the hardest part of changing the filter was figuring out the starting point...then I did it in less than five minutes. There are other videos that have u taking the whole glove compartment and unplugging the fuse board. Thank God I found your video, it saved me money, time and an ulcer. Thanks for the video!!
Thanks for the video. Just pulled off the job. I had to go back and look at the video since the angles are pretty close in but then I noticed your little diagram in the beginning. If i were to suggest anything it would be to maybe start with a wider shot and come in to the action. Doesn't change the fact that your video kicked ass though! Love how you got straight to the point and were very succinct.
I replaced mine this morning. It was super easy and super fast. There was a ton of leaves and debris in mine. Yuck! Thanks for posting! Mazda dealer wanted alot of $ to do and they said it was a complicated process. It wasn't!
Just changed my cabin air filter on a 2013 Mazda. Overall, it was pretty painless like they show in the video. My only suggestion would be removing the glove compartment and the panel underneath it anyway. The glove box is pretty easy to remove, so it only adds a minute or so to the process, but it gives you consierably more head room/arm room down there. Thanks for the video!
seriously. It's great that you did it and tried to teach people something but you really should reshoot that video because your orientation messed me up so bad. I don't know wtf you're looking at. Consider starting away from the location and stepping into the shot.
Agreed on the glovebox thing. No need to pull it. Took my about 45 minutes and I didn't even unclip the fuse panel. I just used an extension and swivel to remove the nuts and drop the bracket with the panel still plugged in.
Whoaa I was about to say good god with that other guy taking the whole freaking dash apart thank you for posting this would have been pissed if i took that whole dash apart
It may be useful to point out that the filters go in the compartment towards the back of the car while installing with the gap on the front (engine) side. I spent a few minutes trying to get them to stack on the wrong side of the compartment until I figured it out. Other than that it's so simple, even a moderately dexterous cave man can do it.
Easy as everyone else said! Thanks for the video. Just make sure you guys have the arrow on the filter pointing towards the back of the car (as indicated by the instructions) not sure how important this is though..both sides look the same to me. Curious to know, does anyone know what kind of sensor is the one that's outside the cover to the cabin air filters?
28monkeyking28 that is the blower motor resistor. Also super easy to replace. Unplug, unscrew, and replace. When it burns out the fan only works on max (4), and not on lower settings (1-3).
If you have a 2004 to 2009 Mazda 3 then the cabin filter removal panel is blocked by the fuse board bracket. To get to the bracket you need to remove the fuse board and then unbolt the bracket, which is simplified if you remove the glovebox. Mazda have obviously realised that this required an enormous amount of effort and changed the design for the 2010 model. But - removing the glovebox really isn't any great problem - it's held in place by two screws and just needs a good pull to remove it. In fact most of the Mazda 3 seems to be equally straightforward to dismantle
Actually for 2009.. (or maybe older) you don't have to take the glove box.. but you still have to take out the fuse box.. it's a bit more complicated than 2010 and newer :)
Thats how I do it jeez....mwhy the hell would someone take the glove box, et al, completely out? Like removing your front grille, bumper cover and headlight assemblies to change a flat.
So it turns out this instructional is only good for the joker face 3s. I have an '07 MS3 and learned this the hard way. So... If you have the less smiley 3, you'll have to go the other route. Sucks... Really F'n sucks.

Thanks - a Mazda mechanic was telling me it was difficult to do, but this looks simple.

You're a life saver ! Just did my daughters 2011 Mazda 3 in less than 10 min.

I can't tell in which part of the cabin you are working on.
Thank you very much man!, I was going to take my car to the dealer to get this done and they wanted to charge me 110 for parts and labor.
Thanks for the video, couldn't find anything this good anywhere else online.

You rock! Thanks, changed the cabin filter in less than 5 minutes because of this video! Gotta love youtube.
Holy shit. So glad I found this. I just watched the other one and.... Yeah, this way looks a little easier.
Thank you! I don't have an owner's manual and was wondering how to do this. If you have any other tips for this car, please share!
Thanks wouldn't have been able to do it without you.

Nice job on the video. Helped me get the filters in quickly.
Appreciate your post!! The first time I did it was a real pain.

should you disconnect the battery first to make sure the airbag does not fire when you open the interior panels?

This was perfect! Thanks! Quick and easy! 💜👌🏼

Very useful. Thanks for this video!

so it can work for 2012 mazda? Because your saving me $200 bucks lol
Great video thank you!)))
You didn't show how to change them and put in a new one. You literally stopped the video before doing what the title claimed to show. Lame.
thanks homie
Many thanks

I drive a 2012 Mazdaspeed 3. Try this video instead for 2010 or newer: th-cam.com/video/IYmDTUYcfkw/w-d-xo.html
