Why did you pull the headlights? I mean technically you don't even have to pull the radiator...either way, you guys pulled way too much...5 bolts and disconnect exhaust and wiring and that motor will lift out...today will be the 4th time I've pulled one
See? If it's your first Mercedes engine pull it's going to take a good long time...I remember the first time I pulled my diesel...took me 3 days...last time I did it? About 2 1/2 hours...if you know what you're doing already makes it a hell of a lot faster...
First remove the exhaust and gearbox bracket. These are placed under the gearbox and exhaust pipe. Support the gearbox on a jack with something to even out the weight on the gearbox's oil pan. The gearbox is connected to a round rubber wheel (I forgot the english name for it) This wheel has 6 bolts, with every other bolt going into the gearbox or driveshaft. Remove these bolts and the speedowire on the right rear side of the gearbox. Start lifting it out and remove the wire harness that goes to the starter motor. I think the speedo wire is connected to this harness aswell, but if it's not, remove the speedowire on the right rear side of the gearbox Thats it.

We took everything out to paint the engine bay. agreed over kill if only removing the engine.

They didn't do any research before they pulled...it takes me an hour to get it loose...it's held in by 5 bolts
