Infamous: Second Son (stylized as inFAMOUS: Second Son) is an open world action-adventure video game, developed by Sucker Punch Productions and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation 4 video game console.
Infamous Second Son is set seven years after the good ending of Infamous 2, in which Cole MacGrath activated the Ray Field Inhibitor (RFI) to destroy a Conduit (superhumans named for their ability to "channel" powers) named John White, also known as the Beast and cure the Plague. The explosion that resulted was originally thought to have killed all Conduits across the globe; however, those outside of the blast radius or with a natural resistance have survived. Fearing the Conduits' abilities after the destruction of Empire City, the US eastern seaboard and the worldwide economy, the Department of Unified Protection (DUP) is formed. Now, major cities across the United States are heavily monitored for Conduit activity, whom the DUP have labeled collectively as "bio-terrorists". The game is set in Seattle, Washington, now under DUP jurisdiction. Players control Delsin Rowe, a 24 year-old slacker graffiti artist, who wants to help the community by protesting against the government, which he hates. Infamous is set in a open world setting, where the player can do as they please. Parkour is a major element and players can destroy the environment to their use. The player starts with the smoke element and obtains other powers by defeating other conduits.

I personially like Delson Rowe. Sure he's not as good as Cole Macgrath, but he's actually a pretty good character to me.
So few people don't realize they can like both and instead hate on one or the other.

For once in the infamous games, i feel more preferable to the good karma story over the evil one. The latter karma story, unlike the games predecessors, is just too sad and depressing for me to enjoy. From what I can tell, this installment does the best job with emotional impacts and consequences out of all the infamous games.
i feel like evil karma is more fun when you just want to blow everything up, it’s a pretty good sandbox, whereas good karma is more story focused

Almost a decade later and I still agree. Too many games nowadays use good or bad choices as cosmetics but this actually felt like it mattered what you chose. More than just different dialogue choices
this gameplay was just recommended to me now and i cant believe i sat for 2 hours watching it.
the cutscenes in this game and dialogue were really well done

The boss fight against Augustine is all serious business, but then when he kicks her it looks more like a game of 'kick the can.' I can't help but laugh every time.

I do also find Delsin more relatable. Granted if you got powers like his you probably would be more like his hell yes reaction then Coles more angsty reaction since his did have that water downside. Good Delsin did seem to mature a decent bit as well without having to get completely serious all the time.

I personally like Delsin Row better than Cole. I just found how he got his powers funner and how his reaction wasn’t just rushed for the sake of the plot. He just feels more relatable than Cole did.

I wonder what Delsin would have looked like at Curdun Cay? At least Augustine's DUP would have pried that damn beanie off his head during the strip search. I could imagine his hair getting longer and him growing a goatee in Curdun Cay.
You know when I think about it Cole seems stronger because we got to see him at his high points. Consider how Delsins power worked though? He has got some pretty damn scary potential. I mean at the end he beat a very powerful conduit with years of experience whilst he is only around a week of it. Imagine if he got access to the stuff Cole had or just give him time to gather more powers. He could probably turn absolutely anything in the environment into a weapon given how bullshit conduit powers get. Delsin is only limited by what he needs to absorb to use that conduit power but it seems like he doesn't really have a limit on how strong he could get or at least his limit is very high. Plus you know Delsin can swim so there isn't something normal that can stop him and he can survive video game lava for around 10 seconds.

one question I still have is how Delsin actually GOT the power. Like, did he always have the power to absorb, or is it just so magical that he possessed it?
At the beginning he comes across a guy who has powers and he gets them from him

+KaraBoDaraDolls 5 Delsin's Conduit ability is that of absorbing other Conduit powers: Mimicry. It's likely that whatever caused it to become active was the fact that he touched a Conduit's hand. He probably always had the power, just no one to absorb from since only one other Akomish tested positive for the Conduit gene and that Conduit hadn't awakened their powers yet.

I always wanted to see like a Death battle fight between Delsin Rowe and Alex Mercer from prototype... Their games are so similar, and they both have a huge variety of powers and can both recharge. Delsin with the cores, and Alex with, well, humans.

Well the game is set in Seattle.
And now in 2015 most fanfic writers demonize Reggie by making him a DUP agent. Surprisingly, all these have a similar plot: Reg turns out to be alive somehow, receives water powers, joins DUP and kicks Delsin's ass. Then our powered freedom-loving tagger gets imprisoned in Curdun Cay, with different consequences: from being rescued by Fetch, Eugene and somebody else the next day to sadistic procedures (won't even describe them, just not to make hard feels if there is somebody having special feelings about Delsin) and 2 year lock.

Just curious: was you in a hurry when you played this game? I've noticed you didn't take the time to properly upgrade Delsin's power set before you got to the end boss battle. Tactically dangerous but to each his own.

This game freaks me the fuck out. Those faces are a little too low in the uncanny valley for me. Either make them much more realistic or make them a little less, but right now, they're freaking me the fuck out.
It's funny that video game tech is approaching the uncanny valley right about now. It was eventual that it would happen, and it looks like the PS4 and Xbox One will be caught up in the dip between "simulation" and "true realism"
I'll admit, the facial animations catch me off guard as well (Though L.A. Noire had the scariest of them all), it'll be fun to see how developers try to conquer the uncanny valley as time goes on.
It's because when something becomes too real we feel more the diferences, our brain notices that it is trying to be a human being but it isn't that's why we have this "creepy felling" Still I'm starting to like this, it's diferent and you will get used to it with time
Yeah, it's like when people are used to games that aren't too graphically realistic, so we think it's strange how fluid next-gen graphics or games look.
YourWorstEnemyPC yeah the valley started long ago...also, the problem is not that difficult for me, cutsecenes have looked like that for quites some time and these just happen to be ingame. In my opinion it get's better. I had no problem what so ever with these or others like in the MGS 5 footage we've seen.
