    Freedom to personally fly all ships:
    X4 will allow you to fly all ships personally. From small scouts over a wide range of ship classes up to the biggest carrier, everything can be piloted from the cockpit or an external view.
    A big focus in the development of X4 has been to achieve a seamless and immersive experience when moving between ships. You can leave a ship, climb down a ladder, walk over the dock of a large space station into another ship you may have parked there and replace the pilot that was working for you just by clicking on his chair.
    Modular stations and ship upgrades:
    Building space stations and factories has always been a foundation of the X games. After gaining enough money through fighting or trading, most players want to establish their own economy and start influencing the universe on a larger scale. In X4, it is now possible to be completely free and creative. Stations can be constructed from a variety of modules, be it production modules, living sections, docks or many other types of parts. The powerful new map system allows you to drag and connect modules using a connection system to design your own unique creations.
    Most dynamic X universe ever:
    X4 will be the first X game to allow our races and factions to freely build and expand their empires; the same flexibility the player enjoys in creatively designing space stations from modular building blocks is also available to them. Races expand their empire based on supply and demand, which leads to an extremely dynamic universe where every action the player makes can influence the course of the entire universe.
    Managing your empire with a powerful map:
    Once you have more ships and many NPCs working for you as pilots, crew or station managers, the map will be your preferred method of managing it all. Ships can be ordered with simple clicks and through drag-and-drop operations to set their future path and commands.
    Most detailed X economy ever:
    One of the key selling points of X games has always been the realistic, simulated economy. Wares produced by hundreds of stations and transported by thousands of ships are actually traded by NPCs and prices develop based on this simulated economy. This is the foundation of our living and breathing universe. Now with X4, we have taken another, massive step. For the first time in any X game, all parts of the NPC economy are manufactured from resources. Ships, weapons, upgrades, ammo and even stations. You name it. Everything comes out of the simulated economy.
    Research and Teleportation:
    The seamless change from ship to ship and from NPCs controlling your empire for you continues on a higher level. Once you own a larger fleet, you will be very interested in researching a technology from your HQ: Teleportation. Once you've unlocked teleportation, you can jump from ship to ship a lot quicker and experience all the critical situations your NPCs encounter first hand. Every order you have given to a ship before turns into a mission objective when you pilot the ship yourself. The moment you leave again, your pilot takes the helm and continues with their previous orders.
    Get into the game:
    In X4, you can start your journey from a number of different gamestarts and as a number of different characters, each with their own role, set of relationships and different ships and technologies to start with. No matter how you start, you are always free to develop in any other direction. Focus on exploration, make money with illegal trading and theft, command large battle fleets or become the greatest entrepreneur ever. It's all up to you to decide.

    X4 Foundations in a nutshell:
    Me: Hey, you! Random person standing next to the dock!
    Them: Huh?
    Me: Wanna work for me?
    Them: Sure!
    Me: Here's a ship, you're the captain now even though you presumably have no qualifications, are not trustworthy at all, and don't even speak the same language as me!
    Them: Uhhhhhhhhh....
    Me: Now go on, fly it around and explore for a bit! I need to do some other stuff. (walks off)

      also would be cool to see what happens if you saturate the market with an item. Like make a station making nothing but a ton of energy cells. Sell em for super cheap and see how the economy reacts to it. Not shur how you could turn that into a guide but would be interesting to see what happens in the long term

    • @TheRealNoodle
      @TheRealNoodle  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Noodle - Thank you, i believe doing such a thing would take a long time and would be quite hard to do considering new stations get build in the game by the NPC factions. i also don't know if they have their own credit balance to deal with. so from this i can only speculate that the economy would either freeze up, or just carry on as normal :)

  • @TheRealNoodle

    Noodle - Things i got wrong or forgot to mention in this guide:
    Habitat Modules:
    If you have habitats on your station you can start bringing in a workforce which will effect the efficiency of your station. The minimum efficiency for a station is 100% even without any workforce. This % will be increased with a higher workforce. (As far as i can tell)
    Stephen Carter From TH-cam:
    You should have [Mentioned that] as priority in building is important if you want certain items to build up before others are made ... also i think you did not mention blueprints can be stolen from stations when checking leaks (if doing mission it will fail) otherwise you can find them randomly and steal prints instead of buying them ;)
    Kalantris From Egosoft Forums:
    1. No need to travel to place a station, you just have to left-click the system where you want to put your plot in.
    2. Water doesn't go into liquid, it goes into container storage (I'm 99% sure).
    Thomas Forster From TH-cam:
    Could be that i'm wrong, but i think that i saw that water is considered a "container type" good in the game. When i was building my first station which produced water that i added a liquid storage to the station and nothing was produced. I added then a solid and a container storage and then it was producing and storing water.
    ScandyNav From Egosoft Forums:
    One hint on building station. You don't need to prioritise building container storage first. Production modules have their own container storage inside them. You only need storage for mine-able resources. Later you, of course, may extend container storage if you need it.

      I was wondering, have you encountered auto miners that mine but then do nothing ? I was reading the reddit and some players have listed some possible fix's. Have you expereinced this and if so did you find a fix for it ?

    • @TheRealNoodle
      @TheRealNoodle  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Noodle - I explain why the auto-miners you set to work for a personal station might not work in my guide where i explain how to build and manage a station. This is the only way i have used them in the game so far, so i won't have a reliable fix for you sorry.

