Hi Tim. I was proud of myself last weekend for saying no to going to a charity event that would involve spending on drinks, raffles, loud music and a late night. I made a donation and had a lovely evening at home over the fire with a cup of coffee and crappy tv. Bliss. 😊 I am grateful for living where I do, a long happy marriage and my health being reasonable. Thanks for the thought provoking vid. 👍
Your beautiful dog looks like a sweetheart! If you want more channel choices for TV, purchase a ROKU unit at most big box retailers or their website. Cut the cord (and cost) to cable, and enjoy the type of programming of your choice with ROKU. You will even have access to follow your favorite channel, (The) NRM. 🥰
Thoughtful being. Walk out my kitchen door, into the southern sunshine. Coffee in hand, comfortable chair, exhale, focus on the warmth and light. Then begin that long list of special people and things I love. The longer I live, the longer my list gets.
Thank you Tim. I agree. After giving away the last of the garage bulk items, our home is so peaceful. My daughter and I are at peace. We love the quiet and a safe haven to rest and rejuvenate, and just be. I don’t know how much longer we will live in the same home, but I’m grateful for this leg of the journey to declutter and let go of so much. We are disconnecting from the rat race and feel so free living a much simpler life, enjoying what we have. With the carefully chosen things we have left we will enjoy each moment. If I want to go out and browse through a store I just pretend I’m in a museum enjoying the beauty. Otherwise, nature is a haven of peace.
I think I need to put this on loop daily until I get it. Well said, sound advice. My implementation is slow and inconsistent. But I can change that and that's a good thing. Jesus have mercy.
Precious words… grateful for every breath I take. My Thanksgiving is overflowing. This is a wonderful video. The Holy Bible says, “out of the abundance of the heart a man speaks”. I love your heart and your willingness to share, to teach. A blessed Thanksgiving to you.
I had to wait till near-midlife to meet my now husband. He is in his 11/12th year of Parkinsons, on an accellerating slope into losing all that our human experience takes for granted. In a surreal moment in time, I also went from one reality into another that noone is able to counsel me regarding... Happiness is very real to me. I began to realize that, inspite of entering what I now refer to as my "Pixar" zone, I am so aware of a protection zone that amazes me. I am also continually reminding my husband that who he is, is sufficient for me: I am profoundly content and happy simply having his presence near me. Happiness is knowing you don't really deserve ANYTHING, and yet there is so very much we receive inspite of that fact. Loved this again, Norm😂NRM. Yes, Tim, speaking from your heart really does reach out and hug those who stop by to share the touch-point of a meaning-filled thought.❤
Your words about setting boundaries and keeping doors locked against the pounding on the door really spoke to me. Happy Thanksgiving. I look forward to meeting you one day.
I’ve been struggling with a hard decision with people banging at the door. I asked the Lord today to show me the answer. You have no idea how timely this message was for me… boundaries and saying no when it is necessary for your own sense of peace and well being. I love what I already have and by saying no I can keep that peace and serenity. Thank you Tim! And thank you Lord for answered prayer!
For me, nothing calms my mind and puts things in perspective like looking up at the night sky. It fills me with wonder and gratitude. I really enjoy your videos. Thank you.
Good Morning, Tim. I just can’t thank you enough for these wise and timely words this morning. You truly have a gift, my friend, and I’m so grateful you are sharing it with us! May God bless you richly, and Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. 🙏💙 Meline
Thank you for taking the time to send this message. I really enjoy the videos and the messages and I’m grateful for all you do. I have been doing a gratitude journal daily for a few years now. It has helped me reflect on the day.
I love this quote, “Happiness is continuing to desire what you already have.” Thank you for sharing! I’ve also heard a quote (which I cannot cite), “If you’re not happy with what you have, you’ll never be happy with what you want.” Thank you for reminding me that I am so very blessed. Happy Thanksgiving 🤎🧡💛🤎
i'm at a point in my life now where this so rings true. 57 and was "planning" to make it to 67 and retire but now struggling with MS and now hoping I can work and exit workforce at 62. I'll still try and make it to 67 but we'll see what life has in store for me. I see others struggle worse than me and I have to remind myself to be grateful for what I have and can still manage to do. It's hard sometimes. Sometimes I wish I'd never wake up. I still have reasons (family) to keep on going so I do. love your channel, words of wisdom. take care and hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

