Just let me say, Johnathan , that story was magnificent! I am just turning 60 this month (October 2022) and yes, my parents and grandparents were just like yours.

Jonathan, if you read the comments....I loved your story and the details. I'm 5 yrs younger than you and had the same type of dad. He became an electrical engineer for NASA but never stopped being a farm boy. I was rebellious but knew where that line was and never crossed it. I just knew better. Lol I remember sassing my mom and boy did I get into trouble with my dad. Anyway, like I said, love your story. Btw, thanks for stirring my memories. My dad passed 15 yrs ago and my mom 7 yrs ago. So the trip down memory lane was wonderful.

I hope that Jonathan kept on writing. I laugh at his story, approved of his father making a man out of him and feared for him when he had his encounter with the king and queen of the forest, Tears came to my eyes when his reacted so parental when he found his son in distress. And he did learn his lesson which helped him in the future as a married man and father----wonderful story and so well written,

I hardly ever comment but I feel the need to now. 💯 absolutely the best sasquatch/father story I've ever heard. My father raised me the same but being a skinny kid & a girl he never treated me any different. I had to go cut fire wood & stack it by the ranks. Shoot & hunt. Drive tractors & vehicles before I was 6. And so much more but then raising gardens & caning, freezing, cooking, doing laundry on scrub boards & even hanging them out in the winter. Coming home from school & cooking supper & mopping floors & painting then to doing our auto repair. Yes all before I was 13 I did all this. Killing game of any kind, dressing it & curing or freezing it. Children now days think parents are harsh because they want 5 minutes of their time to take out the garbage at 18 yrs old. Omg! And yes parents are to blame. I seen my teacher one time in a store & her 2 yr old was slapping her in the face from the front of grocery cart & all she would say was please stop son. Well being like my daddy n such.
, I just turned around after about 4 minutes & said. "Just bust his ass" & shut up. Take it outside because good parents are sickened by this mess of not having children mind or respect them or their elders anymore. And that's started all the lower generation never seeing us as elders or knowing our elders deserve all respect for their history/dictionary minds. Other cultures worship their elders as I did mine. Today's in America ... well the parents should be guilty of raising such Heatherns. 🤔😔🤬

WOW, Nance an Jonathan, what an amazing story! A natural writer, all right - and it's a lucky thing that Bigfoot female knew Jonathan was a juvenile and called her mate off. Yes, I believe some of these Sasquatch clans are ruled by matriarchs and they are every bit as formidable as the alpha males. Women's work for a Bigfoot is no joke! ❤

He may have been a little old school for my taste, but he was trying to raise a real man and i sensed he really cared about and loved his son and whole family. Yeah this encounter brings back memories of my Mom and Dad. I always liked helping my dad with cutting the fire wood, keeping the fire wood coming for the fire for canning what ever we got out of the garden. Helping my Dad was an honor and I liked learning what my Dad had to teach me while working. Sadly I never learned how to get a garden to grow. Some of my fondest memories are of helping my Dad and my Mom's uncle Roy cutting wood and felling trees uncle Roy had a real talent for dropping a tree right where he wanted it. My Dad would bring home a load of coal on the truck and it was my job to shovel it into the basement coal bin. My always came out to scrape out the bed of the truck. I made sure that was the load of coal was in before he came back out. Didn't matter daylight or dark I shoveled the coal all the same. Some of those times doing the work alone I was sure I was being watched from the woods. My Dad always said it was my imagination. After hearing wood knocks about fifty yards from the house I know what was watching me. Nance I love the long encounters. Short or long encounters I'll always listen. Thank you for the encounters.

My son was a sassy guy when he was 15. His Mom and I could have cheerfully drop-kicked him into the next county many time during that faze of his life. He became a dad early in his adulthood and we joked with him that he was going to get his own back soon. His reply to us was that it already had. He has done a complete 180 since his teenage. I admire him very much because he is an excellent father of three teenage boys. The boys are quite normal, but because their parents are like Jonathan's were. I know my grandsons will be just like their parents. All they need is to see a Sasquatch to round out their growing experience.

On the Oklahoma side of the Ouachitas they have signs posted to watch for Bigfoot.
Driving the roads around Talihina down to Idabel you just know they’re out there.
I live on the NW side of OK and almost every member of my extended family has had encounters with the big guys. They sent hair off to OU and OSU in the early 80s that came back as “unknown”between human and orangutan. That was way before DNA. They said the hair was 6-8 inches long and a dark reddish orange. It had been caught in the rose bushes when it ran around the house chasing the dogs. The dogs got away thankfully but later they listened to Bigfoot call in coyotes with the sounds of hurt animals. Finding the spot the next day they said it was a bloodbath with no parts big enough to identify left.

Agree Nance! Jonathan is a great writer and I loved his story! I loved his description of his Dad’s discipline skills and I think my Dad went to the same school! I picked up more buckets of rocks than the Grand Canyon could hold it seemed many times! Send in some more stories! 🍁🌻
