I'm hyped! It is indeed awesome and exciting that GKIDS is finally distributing a variety of animation from around the world again, and not being limited to Anime only.
After all, they distributed Cartoon Saloon (Republic of Ireland)'s Irish Mythology Trilogy (The Secret of Kells, Song of the Sea and Wolfwalkers) and The Breadwinner, as well as Ernest & Celestine, Boy and the World, MFKZ, Aya of Yop City, My Life as a Zucchini and the upcoming New Gods: Yang Jian.

As absurd as and morbidly fun as this looks watch it just get everybody right in the feels. And even if it doesn't have a big emotional bomb it seems fun enough anyway
I don’t know if you’ve seen it yet, but fun is not a word I would use to describe this movie. It’s a deeply dark, disturbing, and violent meditation on how fascism and religious fundamentalism targets young people in particular and strips them of their childhood innocence and makes them despise the innocent and vulnerable to the point of genocide
They also made bird boy, which in my opinion dark as hell
For 2 decades I've talked about how METAL and badass and dangerous Unicorns are and why they're my favorite. Now I have a fucking film to add as proof. I'm so thankful to be alive lol

Saw this at an animation festival screening yesterday. Amazing film! Doesn't pull any punches and definitely not for kids. But it's also not the shlocky "adult" cartoon I was kind of expecting. This is a very serious story about envy and characters driven to savagery by ideology/religion, even psychedelic experiences uncovering the "beast within".
Definitely heavy influence from Vietnam war movies like apocalypse now, platoon, full metal jacket.
Don't expect humour, except for the contrast between the cute bears with the funny names and the horrors they are engaging in and having to endure.
I really hope this gets a physical release. I'll buy a steelbook of it!
This look like a film adult swim would make if you give them an actual budget
a brutal instant classic with a cruel metaphor, a colorful group of tragic characters that hide in their hearts a heinous darkness, especially the blue one, their battles against the so called ''enemy'', ended with the birth of a mythological fiend, and the true beginning of the end !THE MAN HIMSELF¡, a shocking bloody masterpiece of Vazquez.
It really shows the atrocity of the beings that blindly follow the orders and the bible "gospel" as whole truth.
This couldn't be more accurately explained how each far right "ducce, Führer, Vrhovnaya vodyustvaya, ayatolah" or whatever aditional tittle there are for "supreme leader", on how they gain a rise in political and military power.
In LOTR, when Gandalf said that Frodo should pitty the Golum, i always knew there something wrong to it. This film in the essence proved my point you should never forgive an evil person (that person, who's soul is tainted with pride, vanity and envy), because people with those characteristics are irredeemable and unforgivable to begin with, since they will commit numerous atrocities and willing to do anything just to keep their ego intact which is already perverted and limited in boundary of said sins(pride, vanity and envy). Don't pitty those people or it will be your undoing.
Edit: I really enjoyed the movie, it was emotional Rollercoaster.
Usually all movies today have "good or bitter sweet ending", and that's a cliché to the typical storytelling.
I thought my "Gotta Watch" list was long enough.

Jaysus, I've never seen any foreign animated films like that before in my whole life. It looks very violent but it's supposed to be very good. It's definitely not suitable for kids as we know.
Anyway I don't know what age rating will be in my home country Ireland 🇮🇪 and the UK 🇬🇧. I'd say it might be probably rated 15.
