this song played when Kaneki was tortured made me got goosebumps, i can feel him cry from inside, i was thinking 'pls let him die, it's better than let him alive😢'
TK is actually an amazing highly technical guitarist, he plays mainly with his band Ling Tosite Sigure (it's a three piece band, they do some progressive rock, post hardcore, post rock kinda sound) the band is amazing btw (twin male and female vocals with his bassist, playing with their amazing drummer, they have great melodies, with some complex rhythms and time signatures), this song is part of his solo project he releases through the name "TK from Ling Tosite Sigure". His songwritting, composing and producing abilities are amazing. The guy founded his band in 2001 and was single handedly composing, writing, producing, performing on guitar, arranging everything even made his own label and released everything on his own for almost 10 years until he got a deal with Sony Music but still continues his amazing work till this day, he is a perfect example of an artist who lifted himself up from nothing all while still consistently producing high quality music. It's pretty sad in a way that this song is what people know him for but the guy has an amazing discography

not many people can appreciate or understand his kind of music but I'm really glad that he continues to make his music instead of catering to the wider audience, which he could since this song is so iconic. i really like his discography and yesworld was probably one of my fave songs from him so far.
For every person who’ve read the manga and seen the anime. The OP song Unravel is simply beyond perfection. The depth of the song hits harder and deeper and like Waleska said this song makes you feel something
This song is hardly the same without the instruments behind it , it adds a whole new level of frustration and feeling if you really wanna hear the song at its best listen to a live version, the song is hardly the same without the instruments

You should try Tokyo Ghoul. 2 seasons anyway, you'll be able to binge it :).
But for a personal recommendation, Overlord anime series has great songs and a great story line. Also, Demon Slayer, you've already reacted to LiSA's Gurenge ;)

Tokyo Ghoul has turned my life upside down..... It's such an amazing work, I read the manga and also watched the anime, I swear this has quotes on every dialogue, on every line, I could see their views, how they interpret their experience, their view on life and purpose, I got goosebumps every moment, it made me question my morals and actions and overall life choices, it left me speechless, all the characters were absolutely amazing, the build up is phenomenal, this is a legendary creation, even though the anime changed points but I still appreciate it because that also showed us different views, Ken Kaneki is absolutely the most complex character in the anime history, I hate him, I love him, I spent days and months and years trying to unravel these characters, and I love that they leave me lost in my own thoughts, and Toru Kitajima has opened an entirely new world to me, his lyrics, his hermonies has left me broken, hasmade me respect him more and more every day, I can't express how much he means, how valuable this guy is, he has a beautiful mind, his views and expressions are absolutely amazing. If you listen to his other songs, they just leave you speechless you know, like 'Signal' (91 Days OP) has left ne a crying mess, it warmed me, all his songs are equally amazing. And I can't imagine Tokyo Ghoul without Unravel or Toru Kitajima and vice-versa, Ken Kaneki and Toru Kitajima is the most perfect thing that exist in this world.
Took the words from my mouth. Tokyo Ghoul has changed my Iife, too. The work they did is phenomenal. I read the manga and also watched the anime and loved both (loved the manga a little more, though). I practically live by some of the quotes. You're not the only one who was/is able to see their views and notice how they interpret their own experiences & how they saw life and purpose. I got way more than goosebumps, i got chills and shivers! My morality, actions and identity were was also questioned. As well as my life choices. I Completely agree with you, man. The characters were amazing, the build up, development and symbolism is godlike. I do also kinda appreciate the anime changing points due to witnessing different sides and views of all the characters. Ken Kaneki is the most complex character in the anime/manga. Love him or hate him. Again, you took the words out of my mouth. I also spent a long, long time trying to *unravel* the characters and, yeah. You're not the one who got lost in their own thoughts. I agree and feel exactly the same way with what you said about TK. I actually nicknamed Toru Kitajima "The Crow". Due to him wearing black & his low, belchy and high, screechy vocals. I also love his lyricism and producing and everything else, including his music with Ling Tosite Sigure. Yes, I feel the exact same way.🖤🐦⬛🎸
They completed the anime but it's a bit different from the manga so some puritans hate the anime. Personally I like the anime. This is one of my favorite anime song BTW.

