One thing I forgot to point out, this is the only car which shows a significant difference in performance and fuel consumption between Ron 97 and Ron 95. I normally experimented on 400km trip (Kuching-Sibu). It feels zippier with Ron 97 and it consumes less with Ron 97 too.
Me drive 2004 avanza 1.3 manual...bought in 2019 and still using it...just like u say, the engine is very reliable and affordable maintainace..the bumpy spring is the negative one but overall its a reliable car...good job for the vid...
When my parents and I used to live in Malaysia, they owned a maroon 2004 Avanza. They bought it used at 40k km and sold it to a friend with just over 110k km in 2021. Made lots of trips with it from Penang to KL
Hi. Both Avanza and Alza are having the same reliable engine and transmission. If you can find one with a good deal and decent condition, you won’t be disappointed. The Alza looks quite nice too. Alza comes with 1.5L while some Avanza has 1.3L. Do check the specifications carefully if you are looking at Avanza.
thanks, i never understood how other avanzas are so messed up, now i understand because they are used as a taxi, in South africa but if you dont abuse the car it becomes reliable, thanks for sharing this
As an Avanza owner, i admit all of likes and dislikes. EXCEPT the cabin filter. IMO maybe this car is CBU Indonesia so some of the spareparts/accesories are rare… even if any, they're expensive Greetings from Indonesia✌️
I have avanza 2010, 80k driven using engine oil 20W50 from start. Is this the perfect oil grade? I am getting poor fuel average around 7 to 8. What should I do? Please guide
Generally I use full synthetic oil because it’s more efficient and thinner than regular oil. I use oils such as 5W30 however it depends on where you live. Some places with extreme weather, you might need 0w40.
@@sarwarkhan9658 I assume you have a different powertrain there. You might need to change fuel filter as well. I changed once. I also changed the transmission oil.
@@Adrian-ml5bv you want to increase the width from 185 to 195? First, you need to check with the tyre shop if it can be fit in. If so, it should not be a problem. Bigger and thicker tyres can absorb road bumps better but the car might feel a bit sluggish if new tyres are much heavier.
@@wowcarwow do you ever happen to know about the radiator fan speed of a 2007 avanza 1.5G A/T? Is it single speed or does it have low and high speed? I’m trying to search for it online but i can’t find anything.
Thanks for sharing your experience. I’m going to buy one! Since it’s a practical car!

1.5L Auto is a good choice.
We love the space in the Avanza but it’s a bit rough and bumpy.
I agree that this is a very bumpy vehicle. It's like sitting in a lorry LOL!
It is helpful sir..im gonna buy my firstcar, a used car actually..need some review for a usedcar
Thanks for the review. I’m still thinking whether to get the avanza or perodua alza. Which is a better buy for family town use Mr Cheang?

do you have a problem once going uphill with full passenger?
No problem. Recently we went up Kundasang Mountain with 7 passengers. At the top of the mountain, some parts are very steep.
