My mom kissed me on the lips once with a cold sore (she forgot about it and was comforting me from a nasty fall as a 2yr old), so I had them throughout most of my childhood. A lot of my pictures featured blisters and slight swelling. It was pretty embarrassing when it'd pop up during the school year and I'd get picked on for it. What makes it worse is that if my body was off balance (puberty and periods) or I was going through an emotional time, a cold sore would decide to make it's home on my face for awhile. I ALWAYS wash new clothes from the stores since I was young. I was in the child section at a Target and a mom wiped her baby’s green snot on the baby clothes! Why? Imagine another mom buying that outfit and not washing it?
I wash EVERYTHING before using/wearing it. I don't care if it's new from the store or thrifted. You never know who has touched or tried on those items. Better safe than sorry. Also very glad to not be the kind of person that sleeps around. People are entitled to do what they want in life, but please protect yourself. One night of careless fun can ruin your whole life.

My mom's best friend used to work the returns desk and one day this lady rolled up in a scooter just IRATE. She was holding up a visibly soiled pair of those cheap 50c pairs of underwear screeching that she'd only had them for 6 months and the elastic was already coming apart, and what was Walmart gonna do about it HUH?! Mom's friend had no idea what to do so she called a manager over while this lady made her scene. Manager at first tried to explain the 30-day return policy but this woman was NOT having it. After several more minutes of her screaming he wrapped a bag over his hand, took the underwear, then gave her a dollar out of his own pocket and told her to leave and never come back. Thankfully the underwear was thrown away, but it's absolutely wild what people will try to return AND what Walmart _lets_ them return.

People really should wash their clothes before they donate them. I have never donated anything without washing it. And never donate anything that's torn or stained. The thrift store isn't a way to throw your stuff away for free. Several years ago my sister sent her kids to my mom, with bedbugs. It has taken us years to get rid of them. I wouldn't wish them on my worst enemy. All of the furniture we had to throw out, we spray painted it so that no one would take it home from the dump. And all the clothes we threw out, went to the dump. We were to afraid to donate them, even with it washed and dried. Just wasn't worth the risk.
this is why I always wash and thoroughly check anything clothing wise that I am donating. And I never donate intimate, hats, and shoes. Unless never worn.
My dad gave me a kiss as a baby he had a cold sore I’ve had them ever since back in the day no one really talked about it because it was embarrassing. I hated going to school as a kid. With my own kids if I feel one coming on I don’t share anything with them.

I was a dishwasher there for 4 years and this happened 3 separate times. Cut my hand open, told wear a bandage, no gloves, no finger cot or anything else. It’s wild and gross
I once bought a beautiful green pure silk dress and once I got it home and opened up the bag, a bed bug shot out across the floor before I could catch it and boom, invasion ! it was awful.
You know what is funny? We can go to space, invent internet, be the most intelligent creatures out there but HOW CAN WE NOT FIND CURES FOR EVERY DISEASE!?
It's always good to use your head and make smart decisions, however, you soundboard walk around in fear all the time either. The stress your body is under when you're constantly worried wreaks havoc on your system. Yes, germs are everywhere, they always have been, but your body does a great job at fighting for you. Ironically worrying about germs everywhere will weaken your immune system and make you more susceptible to getting an infection. Practice good hygiene, eat real food, move, go outside, drink water, avoid risky and unsmart decisions, etc. Your body does an amazing job protecting. Do your best to keep it healthy and enjoy life. You only got one and it's not worth losing it to worrying!
It should seriously be assault to actively give a human a disease because it’s “common,” especially when adults are giving it to children. So selfish and disgusting.
Mom always taught me to was any second hand/thrifted clothing thoroughly even if they say the second hand stuff were “washed” before hand. And to NEVER use other people’s underwear’s. Don’t understand WHY and HOW people could thrift or take second hand underwear’s 🤢
Unfortunately, there are many single moms who can't afford anything else and have to buy all of their clothes and shoes, etc, from thrift stores. In my town, we used to have a place that took all used items and anyone in need could come in and take what they needed free of charge. It was an amazing place. I was there donating many of my daughter's old baby and kid's clothing and shoes. There was a single mom there who saw the clothes and underwear I was donating and burst into tears when seeing them, saying she needed things for her 18 month old daughter and couldn't ever find underwear or clothes she could afford. (I always washed everything before taking it to donate), but it was so heartbreaking to see how thankful she was to be there at the time and receive those items. You never know what someone is going through, which makes it even more important to clean things prior to donating things someone else may desperately need. Not doing so could easily cause someone else even more problems, and even death, just because of carelessness. I was a critical care RN, so was careful to always make sure my donations were clean before donating. I wish everyone would just think ahead and care about who may need their donated items but might not have the ability or resources to wash things prior to use. People just don't care anymore and it's sad.
Fun fact: You can get all of these same clothing transmitted diseases from just trying on BRAND NEW unwashed CLOTHES _TOO!_ We don't know who tried the tee-shirt or pants on before we got there. ❤

