Terrific video and a great set up. I agree.....there is no rule to say that you must plead poverty in order to be a ham operator. You don't need to be a mechanic to be a great driver. If you have the resources and not much time or patience, just get the gear you want and start enjoying! All the power to you!
Very impressive! I have been running an Icom 746 PRO for close to 10 years would love to upgrade one day to a 7800 , I think being able to display the radios screen on a computer monitor is just great. Thanks for taking the time to do this and 73's W5DPV
Hello james...You certainly won't be disappointed with the IC-7851. It's an amazing transceiver, everything on/in - it, Is just pure quality!. Thanks for the tour of your great shack again!. All the best!. 73

Gday James, greetings from down under. Nice layout indeed, I coulod feel right at home there! Love the mic, and yes understand in trying to find the right mic for ones voice. Remember the saying the timber of their voice? Has so many true characteristics. I've recently upgraded to the MXL 770. Have also the BCD1 that was pretty good but the 770 now I'm happy. It runs into a Behringer X1204 mixer and the W2IHY to match into my TS940S, TS430, or ICom 721. It's all still good fun and thats what it's all about, cheers mate thanks for the video which i jope to start getting around to one fine day 73's from daryl vk2eat
Hi there James, yeah I would have to agree, very nice looking shack is always. I'm just looking at a load of wires coming through a hole in my wall which makes me feel quite ashamed when I look at how yours is set up. I think it's about time that I did something similar to you. Basically I think I'll probably have about three or four coaxial cables coming from outside, what was that piece of equipment you had that made it more straightforward to run the cables from outside in?
Hi Penn, I have a junction box outside my shack, all cables go out from the cable plate in the shack and straight into the box out side, there is actually 9 cables in total but the 4 you see in the video are all for HF, the other go out at ground level and they are for vhf and uhf.. All the DX engineering filters are in the box and then all the cables go underground to the tower base.. The plate on the you see in the video is one I got in Aluminium and just drilled 4 holes in it neatly, and 4 smaller ones to screw it to the wall.. Cheap and neat bud.. Hope all is well with you bud. James G0SEC
Fantastic Shack all neat n Tidy not Cable or Wire seen Dangling or Loose Anywhere, a OCDs Delight lol. Impressive Kit , Especially the Logging Software n gies to tge Location , puts a whole Diff Insight who your talking with Great Vid 👍

The 7800 lovely as she was in now wold so i sold that on, The new radio will eventually me a new Expert MB1 but to start with I will have 2 x TS870's hooked up to the Expert SDR on a 4ft3 monitor on the wall and it will be nice the new shack. Just a shame it is taking so long, due to go in hospital for surgery then when i have recovered I will finish the new shack but its a long process to completion. James G0SEC