It's more like the manga is soooo great and awesome and if was animated the way it was deserved and after being dissapointed that such didn't happen ppl started hating on it. I love the first season still but yeah after reading the whole manga u understand why ppl be like that

5:03 A Silent Voice?????? Omg don't get me started, I can write a whole essay about that movie. I have watched it like 5 times and every single time it makes me cry like crazy. But I think it's because the story hits too close to home. I've struggled with a lot of the things that are addressed in the movie so I relate a lot to the characters and yeah I LOVE that movie. And omg the animation is BEAUTIFUL.

there’s 4 seasons for it, they ended up finishing the story but the manga is definitely much better

Piko is a Japanese singer you guys should definitely check out. The ranges he can go through are crazy. His cover of magnet is interesting because he sounds like a female for part of it then goes super low

4:30 No way you thought Tokyo Ghoul was overwhelming, I can assure you guys that there's so many other animes that are way but WAY darker and explicit. And there's actually 4 season I believe, I watched 3 and then I lost interest since the only good season was the first one in my opinion. I'm not a manga reader but I know that they changed a lot of the original plot that's why a lot of fans where disappointed.

4:25 The two seasons are supposed to cover the entire story. As someone who doesn't read mangas and just watches animes, the second season just doesn't really make much sense. The first season was good and then things seem to just start randomly happening with no explanation why and motives that make no sense. Seems this is a popular opinion by the people who've watched it, which is why I find it odd that people still seem to love the anime so much.
Basically they changed storylines completely, skipped entire arcs, condensed a lot of content into a single season and even made up non-canon storylines of their own. While doing all this, they still bring in some plot points from the actual manga and even have whole parts in S2 referring to stuff that anime-onlies have never even seen. I got this from looking up what others were saying online after finishing it and it seems generally accepted that S2 was a disaster.
The world is interesting, the story is intriguing, animation is usually quite good and as we can tell, the OST is awesome. However, the execution of the story is enough that overall I rated it like 6-6.5/10. I just didn't know what the hell was happening for most of S2.

Try to watch Arcane, or Attack on Titan. My recommendation, for both of us hate Naruto for too much talking before/while fighting.
I think the anime would be pretty good if I hadn’t already read the manga far past the end of the first season. The character building and pacing in the manga is just weaved so well that even subtle timeline changes felt completely plot-breaking for me. I think the plot is just too complex to package and piece together something that can stand as 12 episodes and the second season Tokyo Ghoul A was just moving away from the manga plot. It’d be like squeezing Breaking Bad into 12 episodes; there’s just not enough room for the character complexity and “descent of man” plot.
What you found boring in Naruto were the "filler" episodes. It's unavoidable for animes that are broadcasted every week non stop. The anime always catches up with the manga ( that is still written at that time ) and in order to give it time, they stop the main story and use filler episodes that have nothing to do with it because they have to let the manga being written but they also have to broadcast an episode per week to keep its audience score, so they use episodes like "Naruto goes at the beach, Naruto plays chess or Naruto has flashbacks during an entire episode about stuff we already know"
It's not the best experience for the viewers, but it's the cheapest and safest way to make money for animation industry, because the alternative is to do short seasons with only the true manga's story, then stop them for an undetermined amount of time then resuming months or years later when the manga actually has enough material to be translated into a new season. This method is the best experience for the viewer, but the company makes no money at all during the long periods between each seasons, and it's also risky because sometime the hype dies in that period and viewers jump to other licenses to watch.
Tokyo ghoul for example, wasn't an industrial anime but a seasonal one, that's why you didn't have dull or boring moments in it : it was only 100% of the manga's story in short and condenced seasons :)
I know it's a big explanation, but maybe you'll better understand what you didn't like about Naruto ( or One piece, or Bleach or any other industrial anime ) ^^

I've seen Tokyo ghoul and it was very intense. It kind of reminds me of Attack in Titan with the depth of its story (please don't fight me) and the fact that they both have morally grey characters. The anime did go on to have 4 seasons I think, but it doesn't have all the details that the manga does. And you guys were right, TK's voice just has so much emotion! This was my favorite tokyo ghoul opening until Co Shu Nie's "asphyxia", which I definitely recommend! Thank you for your reaction
