I can see how the issue with having card-based gameplay can disrupt the flow of game. I feel like maybe they could've gotten around it by potentially increasing range for the aggro of enemies, or introducing some sort of mechanic that makes it harder the longer you take. It's tricky because you don't want to put a timer on how many turns like XCOM 2 did because that was very unpopular, but assume the devs didn't want you to stand there until you are ready for the next combat. Tactical games are not easy to balance. Nintendo gets it right half of the times with FE (they solved this issue with players turtling ages ago), the indie devs not so much (unfortunately)
Yeah this game is pretty kick ass, the gameplay was tricky at first but as soon as it clicked I loved it. The characters and overall vibe is charming and cozy while the battles feel very meticulous and engaging while also having some intense moments, like when you lose party members and have to change your strategy. I'm really torn here. I have been looking for an old school retro style RPG and this has potential. Are there any bosses? And how does the loot system work?
I like your style and delivery and so I subscribed. Had to cut out quickly on this one, though. I personally dislike 1990s style pixelated games. For me, it's no-buy in point and click games. I just gotta have something more artistic than pixels in an all ready low tech genre.