That was a good one, Tim! Our strategy during Covid lockdown was to imagine our home as a monastery. We came to love our “monastic” life and all of its “limitations.”
T, in my 20' and 30's I didn't have the luxury of vacays and nice things. I was lucky if I had the basic necessities but I wouldn't change any of it, because escaping a toxic situation with my tiny TWINS hand in hand gave us the best "PEACE OF MIND" we needed. I purchased my 1st VERY OLD CAR at 40 years old and it took on many road trips. Going through all those rough times made me realize how little I really need to be content with what I NOT OTHERS have.
Thank You for the video, I just stopped to think after watching this video ,for many moments, this was a very moving video, I also just like listening to You.Take care....
I’m grateful to have found your channel shortly after you started it. Thanks for taking the time to make these videos sharing your insights, experiences, & other interesting information. Know that you’re shining a positive light into our lives. There’s a saying that I like - “Yesterday is history, Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift; that’s why it’s called the Present.” All we have is right now - the present moment & being grateful for that is true happiness. Sending many blessings to you & your family. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! 😊
This is one of the most valuable videos I have heard in a long time. Thank you so much for sharing this. You speak succinctly, and everything you have said packs so much truth. Thank you, Tim.
Great video, Tim! Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us, and helping us live a calm, peaceful life. For me, leaving the TV off (sometimes for days) helps because I'm not being reminded of all the negative, heartbreaking news that seems to be happening in our world right now. I Thank God every morning for waking me up, and every night for giving me all I want and all I need. I hope you have a Blessed Thanksgiving!
great message! Sometimes it is scary how alike we think...you got me a couple of weeks ago and then again today. I too love the sunrise and it just warms me and gives me calm...I make it a practice, every single morning when I waken (run and pee if must do but come back to bed), to stop and to say thanks for waking up, and to express gratitude for the things that make me happy. I have lost many friends since 60 who I know would love to still be around and it has sharpened for me the fact that you must be grateful every day and assume this one may be your last, therefore making the most for EVERY day. In my career I was always a rather driven type A in corporate sale management and loved winning...not just for the money or the trips but just for my own personal happitude. I have changed a lot in my 60's...mostly had to as I became a caretaker for my Mom after she had 5 strokes, while walking on a terminal hip from a skiing accident but couldn't get it fixed with Mom's condition, and then throw in a relationship ending and having to sell my house earlier than I wanted or lose out on a chance for an HOA situation that I knew I would enjoy later...all the while still teaching. Anyway, I had a bad 8 years. Now that all that has fallen away and the new hip is great, poor Mom is gone, retired from job, in the easier-living townhome, relationship is smoothed and we've remained friends....now I can settle back each morning, thank the Lord for my bounty (not rich by any means but "enough") and that I am still here! I can cuddle y cat and dog and do whatever I feel like eat whatever, but if lonely hit social media or meet someone for lunch or a movie. My Crohns disease is a pain in the arse (literally) but hey, it could be cancer, or whatever.....but yes...I agree we must keep gratitude in the foreground I ill try the 3x a day writing down 3 things...sound good, even if I only do it a few days...hugs to you. Susan in Virginia
Outstanding insight Tim. I am so grateful my parents taught me that "if your aren't content with what you have, you will never be content with what you get." I have lived that all my adult life. I learned to start living a life of gratitude after my son's accident. It's too long a story to tell here, but so impactful. Thank you sir for your wisdom and instruction and I for one will take them to heart.
Happiness is fleeting. Learning to be content in all situations and living a lifestyle of gratitude can help us to experience true joy and peace. TY for this video.
Faith and Gratitude go hand in hand. It is part of our daily walk with God. Delicious food is a gift from the Divine. Quality over quantity is my motto. Not all chocolate is the same. Sometimes replacing an item is necessary. Having a choice is important. If your mattress causes you to lose sleep then it is time for a better one. There is so much to be grateful for! Happy Thanksgiving!
Be still and be content. Daily meditation puts inside of me everyday the message that NOW is more. NOW is full I have found that when the heart is full I am straight and content thus happy. I look at today and I'm amazed that it has evolved and I am so blessed. So so blessed😊
With clarity you addressed the greatest deficit of our time - our inability to be grateful. Each day is a gift. Each moment is a gift. “All is gift - all is grace.” Saint Therese of Lisieux. Happy Thanksgiving Tim. We are humbly waiting in joyful thanksgiving.
I de cluttered my wardrobe and made it shine however on re visiting it i have de cluttered again and again. I am grateful and enjoying the simplicity of life. I would like to practice the art of being more vocal about my great fulness like the monks and setting some boundaries. Thanks Tim x
Thank you for such a thoughtful video. Hopefully it will inspire us to rethink of what we have in our lives, especially the love for family and God’s gift of something as perfect as a sunset, which I love.
This was another great message. Sadly, the dissatisfaction/lack that so many people (especially youth!) in western culture feel is facilitated by social media, and particularly by online “influencers.” Not sure that this will change anytime soon. Thank you, Tim, for a timely reminder to appreciate the positives in our lives. 🍁Happy Thanksgiving!🍂
So true...great wisdom...I am 70 years old and am very thankful for what I have. My parents both worked, dad had two jobs and they never had enough, never appreciated anything, hated each other and divorced, had a huge sale and ran off with multiple other partners. They are finally dead now. I can still hear the echoing of the fighting. Then they would fuck the daylights out of each other. I was so glad when I finally left home. They were both mentally ill. They had to have been. I do not plan on seeing them in heaven. God be with me and keep me until the end of my days. Evil abounds. Stay focused on JESUS. Thank you, again.
I hear you. Thats not my dream car in the driveway, but it is very nice and luxurious for me. My cabin is not finished but I could not love it more. There is nothing I want or need and its a little scary. I am content and quiet, after 77 years...
I love your thoughtfulness. I’m currently reading, “The Practice of the Presence of God”, by Brother Lawrence. It’s about recalling God’s presence throughout every moment of your day. Not an easy thing to do in our current culture.
This may be your best video! This lines up directly with studying I’ve been doing. So, very timely! Please explore this more in the future. Keep all the videoed coming! Thank you! (The boundaries segment was particularly resonant for me! Just say I’m getting better at it.)
Thanks Tim your video was exactly what I needed, for a couple of weeks I've been at odds with things and it's really made me see things in perspective and cheered me up and I took your advice and enjoyed the sunrise this morning! Greetings from Cornwall, England!
I guess the times I am really hunting for what it is I am grateful for is when I most need to be grateful. Thank you for your words. Happy Thanksgiving.
Your message is so true. Thank-You for the wise words. You are a great speaker and have such a pleasant presentation. Wishing you a peaceful and blessed Thanksgiving.
This is a very timely message. I've known this for a long time, but doing it is so hard and comes and goes. I appreciate the reminder and love the way you presented the information. May God bless you and your mom. Happy Thanksgiving.

