I’m looking at the Bifrost gear version, which is probably a rebranded Chinese version. Any updates on how these are holding up? Thanks for the review .
i belive theyre abs also, the fakes are soooo good compared to the real deal, if you need decent cheap ear pro, FMA-FCS AMP really for the money are dumb good.
Ive got an Ops core carbon with Peltor Comtacs just bought the Ops Core arms and AXL adapters I think if you have the gucci helmet and comms you are already in deep may as well get the proper ones lol.
Have had the ops core mounts for less than a year and a crack is already starting on the circular area above the headphone, and I don’t even wear my helmet that often. might just go back to something simpler
I think that's going to boil down to personal preference. They do a pretty good job. But if I could make them hold (or clamp on your ears I guess) a tad more I'd like it better. Don't get me wrong, they definitely work. I'm being nit picky when I say I'd like them to seal a tad stronger. I might take them apart and try stronger springs just for the heck of it.
@@readingthebible5413 Update: I bought a pair of these and the seal is very good. Altough the adapter to connec to the peltor is ultra shit. They keep popping out and the peltor fly away. Other than that the arms work well and seal is good.
Second update: I bought the AXL adapter for the peltors (copy) and now it seals and works very good. For 200 less dollars I have a good copy that works fine.
I've heard that the Wilcox G24 nvg mounts are another fake that are almost identical in quality to the real ones. I'm tempted to buy one but my current mount works perfectly so I can't justify dropping the hundred bucks.
@@readingthebible5413 The fake metal Wilcox are good, but not identical in quality. They have a lot more wobble. Not an issue if you bungie your NVD, but no comparison to the real deal.
@@DaveSmith-cp5kj Thank you. I found a fake for around $60 so I'm tempted to try it but then I ask myself why. I have a Rhino 2 with the dove tail mod and it's solid beyond belief. I'm not sure I want to drop more money just to look cool.
@@readingthebible5413 Yup I still run the original Rihno on a PYRM dovetail adapter. It's cheap, it's solid, and I like the force to overcome which is faster to manipulate. The original Rihno also holds the NVD further out from your face which lets you look around it easier. If you do look into higher end mounts, I think the Norotos Low-stow is a far superior option to wilcox. Not only is it stronger and lower profile, but it has force to overcome as well. However I only use this when running dual 14s on a pano bridge or quads because with a monocular or binos you want it further away from your face so you can peek around.
@@readingthebible5413 I have a "Sotac G24 clone". I added locktight to all the screws when I got it and oiled it up a bit. Works well for me :D. There is a bit of up and down wobble. While this is a bit worse then the originals as far as I know its also in them, since it comes down to the lockup mechanism its self. But with just bungees its unnoticable even when moving a bit faster.
Mine came with adapters for peltor comtac 3’s. Be aware that the plastic hinges are wearing on them. No big deal, and not unexpected given their origin and price.
I don't have a ton of time using them but so far so good. I put some loctite on the screws that I could to make sure they don't come lose. But yeah, so far so good. I'll make an update when I really can put them through their paces.

What kind of plastic are the original headphone mounts made of?

Sorry I just saw this. I'm sorry, I'm not sure. I think there is a way I can tell but I'm in the middle of moving now so I don't have a lot of time.

might as well get a ballistic helmet…

How have these held up over the last year of owning these?
I haven’t had a ton of time to use and abuse them, but so far so good.
I also have one product by TAC SKY
thanks for the video!. How is the seal? Do they make a good seal and comfortable to shoot with? thanks

What adapter do they come with? Im planning on using them with howard leights on a pgd helmet.

What kind of headset and ppt do you have?
I don't. These are the Comtac defenders. They are identical to the 3's except they aren't coms compatible. I don't have anyone to talk to anyway lol
