Thank you so much for doing this episode. Visited in fall of 2021 and Valencia is the first city that I honestly stopped and said, I could really live here. Such a great overall experience. Love your channel.

I have been to Valencia in 1999.a quarter of a century ago.... such a lovely city...probably the most relaxed, most stress free of Spain's major cities

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, attache is the best source for a video that is just the right length, and rich with great content to make you put whatever Alex just covered at the top of your travel list. I kid you not, I have, or I have convinced my broke college friends, who are no longer broke, my extroverted ass self who hated being alone, to travel and explore with whatever money we have and it with however much bravery I dare to have to travel or take a solo trip, and it always starts with Attache. I'm heading to Madrid, doing a side trip to Toledo, and to Valencia in4 weeks, earlier this year I checked off Vienna, in 2018 I got my friends to go to Rome, Barcelona, and later Zurich, like it's 7/7 right now, and I don't imagine that hit rate dropping, like ever lol.

Love your video! Yesterday was our 1 year anniversary of living in Valencia and this is 100% accurate. Moved here from the US and we absolutely love it and never want to go back. People really know how to live life here and it’s not as touristy, crazy, crowded, like Barcelona or Madrid, yet still has everything you would want/need in a major city.

    • @laurasebastian6036

@@aasthaparashar4062 well, you should visit the city centre: Bull ring, calle colon (shopping street), walk through calle de la paz, the town hall plaza, the plaza de la reina, plaza de la virgen, enter in the lonja de la seda, visit the arts and sciences, go for a drink in ruzafa in the evening or night, especially on Fridays/ weekends. Don't have paella for dinner, we only eat it for lunch, plus order the Valencian paella, no fish is involved, and especially never order a mixed paella, that is only made for tourists! Also, don't eat in any of the restaurants that are in the first line in the Malvarrosa beach nor in the city centre, they are all tourist traps! Casa Carmela is a bit expensive but you can go there once in a life time, it's amazing, if not you can go to Alquería del Pou, it's close to the arts and sciences, good prices, good location in a traditional field /house (Alquería), and the paella was very good, just like we make it at home. You need to book mostly everywhere tho, at least where locals go. Another good place is Saona, it's not Valencian food especially, it's Mediterranean food, but the quality is good and it's quite cheap, they have a restaurant in the Plaza de la Virgen, the menu is 11.95€ for lunch during the week (starter, main course and dessert), drink apart, its my favourite restaurant for going frequently and sitting outside (you can book online). You should also try the famous Valencian drink called Agua de Valencia, a traditional place for doing so is in the city centre: Cafe de las horas.
Extra: you should also go up the Miguelete tower, and enter in the cathedral, in theory the holy grail (the one that has more chances of being the original) is there!!

Perfect city on every possible way. One and only bad thing about Spain are low salaries but in Valencia that isn't a problem. Nice two bedroom apartment on good location can be found for less than 200k easily. City is big enough to have absolutely everything but not too big, it has amazing food, weather is great with mild winters and just 45 days of rain per year, it has very good transportation options, there are nice sandy beaches just 2-3 km from city center, sport clubs aren't that bad, Madrid and Barcelona are less than 4 hours away...

as a valencian, i miss those times where valencia was the hidden treasure of Europe.....without publicity.....with little and sustainable tourism.....those times when all looks where pointed over Madrid, Barcelona, and others cities and the most of people knew NOTHING about our wonderfull and charming city. One city made by her citizens....not even the rest of spaniards from the rest of the country.....only by valencian people, while Madrid, Barcelona and others had (like always) the support of the spanish budget, and goverment and media support that Valencia never had it. But....internet came in and our city It has become more and more well-known, major international publications such as Forbes have named it as one of the best, if not the best, cities to live in. So everything has gradually gone down the toilet for the Valencian natives who built this wonder for centuries. Waves of tourists who, as in Barcelona, fill the flats and increase prices infinitely, making it impossible to rent or buy an apartment in the city, mass tourism destroys traditional commerce, where before you could hear the Valencian language in the streets, today English predominates as a cultural invasion of people who come to take advantage of what others built for centuries. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against sustainable and reasonable tourism or controlled immigration, but this is unfortunately not what is happening

When I was 16 I told my mum I wanted to go Ibiza for my 18th birthday. She wouldn't allow it and I was quite rebellious thought she prevented me from going as my friends were talking about Ibiza. She said I'd be speaking English, drinking Guiness and eating fish and chips in Ibiza. She told me to go Valencia instead. There's tapas bars there, a beach and when I'm 18 I can get drunk as much as I want and drink authentic Spanish alcohol. I'd see culture in Valencia than Ibiza. I went and never regretted it.

What a pity about the Valencia CF in other time a glorious football team. Now we are a humble team fighting not to go down to the 2nd division.

It is a really beautiful city but the food is far from good.
Everything is microwaved so they bring it hot as lava!!
I have yet to find good coffee in the morning...
The prices are high for what it's offered. Sorry València...

What is a city? Shops, offices, roads, private dwellings and people shopping there, seeming. A city is a nature depleted concrete island for which we squandered the whole Earthm and our children's futures. You can go anywhere so long as you can pay. What kind of socially and historically mutilated creature would spend their life living in and touring in cities? So they can busying themselves with entertainment and food, while in Africa parents are loosing their children owing to increased severity and frequency of droughts, which are caused by people busying themselves wasting money on entertainment and food that for one day could feed an African family for a month? We may be creating new deserts across the global South, but every city too is a desert, and so too are our hearts when we live like this for too long. Too long is about thirty years, if that. But when you live in Mother Nature for any period of time, she changes every hour. She is constantly new. And the mind becomes more sensitive, clear, happy. When you spend time in solitude, over time your consciousness blossoms like a flower, and if you combine the two you might find out what love is, or truth. So why not spend your life make a travel video on bricks and pavements and shops, so we can all be encouraged to fly out there, like the living dead, to these cities who no matter how attractive they are, can never hope to approach the beauty, complexity, wonder and utter perfection that is nature, and enjoy whine and paella in the eve of the end of your children's futures. Why not prize bear and a posh meal more then the lives of hungry people from Africa, Afghanistan, Yemen etc, and why not admit to yourself also that you prefer your entertainment and enjoyments more then you care about the future of your children? The proof is in the pudding guys. You banked on the fact that you would die before the shit hit the fan. But the shit is already hitting the fan, and they know it. And I know it. And many people know it. And all those that don't bare the mark of complete ignorance, and prove to us all the inestimable cost of that ignorance. A part of you must see the truth of this. I don't blame you - I don't blame anyone: it's the appalling effects of our social conditioning, which is the social process conditioning the brain. But something has to break through that conditioning, because we don't want to see the total destruction of the perfect in the name of the imperfect, of our species in the name of individualism, the destruction of the actual - i.e. the true - by deluded forces that run on mere opinions, political convictions, assumptions, conclusions and other non-facts, when the only thing that has validity and value is a clear perception of what is, as it is. And when you perceive without judgement, you see a global social disease that has destroyed the whole organism of mother Earth and is now feasting on her bones.