Like, why would you think it's ok to pick up confetti from the floor at a concert? Or walking barefoot in public places? Sharing makeup with friends/family and not washing new/used clothes when you buy them?! Come on, people! Use your heads!

Oh that's nasty. You should have told someone higher up about what management was making you do. That's all sorts of health violations right there and if someone is forcing employees to continue unsafe practices, then that management should be fired STAT
I worked at Pizza Hut as a teenager. One hot Arkansas summer (for those that don’t know…. Humid and 95+ plus) the AC went out. I was cutting pizzas next to the rough guys that made the pizza. Those dudes hardly showered and smoked the green all day. They had their backs to the blazing ovens while making the pizzas. I watch sweat drip/pour from their eyebrows and noses onto the pizza. Sweat was dripping from their elbows and everything. It was brutal! Those that ordered drive through had no idea how hot it was in the building and those that came in knew but didn’t care. They just cared that THEY were roasting in there. LOL
I also used to touch my phone that I sat on the bathroom sink and grab straw wrappers etc off the floor AND THEN grab people extra forks and whatnot without ever washing my hands. I’m grossed out by how gross I was. Lol
McDonald’s has been in backlash for a couple of weeks by now.
Yeah
Something isn’t right here👀
@@Mordeomaneater the thing that doesn't seem right here is that all the blood was exactly where the bite was ending. As if the blood was her own, from bleeding gums... Like when I eat something even slightly spicy all the skin in my mouth "wrinkles", gums go up and they will bleed. Maybe she just never noticed that or iritated her gums somehow before eating. It is way too suspicious that the blood was in these places of the food.. it should be scattered somewhere else too, not only there...

I try to remain considerate and careful when one pops up, even if the people around me
I've worked in restaurants and clubs before and ive never heard of any of them making people work while injured like that. It makes me glad I eat kosher and rarely eat takeout.
I have, however, gotten Necrotizing Fasciitis and was on my deathbed but I got the flesh-eating disease from an emergency c-section.
Oh no that's horrible :( I hope you're okay now. Did you sue the hospital where you had your c-section?
It’s often a personal choice, a lot of people get hurt while working in the kitchen, especially the people in charge of prepping and cleaning, the reason why they don’t leave is because of money, they might not want to get on a strict boss’ bad side or they simply can’t afford to leave.
Holy sh*t!!! Do they know what happened, as to why you ended up with NF? I'm so sorry that happened to you. That's one of the most heinous medical conditions to have to endure. Are you okay now?
@@RedRoseSeptember22 yes, I did. My OB, who performed my emergency c-section, had to retire afterwards due to him having a nervous breakdown. My son was also extremely sick due to my condition and spent 3.5 months in the NICU. He had bilateral IVH grade 4s, post-hemorrhagic hydrocephalus and PVL and parietal lobe seizures from it along with ongoing residual issues. 😓
Ironically, the OB who performed my wound debridement, was the dr who delivered my daughter and made sure not to mess up my scheduled c-section.
As if kosher is cleaner lol
Some charity shops dry clean their clothes. Shockingly toxic chemicals.
This is why I always inspect my food before I eat because of stuff like this does happen
Hahaha, like you can see microorganisms. You're hilarious.
I always wash clothes before I donate them. This should be normal.
That’s because you have class! I would never donate dirty clothes either 😢😢😢
The coldsore thing happened to me as a baby too. I always thought of it like a reverse fairytale where the kiss was what gave you the curse instead of curing it.
Think about all the times where you or someone else would go to Walmart or something try on some clothes and PUT BACK the ones you / they dont like, you or other people could spread disease through clothing that's not even in a thrift store!😷😷🤒

