One of the most beautiful throws in Judo.

how do you possibly break fall on this one when being thrown. Both hands are tied

You can use your legs, when thrown right handed hit the mat with your left leg stretched out (right leg when thrown left handed).

looks like it will be nightmare for a tall guy like me to be thrown like this with two hands tied by a short and chubby guy. most likely my head will crush to the mat first lol!

This is one of the softest landings you can think of for a forward throw. Your hips may hit hard, which is why you need to have legs engaged to distribute the impact.

@@pignokor5536 6'3" here and I can tell you it is a concern. What you have to learn is to go with the throw. The more you resist the more likely you are to be injured

I'm very sure that hand to sky is a mistake taken from the traditional version. I havent seen 'hand to sky' once in a high level competition.
Also the kneeing in variation 2. Noone does that in competition. you should always aim to overrotate. Ppl need to stop thinking the Kata versions from mifune and kano are the best way to do the throws. we know better by now

With this kind of ego, you're going to have a lot of painful lessons. The throw is fine, and the guy doing it is an expert who knows his stuff. He demonstrates a few different rotation levels, all of which work to accomplish a tight, snappy throw. Nage No Kata does not have Sode Tsurikomi Goshi in it, it has regular Tsurikomi Goshi. In Sode, the job of the off hand (normally lapel) is to load uke up on tori's back. It shoots up to create tension and an opening to pivot into. It may look a little different at full speed with full resistance, but the movement is the same as demonstrated. Judomatlab has a nice collection in his front pivot analysis video.
