That “who’s going to drop dead” mentality is what got me through so many tests. Thanks for the video! I just took my NCLEX this morning (shut off at 75q 🤞🏼). Tentatively accepted a position, and am so excited to start.

YES! ALWAYS question orders that seem off. It’s good to always say hey “I wanted to make you aware of XY & Z. Do you want me to follow through with this order?” If the provider refuses to acknowledge you, DOCUMENT.

Most of your audience gets it too. I'm an old Nurse. Been at it over 40 years. It's like a breath of fresh air listening to your audience and your videos. Wow. I'm impressed. And thank you for wearing your hair out of your eyes. Some Nurses look like the homeless, thinking they look sexy with their hair in their face. You go girl.

Thank you for this video, I started as an ER tech then ER nurse as a new grad and it was too much for me plus I went through bullying as well. I now just was offered a position in an ER. I definitely have to refresh my memory on so many things but I am confident I will have a great team that is reliable and I will learn more than I already have from doing cardiac intermediate care for two years. Thanks again, I love your channel!

Carle I SO appreciate your video!! I am still on orientation at a level II trauma center and it is super challenging even though I have been a nurse a long time, and have done alot of critical care nursing. I have always wanted to learn and work ER nursing and finally getting the opportunity. With busy busy ER and low staff and high turnover, its even more challenging...but I am actually liking it as I enjoy the fast pace and challenge of detective work that it poses...Your 5 tips are excellent and so very helpful. There has been SO much information thrown at me in the last 3 weeks of orientation, this helps consolidate

my tip is to TRUST YOURSELF in this! BELIEVE That you have come this far in nursing even if you're a new grad...to be able to do it; and just as Carle said, " if you have the passion to do ER nursing you can do it!" Because we all know there are enough bullies and naysayers out there. Don't let them win. ER needs compassionate kind nurses.

You have me anticipating working in the ER now! I always thought Mother Baby was what I would like to do. Hearing your tips, I was a server & have the mindset to be an ER Nurse.

Thank you so much for this video!!! I graduate in December and I am still trying to decide what area I want to go into. I love trauma and would love to work the trauma bays at the Trauma center at my hospital. It is a level 1 trauma center. I am also interested in trauma ICU and would even be happy in NICU or PICU or even just Peds. Again awesome video.

If I were you I would email the nurse manager for the unit and express your eagerness to want to learn and your passion for that field of nursing. Ask about a nurse internship and ask is there any way you could apply for it. And end it with thanking them for the time to read your email. Since you are not in their work system make sure you include your personal email and even phone number lol

I just finished my first semester of nursing school and I love the ER. I’m so interested in emergency medicine, but I’m scared that I might be too timid. Does it get easier with time or do you have any tips on how to build confidence?
