@@killer75009 in this case, not really; whenever Sonic games on the genesis leave out channels, it's always the PSG channels. The PSG has three square-wave channels and one noise channel, and that's it. The in-game sound effects are mostly FM sounds, and possibly some noise sounds. The main reason PSG channels get left out is just that there's simply not really many ways to use them. Typically, a pair of harmonizing square waves and some hihats from the noise channel is the most you can reasonably use from it.
@@killer75009 nah, the first part of that is correct -- when the game needs to play a sound effect, it will simply "steal" one of the music channels temporarily, so whatever music notes would've played at that time on that channel will be missing. This song sounds so complicated but when you see it, it's really simple and most of it's echo but once again. That Bass and DAC COMBO! I've come to the conclusion that all bass and DAC combos in Sonic songs sound amazing.
I love how it's the same track from the previous Act but has a Higher BPM as a introspective Musician once says "Once into the second act Sonic is now used to his surroundings of the Massive Space Stronghold of Robotnik and is picking up speed to the final confrontation!"
As a kid, I made some lyrics to sing to this whenever I played this map. It just went: Wel-come, to the Death Egg Wel-come, to the Death Egg Zone~ Death Egg~
We did too, our lyrics were far more non sensical though. Although it was neat how it took the lyrical content of each of the previous acts. Pancakes, in the future. Pancakes, in the fu-u-ture Pan-cakes Mayanase and tootsy rolls.

I love how channel 2 basically argues with itself the entire song.
This is my favorite song for S&K. Love seeing it like this!
that analogy is too good lol
I now see this as a groove battle.

It's actually interesting how some songs use less channels than others.
It's due to sounds managing, Death Egg has a lot, and to not sacrifice the song too much you leave channels empty for the sounds.

The bass in this song genuinely sounds like a thrumming machine, as if the Death Egg itself is providing the beat!
