I got 16 months of sober time.. God has blessed me tremendously through AA meetings in a meeting celebrate recovery and I can honestly say I feel closer to God's people in meetings than I do on Sunday morning at church...💙🙏🤠
We find, in those rooms, that we have a disease which cannot be cured. HOWEVER, one day at a time, WITH A HIGHER POWER, OF OUR UNDERSTANDING, we work the most spiritual program to stay sober and help others do the same. It encompasses us in all areas of our life and we learn to forgive ourselves as well as others. Serenity comes, slowly BUT SURELY.
Thank you for your words. However, meaning no disrespect, you can be healed from this demon. I was. Completely healed. I no longer call myself an alcoholic because Jesus healed me! I'm set free. I pray you find that healing as well.
We do not come in seeking Jesus. We seek sobriety. It's God as you understand. It is not a religious program. However some do go back to their religious origins for their spiritual direction. There us not wrong or right. It's as we understand
I'm a part of C/R in an inpatient rehab. i chose this song before I did my testimony. After I was done i did the prayer for salvation and 12 people have there lives to Christ!!! Praise God to Him be the Glory
As an undergrad social work student, I had an assignment to attend an AA group. I will never forget that experience…even though it was an open meeting, I was the only woman in the room, but those men were so warm and welcoming to me, treating me like a sister who was along for the journey. I was humbled by their honest vulnerability and willingness to encourage each other with their stories. One statement particularly resonated with me. After interacting with triggering people, they silently pray, “Bless them. Change me.” I use that in my own life now, and whenever I can I give credit (not by name, of course) for that statement to those amazing men. ❤

I know this hits home for those who were former addicts now walking free, but this speaks on how church should be, the gathering in one accord, where truth heals as the wounds are revealed, not just exposed and then torn down. They are also what started steering me back towards God and gave me the absolute best woman I could have possibly asked for 🥰 even if HE did call her home to heaven two years ago 💔😭
I just heard Unspoken perform in Lamar, Colorado. This was one of my favorites that they performed and I’m so grateful that I found this song. My recovery story has been long and tiring but I feel encouraged that it will continue to get better through Jesus. 🙌🏽✝️

I love the video graphics here. I don't know about "more church than church" though Yes, church should be a place for sinners who come humbly, but it's primarily not about us at all. A Sunday morning service, for example, is about all of us coming for the purpose of worshipping God, hearing his Word so we can rightly apply it in our lives, as well as build each other up in the process. If you're talking about church as the body of believers/ the Christian community - the same is true. We all come with our baggage, yes - but that's not the focus. Should there be times of discipleship for those struggling with addiction? Absolutely, but that is just one important aspect of a thriving church, not the identifying marker.
Little c church, yes. What you said. That's the building. Big C Church is the community of believers that is supposed to be there for each other and support each other and grow with each other in Christ. The big C Church is failing in America.

Came , came to came to believe either God is or he isn't met Jesus in AA and I do both AA & Church. Personally I did just AA and just church I need noth for FULL recovery. Revelation 2:4-5
Also part of my story NA AA CR all with a message and a mess but saved my life!!! showed me how to live without drugs and alcohol. Then God was able to get to work changing things as I let Him! He is so Good!
