I think the best way to compare human to AI would be to go on a skewed world, since they model is likely guessing primarily off of climate/vegetation rather than meta.

Have you guys ever thought of running a losers bracket? Geogessr is definitely the type of game where you can lose to luck and I feel like having a losers bracket would help determine the better players. Also to account for this maybe not streaming every match so the tournament can run faster? You would have more matches to watch total if you use a losers bracket.

Instead of disallowing unofficial coverage, how about a tournament on a map with lots of unofficial coverage from all countries to test real geography knowledge/gut feeling?
A lot of unofficial coverage includes extra clues in graphics, copyright info, etc, so it actually is worse at testing real geography knowledge. Also if you play those kinds of "every country" maps you can see problems not just with camera quality and compass but severely misplaced locations.
@@ichheissedamian Balanced, but boring. Watching guesses that are completely reasonable get marked as vastly wrong due to a misplaced location is the worst.

It was definitely a misplay, but do know that Sudbury also has bilingual signs, as well as some towns in the 613. With 30 seconds it's very easy to miss/not consider a crucial detail.
