Forgot to mention..not all bites are created equal. I've been nipped but I was with someone once who had chunk taken out of her thigh the size of a plum. It was an ugly, life altering wound..and then there was the family who stopped to feed apples to horses on the side of the road and their toddler lost a finger. Also some of these horses have administered potentially lethal headbutts to old people who fall. Not a good look. The people who assign these riders and mounts can do better. This is such a beautiful historic place to visit. Too bad people who are so excited to be there have to be exposed to horses that could alter their life much less ruin their holiday. Just because they failed to read a sign and because they were unfamiliar with horse behavior. Most of the riders are actually good horsemen and very respresentative of the fantastic men who serve their country. It is an honor to watch them represent their country.

But some horses do. Just last week Ormonde did three shifts. 10 till 11, 12 till 1 and 2 till 3. I saw this with my own eyes so don't tell me I am wrong. I was not implying that the horses were not well looked after, of course they are. Some of the horses are happy to do alternate shifts but others are not. Some horses have bad days and don't want to be in the box at all.
Then it shouldn't be a problem for the guard to maintain control of the horse. If a horse is this upset in the box it should have another duty assigment or a more conscientious rider.
It is a big animal who does not know them. Of course they are at risk. I fail to understand why people are compelled to touch the horse. They have no empathy for the horse, no consideration for it. The mothers who push an uncomfortable child onto the horse when they are obviously afraid or stand next to the horse with babe in arms and young kids between her and the horse. Adults should stay on the less safe side of horse, traffic, unknown dog.

I have been kicked, but never bitten. My instructor, however, was leaning against a paddock where a stallion was standing. The stallion grabbed him by the trapezius (shoulder) and cause a muscle separation. It was no minor injury. It doesn't take a stallion to cause that kind of injury. Respect the damn horse!

I watched 2 other youtuber videos on same incident....shows woman approach horse, horse goes for 1st bite and woman moves quickly away. The male companion then moves woman back towards horse telling her to "get out there,play nice"... then bingo... horse bites her. Shocked with look of confusion the woman yells... "Mike!?" 😧 Mike then pushes woman and the couple walks away & can be seen standing by fence looking at/using their phone, rubbing her shoulder...then they walk away. 😂😂 They sounded American.
I'm an American raised on a farm and had horses and I feel for these ones on the videos! People need to to know every animal needs their space. Tourists act like they have no boundaries or brains. Been around horses most of my life and been bitten by any number of the "best". That horse did not bite her, maybe it nipped but all that got nipped was a shank of hair and she jumped before the lips bately touched her. The sign warns about biting and kicking but she still backed up to him in a manner that was sudden and pit to spook him. Given how many really badly injured people wait long times for an ambulsnce she should be ashamed for taking one out of circulation for getting her hair pulled.
The guard was concerned. He kept looking down that way at her.
Stop touching the horses. I notice if 1 person does everyone does. These gaurdsman and horses should be respected.
People don't think of horses as dangerous animals if they are not used to them

OMG ! I’ve been a Paramedic 🚑 for 30+ years. Patients are not “rushed” to hospital. Why would they be - is a Paramedic not trained to deliver clinical intervention ? Do you think they just “drive” a van ? How naff 😡😡😡
