Im sorry, im confused... WHERE TF DID THIS HIGH QUALITY SHIT COME FROM?! I can't even begin to imagine how long it took to make all this. I am absolutely amazed, what a video! The blended audio effects, music, the fluidity of animation, the plot... Just wow my man
i noticed people talking about the references to Drive 2011, Baby Driver, and the Dead Center ending from L4D2, but not a lot of pointing out of the jacket and fingerless gloves Niko put on making him look more like Sasha from Behind Enemy Lines 2001 (who is a part of Niko's character inspiration), there's a decent amount of pop culture references in this that are seamlessly placed within an already good animation, so gotta give some extra credit to that
But that well-known reference is within the game already and not something created for this animation. Niko here puts on a Russian Ushanka too so it's unlikely the creator went for that look anyways
@@TheSuspectOnFoot i know it is already something in-game, but i wouldn't be surprised if that was a small reference on-purpose as well, since he isn't wearing the ushanka for most of the animation and ends up only wear the jacket and gloves anyway
@@diegotrvn752 not exactly "well-known" but i know it is a well-established reference, i still think it's nice to point out that extra layer of references to other forms of media, since the creator has definitely put in a few others intentionally no need to get overly combative over a simple positive comment to the creator, it's just an observation
The cinematography in this is actually really really good. The occasional shaky cam (but not too often), the building of tension when he was starting the car (rear view mirror peak is golden!!), the slight Dutch angles, the tracking shots - it all works with the narrative so well
The fact that even the watch was used (IRT) and was accurate to 'our ' vehicles position is a touch of genius. Let alone the 'car spray' being like a bomb of paint decorated the whole car.... again, brilliant job!
DUDE.. as a game dev and former animator I have to say this is another level of perfect :D if it is all ported into blender + everything animated by one person it sure took a chunk of time but it was worth it.
Dude, this video is incredible in every way ! the shots, the animation, the editing , and I love the genius idea of making certain game mechanics logical, like the watch or literally the paint bomb that instantly covers a car in a new color, explaining the quick entry and exit from the ‘Pay n Spray.’ Honestly, hats off to you, this video is also a huge motivation for my own projects. Keep up the good work partner 🤝✨
Not only pulled off an amazing Drive (2011) reference _I'm sure there's also more I missed,_ but used insane creativity, animation, camera choreography, all within a game from 2008. Props to TH-cam for recommending insanely high quality content from a smaller creator to my front page.
another banger from the one and only. The blend between cinematic animation and looking like the game got even better with this one, amazed at how fluid, yet not fluid some parts felt
After that ridiculous stunt with the column and the escalator at 1:13 I half expected all three of those policemen to do the same exact move and I would be lying if I said I was left disappointed when they did not. Really compelling animation. Any way to give people and their clothes less of a plastic sheen would go a long way though.
"This is art, Mr White!" I've never seen so much quality in a video like this, it reminded me a lot of Nicolas Winding's film "Drive". We NEED a sequel to this video, but this time Niko could be a getaway driver from bank robbers, he can use a Sultan RS to escape!
They use Blender, I am guessing, but it's definitely not SFM. SFM doesn't support ray tracing, and the sky effect at the start, how it's handling lighting, and the Liberty City Mall font all suggest Blender. How the cars move looks a lot like RBC | A Physics-Based Vehicle Rigging Addon for Blender, too. Although it could be Maya, I doubt that.
That slow-tension buildup in the alleyway was freakin' AWSOME!!! This entire video was AMAZING & the techniques you used for this are top notch! Stellar job mate!!💯
