somehow on a suspension?

    • @WatercraftZone

      Sea-Doo had a model with suspension under the platform about a decade ago but it was too costly to maintain and so it did not continue with the technology. In rough chop riding any Jet Ski can be tough on your back. Which is why crouching or standing is better.

      We had the same query so we checked before we put this video together. We have seen some RXPs open up at 5 hours and others take up to 8 hours. Sea-Doo assured us the ski we tested had been run in even though it was showing 5 hours.

      @WatercraftZone hello, I have a friend who is in engine development at sea doo and he told me 8rs to reach full potential. The engine begins to get full timing at about 5hrs but will still pull timing easier before 8 hr period. He actually said do testing after 12 hrs of time and he guarantees it will be quicker

    Top speed hindered by air temp is my guess - 36* Celsius is HOT!

    • @WatercraftZone

      Thanks for your feedback. We agree those were tough conditions, which is why we made a point to list the high ambient temperature on the day. Plus we have seen slightly higher top speed runs elsewhere on social media, so wanted to be clear about our test conditions on the day. But if this is the worse-case scenario for the RXP-X 325, then it still makes for epic performance.
