May I ask what did KPMG expect you to have when you apply to transaction service? I just got a personal interview at Complex Transactions Group position and I can't find much information about it. Hope for your reply.
Nothing really - the bar for entry is pretty low except from the 2:1 degree you just needed to have good motivation in terms of why you're interested in the division, what excites you about M&A , and be able to have a conversation about the industry and also be able to answer competency questions well, and motivation to join KPMG over other companies
Ill make a vid on salaries soon - by associate , do you mean graduates (analysts) or ACA qualified (Associate)? sometimes people use the terms interchangeably Analyst 1/2/3 - 28.5/30.5/35k Associate 1/2 - 60/62k

yeah yeah we get quite extensive training when we join - usually lasts around 2-3 weeks before we start actual project worK but most of the learning is through mentorships by the senior associates and managers tbh i can make a vid on this

Hey hey glad you liked the vid Nah you wouldn't need to know any of the tasks or accounting and technical aspects But you would be expected to have an understanding of the M&A and financial markets from a commercial perspective What's deal activity like, what's happening in markets, any notable big M&A transaction, interest rates etc

(something like... the current interest rate rise and declining market/global condition mean that a lot of businesses might be forced to sell at a much lower valuation in the future.)