I'm amazed at the number of people walking but their face is on their phone. I do take mine, but for safety.

A gratitude journal really changed my life. I followed author Ann Voskamp and wrote thanks as often as I could. Blue jay’s yelling appeared often.
❤😊
I think I need to put this on loop daily until I get it. Well said, sound advice. My implementation is slow and inconsistent. But I can change that and that's a good thing. Jesus have mercy.
Well spoken and beautifully delivered reminder to all of us to practice gratitude. I am grateful to you and for you.
.Being one with nature is the most calming moments I have when I want to be alone. It's so calming and peaceful.

Well said Tim. We spend too many waking hours concentrating on worthless endeavours, desires and worries.
Speaking of worthless hours, I bet your mantra is:
"Life begins after coffee"
Don't know why I think that...
Happy Giving Thanks Day!

My creed…Do what you can, with what you have, where you’re at.

Thanks Tim for the focusing thoughts. Especially poignant for this time of year.
I live cozy. Not a lot of stuff but a nice small ranch style home cozy inside and out. Am in my early 70s and what I've noticed after all my yrs of living; life never slows even when the electronics promised to make life easier when predicted yrs ago. I'm not a minimalist but an essentialist. Do I need the hustle and bustle which is 'created' but not naturally occurring ? The answer is no. How much is made up and how much is really necessary/essential ? At my age I now know the answer. I live cozy.
that's just brillient!

Really enjoyed this video and message Tim. Keep them coming my friend.
My goal for being happy is to have, in my life, people who will ask me to sit with them in the dark of days without the light of the sunny side.
That sounds heavenly!
With so much ridiculous stuff on the internet today, you are such a breath of educated fresh air. Happy Thanksgiving, hope it’s a wonderful day with your family.❤😊
PERFECTLY said sir! You are a very wise man. Thank you for this today 😊

So very well said Tim & oh so true - thank you! As the old saying goes, a simple life, is it’s own reward! 🤗
Needed to hear this today. Very hard to put aside the needs/demands of others even for a short time to meet our own needs for peace.

Be still and be content. Daily meditation puts inside of me everyday the message that NOW is more. NOW is full I have found that when the heart is full I am straight and content thus happy. I look at today and I'm amazed that it has evolved and I am so blessed. So so blessed😊

Tim, you are right on point about being taken in by our surroundings that even our mind needs a reset, whew!!! Lol!
💯

With clarity you addressed the greatest deficit of our time - our inability to be grateful. Each day is a gift. Each moment is a gift. “All is gift - all is grace.” Saint Therese of Lisieux. Happy Thanksgiving Tim. We are humbly waiting in joyful thanksgiving.

Good stuff, Tim! Thank you.
Thanks for watching!

Wise words…Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family
Great insights!
Well said.

Thank you, Tim.
This was another great message. Sadly, the dissatisfaction/lack that so many people (especially youth!) in western culture feel is facilitated by social media, and particularly by online “influencers.”
Not sure that this will change anytime soon.
Very well spoken !
I am thankful for your channel. Happy Thanksgiving!
I guess the times I am really hunting for what it is I am grateful for is when I most need to be grateful. Thank you for your words. Happy Thanksgiving.

Brilliant reminder. Thank you!

This is a very timely message.
I've known this for a long time, but doing it is so hard and comes and goes. I appreciate the reminder and love the way you presented the information. May God bless you and your mom. Happy Thanksgiving.
Thanks Tim.
