I bought the PSP version of this game in 2021. I really enjoyed this game! It has a pretty great mix of platforming, combat and exploration, and the parts where you play classic mazes and the parts where you play as Pinky and Clyde (Blinky?) helped to change the pace a fair bit. I honestly feel disappointed how the fourth Pac Man World got cancelled.
Fun fact: the “wavey” effect that occurs when playing as a ghost is only in the PS2 version. I know this because I noticed that when I was playing the game on Xbox, this effect was completely absent. I also checked gameplay footage of the GameCube, PSP, and PC versions to see if this is the case, and surely enough, they’re all missing this effect as well. I have mixed feelings about this effect though. Some people find it annoying, others like it. I don’t like how distorted it looks, but I also don’t think it looks bad either. It’s different from a lot of other effects I’ve seen in games, and it does look kinda cool at times, but also very unappealing to look at especially up close. So my thoughts on this effect are mixed as well. However, what’s most interesting to me about this effect is that it is exclusive to the PS2 version. I wonder why this is the case because I noticed another effect in the PS2 version that is different from the other versions, like when the screen shakes each time pac-man slams on the ground. In the other versions, the screen only shakes after the last slam. It also doesn't help that all versions of the game suffer from occasional frame rate issues.
My guess is that Blitz used the PS2 as the primary console for basis of development. Actually, there are a couple other differences I noticed with the Xbox version, though they aren't necessarily positive ones. In case if you're wondering, notice the water in the Spectral Realm during the cut scene with Pinky. On Xbox, it doesn't flow whatsoever. I can't remember if it affects just that cutscene or every level within that landscape, but I have noticed it. I also noticed that the dot munching sound effect is the worst on Xbox, as it is lower in sound quality compared to PS2 and GameCube. Minus resolution and texture quality being lower on GameCube, this game doesn't really have that many differences from what I've seen. I will say, given Blitz's troubled history with the GameCube especially (looking at you, Taz Wanted), PMW3 is probably one of their better ports on the console.
@@ryanburke5549 That reminds me, The Fairly OddParents! Breakin Da Rules (developed by Blitz Games) on GameCube was also a pretty bad port. Not only does it exclude the bonus episode featured in the Xbox and PS2 versions, but it also suffers from extreme audio compression. The audio isn’t particularly good on any of the versions, but the GameCube version sounds overly muffled to the point that your eardrums probably exploded by the time the first cutscene finished. The Xbox version is superior in that regard. The best port Blitz developed for the GameCube is Cubix Robots for Everyone: Showdown. The sound quality in the GameCube version is slightly worse than the PS2 version, but it includes the Bubble Tunes music videos that the PS2 version, for some reason, doesn’t include despite the fact that the PS2 disc could hold more data than the GameCube disc.
Please do not label the PS4 footage as "backward compatibility" when it's clearly not. This is misleading information. PS4 cannot play PS1/2/3 discs, and this game was also never released on the PlayStation Store. This is clearly emulation, so in the future, please state that in the video or the description.

I noticed that as well, I grew up with the Pac-Man World games including 3, and I have never heard of it being on the PS4. and on the PS4 segments, it says 'backwards compatability" when the PS4 was not even meant to play any PS1, PS2, or PS3 games. the Xbox 360 one does make sense however, since the 360 does have backwards compatability with original XBOX games
I have the PS2 version and The GameCube version, The PS2 version looks more clear but it has incomplete OST which ruins the game for me especially in the “Gogekka heights” on fire level so I just stick with the GameCube version because it has all the OST tracks

There are more games that have this effect, such as GTA San Andreas on PS2, since this game has exclusive things that other versions do not have.