      Really really nice vid on station building. I got a question though about habitats. For the station you built, can you only use a Teladi Habitat(for higher efficiency) since spaceweed is made using Teladi buildings or can you use Argon(human) / Paranids / etc habitats? Guess i'm asking is if i build a spaceweed AND spacefuel production in ONE station do i need to build 2 diff race habitat(s) if i want more efficiency or just multiple(or one big) habitats of the same race.

    • @TheRealNoodle
      @TheRealNoodle  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Noodle - Thank you! I honestly don't know because I have not used Habitats yet, but because it only says workforce and not something like Teladi Workforce, I would assume that you can have any workforce for any production modules you want. :)

    "Spaceweed"! Too funny! I just got the game, and even though the controls (and the ridiculous menu system) are awkward at first, I am getting the hang of it. I tend to like games that have a great deal of complexity, difficulty, and overall depth. And being a space sim is a big bonus too! I'm looking forward to installing more peripherals like a HOTAS and a programmable keypad, a headset/mic to use VoiceAttack, and eventually a good VR headset.
    Have a great day!

    1: Go around the galactic superhighway until you see a station quest (usually gives 4-12 million credits)
    2: build the stations to specifications

    This was simply awesome. Every sentence meaningful. Every point made where it was relevant.

    Faster Way to get Managers:
    1: Buy the cheapest ship, with the least amount of upgrades it can fly with (you dont need to be at the station to buy it)
    2: Make sure you employ the maximum crew (most pilots start with 2-3 stars)
    3: Select that new ship, right click on your factory and select: dock at factory
    4: Once docked, communicate with the pilot, tell pilot to work somewhere else, choose station, select manager role
    5: Promote new pilot on your ship, if new pilot has enough stars repeat step 3, else sell ship and repeat step 1 for next factory.
    - Its a quick and easy method because you dont need to fly anywhere, you can just sit in your ship and order everything through the menus.

    • @TheRealNoodle
      @TheRealNoodle  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Noodle - Yup this is good too, but you can communicate with any of the crew in the ship, not just the pilot, so you don't need to sell the ship at all. You just keep on filling up the crew and then tell your ship to land wherever you want a manager, whenever you build a new station. :)

    • @bydesign3169
      @bydesign3169 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TheRealNoodle An NPC can only manage a station if it meets the requirements. (In my experience that requirement seems to be for an NPC to have "more than 1 star"). When you buy a ship, most of the time only the pilot has more than 1 star. Most of the other crew have 0 stars and cant manage the station.

    Point to remember! Incoming ships will navigate to the plots center Map Icon point. On a large plot with a complex station build ships will thread their way into the Icon point first before heading to the dock. So when sizing your plot get the icon point close to the top or side where you are placing a dock. This stops the ships wasting time trying to get through your built station.

    Cheaper to get an EMP Bomb, find a module you want, get in your Space Suit, bomb the module and pick up the module blueprint by going into Suit Scan Mode and scanning the Transmissions the EMP Bomb has created.

    • @TheRealNoodle

    Great Guide. The only issue I had with the tutorial was when you were going through the construction of the station. You began to move a bit too quickly and it became difficult to follow the placement of some parts. Aside from that, very good job. Thank you.

    Nice Guide, but I think this might be helpful to your guide as well as it might be wise to note. When you have completed your blueprint of a station, and you are about to assign a construction ship, make sure the ship your about to hire has a lot of construction drones onboard, otherwise be prepared for a severely slow station build. as you currently cannot stop the build process of newly designed station (or even swap out the construction ship with another more efficient one with more drones)

    Ah yessss my favorite complex to build in x3 booze and weed the best way to dominate the universe, get them drunk and stoned. This has been helpful. I know how much money I need to get sorted before thinking about starting. I have some questions. Can you seal all the blueprints/ do you think its doable...or quicker to buy? Can you change the size of the plot again while building? And after the complex is built if you bought extra unused plot space can you reduce the size to exactly the size of the complex and get some refund? I assume you can add turrets and shields when ever you want Subbed and liked Welldone

    • @TheRealNoodle
      @TheRealNoodle  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Noodle - thanks for the sub and like :D
      1. I don't know if you can steal them all, i managed to steal a few but was never able to steal a swamp plant blueprint or a space weed blueprint also i think stealing them all would be very time consuming and repetitive. I suppose it would be quicker to buy them if you have a nice income though.
      2. You can change the size of the plot by clicking on the manage plots tab, then clicking on the green plot that you own.
      3. No refunds.
      4. Yes, you can just right click on your station then click on Plan Build to enter the station builder again, you'll also be able to add more modules to your station this way.
      I Hope this helps :)

      @@TheRealNoodle So I found a space weed and space booze production module. I hope that they are not faction biased :/ Anyway, 1st try on each, landed me the blue print I needed. So, if you want X blueprint, scan stations, this the + in your menu beside the station name, look at the modules, target it and you know how to do the rest. 2 blueprints, I think Ill go out on a limb and say 100% drop chance for that module

    • @vedatzilberman
      @vedatzilberman 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can craft EMP Bomb for your suit than place the emp to your desired module and bam (There will be 4 data leaks for you to scan) %100 blueprint. But this makes you a temporary enemy for that station so be carefull. And apparently you have a chance to got permanent trade subscription :)

    This was great. This helped me out a ton. I understand the logic behind it, but navigating the menus to find what buttons I needed to mess with was probably the most difficult part here.
    However, what comes with producing medical supplies and food for workers? Do the habitat modules already cover that? There are food and medical production facilities you can build for the factory, but is that required for the habitats, or what? That part I'm unclear on.
