A recent convo with a campground owner/operator. The Covid pandemic as well as the number of homeless persons, accelerated the need for or desire for, alternative housing. There are more "Homes on wheels" / "Van conversions" / "Schoolies" registered for use on the road, than there are RV sites available in campgrounds. I watch at least 5 new TH-cam videos of new homes on wheels, every week.
I do find it interesting how most builds don't include a normal dry bath. Being able to do normal everyday things as "residential" as possible would be my goal. Normal bed, couch, toilet, and shower would be my first 4 requirements.
Great couple. They both seem down to earth and they have so many interests like gardening and animals. Two things that I noticed here that I haven't seen on any of the other videos I've watched: 1. Couch cushions that are actually thick rather than the skinny 3 or 4 inch ones that can be comfortable only if you're under 30 years old😄. 2. Someone actually acknowledges that pooping sounds come out of a bathroom that no one else wants to hear 😂😂😂. Having a curtain doesn't cut it.
This bus build is so nice, I had to watch it thrice. LOL! Shout out to Holly & Dustin for such an awesome job! The cozy cabin-like feel and the design of the bathroom door are just a couple of my favorites. Way to go guys. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home. All the best to you 🙂
I know this couple and they are great people and I can also remember when there first brought the bus home when they bought it, to see it now is just absolutely amazing.
Oh, I so love this bus layout and color scheme! However, there are a few things I would change if this were mine’s. Would definitely have a shower/toilet combo inside of the bus, would have a max fan in the kitchen, and would also have an air conditioner in the bedroom. That is a must for me! 😉 But I gotta say, if I get a converted bus, it’s gonna closely resemble this wonderfully done interior layout/color scheme! Great job!!!!
Love the set-up! I have a Calico with muted colors too! I call her a Muted Calico. Back to the build, except for lack of shower, I could definitely live like that with my Muted Calico, my adopted cat from the neighborhood Tabby and possibly a young black male who's trying to move in. Anyway, love the design with some angles and a real bedroom!
Very beautiful design & decorating inside & out Ya never know what tomorrow will bring 🤷Very cool you became Entrepreneurs👍 I wish you both huge success & great Adventures Together 🐦
He's wearing a beanie and a hoodie, she's wearing a yellow t shirt. Makes me wonder what weather exactly they're in. Lol. Other than that, great build. Super functional and well thought out. Vibin' couple too. *chef kiss*
What a great home you have! The spice racks in the kitchen are awesome!! And the kitties are superb!!! Have fun and enjoy your adventures! Sending you light, love, peace, joy and abundance always! I love you.
Love the barn wood, I'm a big fan of it. Your bus is beautiful, really it is. Love the bed for the cats up front. I've never seen slide out solar panels, those are so neat. Also your succulent flower box is so cute. Happy safe travels to you.
I wished I could afford to get one of those buses and build it up something like what you got flat nose but I can't afford it on my income as a veteran that's on a fixed income I live in a tiny home as it is but at least I'd be able to travel and see some things with that one and have a place for my dog to sleep too while I'm driving down the road may God be with you on your journeys
This is a fantastic little bus home! I absolutely love the design and aesthetic of the interior and it's very similar to how I decorated my home. This is definitely my dream and at some point in the next couple of years I hope to have a converted bus of my own. In the meantime, I just enjoy looking at beautiful conversions like yours. Oh my goodness your kitties are just adorable all sprawled out and sleeping comfortably! Thanks for sharing your beautiful home and happy travels to you both!
Congratulations on a fantastic build. Gorgeous aesthetics..love the skull light - the use of wood throughout is great. Kitchen setup is perfect. Actually the whole thing.. Excellent practical advice. Beat of luck achieving your homesteading aspirations. Continued happy travels and hey from Australia.
@@liskalangdon6576 yes I did. Couldn't think of living without a real bathroom. Here's a link to show you what it looks like ☺️ th-cam.com/video/WAi6h9sT_w4/w-d-xo.html
I grew up in a house with a toilet in a closet off the bathroom. We called it the WC (water closet) or the biffy. I'm amused that that's what you kids have! 😎
Love the wood paneling and the large cast iron sink. Love that you have a normal sized fridge and a washing machine. HOWEVER, don't understand how you could have compromised an inside shower when you have so much space in that bus. An outside shower is not practical in cold weather. I don't know if you travel outside of Arizona, but I understand that even in Arizona it gets cold in the winter. I, also, like the heater you have. Your house is so cozy, however, that in order to up the coziness of it, I would have gotten a cast iron stove. Nothing like a wood burning stove in the winter. Anyway, that's just my personal taste. It's a lovely home regardless of my small critiques.
You’re bus looks great. Question on the solar panels, did you do them with the slide outs so you could tilt them for the best performance? It looks like they do tilt. Do you manually pull them out? And how do you lock them in place ?
We put them on slides so they didn’t take up precious deck space. They manually pull out but I plan to put them in actuators. They are currently on locking slides.
Yes. Cable management is a must. My boss always told me" Make it organized & neat. Even if it doesn't work. That can be fixed. No one wants to touch a rat's nest of wires."
I love what you did and what you’re doing and what your plans for the future are. Looks like we have the exact same bus and I do follow you on Instagram. You are an inspiration for us! I’m still building out, my bus, alone, off grid, and in the desert.
What a beautiful schoolie you have. You might like Michigan. We have great places to build your shop. I live near Holland Michigan. I think this would be a great place for your shop. I really love your home.
@@Sasquatters Right now it's hot outside. We have colder weather in November December and January and part of March. I just wanted to let you know about Michigan.

My ?? My question whenever I think about a tiny house or schoolie--is when you are opening the door and in a new place, how do you keep pets (I have 4 cats) from runnin out and escaping.

I have two cats and they hate driving in the car but would love them to be with me when I travel in the bus I plan to build out. My cats also love the outside and no longer use a litter box.
