      I did enjoy but just have to ask, what music do you use for the series? It's great, relaxing and I'd like to listen to it often. Thanks!

    The first one is nightmare fuel 😂 a documentary style episode like you’ve just released for itv about the history of Nickelodeon and all its ventures (hotel etc) would be cool!

    Now this is a blast from the past! As a nickelodeon fan, I watch real shows like rugrats, spongebob, rocco's modern life and more. But now there's new shows like Middleton post and the Patrick star show. But still, this is the best ident review from 90's babies everywhere.

    • @AdamMartyn
      @AdamMartyn  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I grew up on a lot of the 'classic' Nick shows too! I just think the modern programmes are for the current generation of kids! But I'll always hold a soft spot for the 90's batch!

    Are you planning on doing the idents for Jetix, the successor to Fox Kids? Or even the 2006 Nick UK idents?

      Leave me a link to some of them and I'll check them out to see if they would make a good episode!

    It’s weird because the day before you posted this video I saw a documentary about the history of Nickelodeon.
    Maybe it’s me but the first ident creeped me out.

    • @AdamMartyn
      @AdamMartyn  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Talk about coincidence! The first ident is a little unnerving compared to the others! I like the classic feel of it, but I can see why they changed it quickly!

    This is the first time you do an ident review of an Nickelodeon television channel, Martyn!
    Also, if I did like an ident that you find underwhelming, such as the "Billboard" ident from BBC Two and the BBC Knowledge ident before closing down, then that's _just_ my opinion.

    Actually, Pinwheel was the show that aired on the channel. The actual name before it became Nickelodeon was C-3.

    Nice video Adam Then in 1991 was when Nick Toons released

  • @PhirePhlame
    @PhirePhlame 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    The early bumper set for Nickelodeon, from 1979, mainly relied on a mime character. Only a few seem to have survived, but these are definitely more childlike than the one shown here, though it still is quite old-fashioned in style for the time. If I had to guess, it almost seems as if they bet too much on the old philosophy that kids never change. Like, it's not an unsafe bet since that is true to an extent - something that appealed to kids before is probably still gonno have some level of appeal to them today (assuming it still reflects well on today's moral values ofc). Still, diminishing returns are to be expected unless you make the effort to connect with what's popular with kids _today._

    • @PhirePhlame
      @PhirePhlame 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As for the "silver ball" bumper set, they generally showed various activities that were popular with the youth. At the time, there seemed to be a focus on teens in addition to kids, as further evidenced by shows like LiveWire (entertainment talk with a youth focus). The "Nick! Nick-el-o-de-on!" jingle is also imo nearly as catchy.

    I how you notice this and remember me
    tbh, ever since I was kicked out of the discord I’ve stopped watching you
    I was filled with anger, rage and sadness at the time when I was kicked and each time I’ve wanted to watch you, I’ve been putting it off. Of course, now I understand why I was kicked. I loved this community due to it’s friendly nature and kindness to others including me. I promise, when I turn 13, I’m coming back in the server. But I’m the meanwhile, I’m coming back into the community (not going in the discord of course)

    As a fan of animation I was a Nickelodeon kid as well and I really like the shows for both their charm and their animation style. favourites include SpongeBob Rocko‘s modern life and Rugrats for Unique style. The loud house and Casagrandes for their comic strip style. Chalkzone and my life as a teenage robot for their charm and there story arcs. And Ren & Stimpy for their throwback to classic cartoons A show that will definitely be remembered (but I can’t say the same for its creator.)

    This is false, in the Silver ball era, mostly in 1983, the ball would change to “nick” and then “nickelodeon”.

    I didn’t realise that Nickelodeon was that old.
    I remember that early 90s one but not from 1993 as we didn’t get Sky until the late 90s so they must have kept it a whole.

      I think the kept the '93 one for a few years, with other idents mixed in as well! May be saving some of them for Part 2! 👀
