Rani Gaidinliu belongs to Manipur. She actively participated in movement against British rulers in Naga and Manipur areas at the time of Civil Disobedience movement, 1932. She was arrested by English. Jawaharlal Nehru ji promised her release and gave her title "Rani". She worked for the upliftment of Nagas. She is also considered spiritual advocate for Nagas. They considered her as incarnation of Goddess Cherchamdinliu. Government of India respected her as Freedom fighter and awarded her Padma Bhushan.

Gaidinliu was a Naga spiritual and political leader who led a revolt against British rule in India. At the age of 13, she joined the Horaka religious movement of her cousin Haipou Madonang. The movement later turned into a political movement seeking to drive out the British from Manipur and the surrounding Naga areas.
