Aughh my chest hurts. This was the most immense love in the whole series. When I first saw her say that Matthew fills her brain still, it got me like a punch to the heart. It’s a shame the death happened since Mary was initially my favorite, but lacked substance afterward.
What a great actor Dan Stevens is!!! WOOOW. I am fascinated by every role that he played. He's fantastic!!! Hopefully, everyone takes care of him and value as he deserves. He´s a wonderful British gift to the world.
@@Silviasi22 No -- he knew from the beginning when all of the actors signed a 3-year contract, that he didn't want to this forever, and he and Sybil did not renew their contracts. Like everyone, I was more than devastated when Matthew died -- Downton Abbey was never as good as when he was in it. Matthew was the heart and soul of the entire cast. Dan is a highly intelligent and motivated actor and he always wanted to expand his acting and do versatile parts to grow as an actor and as a human being. He is so multi-talented -- whether it's dramas, comedy or musicals (yes, he can sing) -- he is doing exactly what he wanted to do. While he states -- all the time -- how grateful he is for Downton Abbey and the many opportunities it gave him, he continues to challenge himself professionally. This is why he did Legion, The Guest, Apostle, Beauty & the Beast, Night at the Museum as Sir Lancelot, and finally, this year, his head-turning star turn as Alexander Lemtov in "Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga" where he really got to show his comedic chops. No doubt Dan Stevens will earn a Golden Globe Award nomination as Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy or Musical. He stole the movie and *everyone* who saw it agreed HE made the movie because of his memorable role.

Of all the suitors of Mary, Charles Blake is the most compatible to her after Matthew,both of them love her very much but aren't afraid to tell her no when is wrong or mean but the rest simply love her too much and have no power over her,they all do her bidding especially Evelyn Napier.