wait.. what?! even restaurants?! man might aswell bring my own silverware there 🤢
No more thrift shopping for me; I will also begin to wash “newly store-bought” clothing.
I ALWAYS wash new clothes from the stores since I was young. I was in the child section at a Target and a mom wiped her baby’s green snot on the baby clothes! Why? Imagine another mom buying that outfit and not washing it?
Shouldn't they be wearing gloves when working with food like a normal person?
Yes but have you seen the lines there they are rushed and get abused by managers and it’s just a idgaf attitude there.
@@Channel24377 Someone needs to rework that manegement.
A lot of used clothing is MOLDY. When you walk into a thrift store, you can just smell the mold. That is likely what is making people sick.
Me and my brother got cold sores from our mother. She just didn't care. Now I just carry patches and treatments in case it flares 😭
Eat raw garlic on your food for 3 days, it will cure you
I was taught to wash ALL clothes, new or used, before wearing them. No exceptions!
I wash all my new clothes before wearing them, and I always thought everyone knew to do that. Although suppose it’s not surprising that they don’t, considering there are also people who don’t know how to wash their hands.
Not the confetti? Maybe the virus was on the floor where she picked up the confetti!

don’t just wash clothing from thrift stores always wash anything you get from a store. thought this was basic knowledge 🤦♂️
It should be basic knowledge. You have to be mad weird if you wear clothes before washing it.
Interesting... I grew up as a gymnast and obviously we run around on the gym floor bare foot. I had plantar warts and basically everyone on our team did. Thought it was normal lol. But luckily I got them removed!
I did karate as a kid and had awful warts on one foot. Tried freezing, cutting, and even acid. Nothing worked until I adopted a dog. At night, I’d wake up to him licking that foot and try to shoo him away. Within a few weeks, the warts were gone and he lost interest in my foot. I am so glad they are gone, and so surprised at how it happened!

Thrifting? Wait until you see Walmart’s returns…. They put it right back on the rack.
@@daughterofsekhmet81 hmm that person had no backbone. They were completely justified to not accept. I would have just asked to leave and If she persisted to then call the cops to have her removed. In my world I don't have time for people being entitled brats thinking if they scream enough they get what they want. And you know what happens to that employee after even if the lady complains? Nothing, because it was justified and backed up by policy of the return policy. I especially wouldn't have given her a dollar. That's a dollar too much for that behavior

Have people not learned from the Covid-19 Pandemic?
Also, stop passing joints and sharing vape pens. Bring your own.
Giving a child cold sores should be classed as child abuse. Even CSA
That’s blood from her teeth it’s clearly on every bite mark
My dad gave me a kiss as a baby he had a cold sore I’ve had them ever since back in the day no one really talked about it because it was embarrassing. I hated going to school as a kid. With my own kids if I feel one coming on I don’t share anything with them.
Your dad is a disgusting, thoughtless POS. I’m so sorry that happened to you.
I always wash clothes I get from thrift stores or even normal stores before wearing them. I also wash my hands, wrists, and under my nails after thrifting, yard saling, or going out.

Not thrifting ever again. Never did it often but definitely washed Whatever I bought! I'm grossed Out!!
I wash every new clothing item I buy. Habit now.
Literally everything you do in a day has the same risk.
From my bad experience don’t, I stopped after what happened to me it’s not worth it
You're literally supposed to wash your clothes before you wear them. Do people just think every piece of clothing is clean?
The only things ive bought from thrift stores really are work pants/shorts for my husband and i was losing weight after starting a job after 12 years being home with my kids...I got jeans at thrift stores while i was droppings from 11/13 to 5/7. Wish i could do it again😂 I always washed stuff before wearing it, tho! And dry on HOT or SANITIZE!!!
as a server this is repulsive. In every restaurant I’ve worked at you can only continue working around food if the bleeding had stopped and even after that you need to disinfect, bandaid, finger cot, glove. Cant even imagine working with an open wound 🤢
Yeah i worked in a sandwitch shop and we had to rinse out any cuts thoroughly, put a plaster over it and then wear a glove over that before getting completely new equipment out. Injuries happen but its wild to me that some places just make the workers keep going whilst bleeding
I work in foodservice in the healthcare industry. we ALWAYS wear gloves. even when dishwashing, and putting away the dishes😊

I went to a children's consignment store and almost let my daughter try on a pair of pants that actually had a bandaid stuck to the inside of them! 😳😓
I went off on family about trying to kiss my son or sharing food with him when he was a baby. I did not play about that!
Regretting so badly now that I passed my vape around at a night club 😭😭😭
And this is why I wash everything I buy, Even if not from a thrift store, and anormal store, people are still trying it on, touching it.
It should seriously be assault to actively give a human a disease because it’s “common,” especially when adults are giving it to children. So selfish and disgusting.
McDonald’s back at it once again 🙄
Trust me it’s not just McDonald’s but it’s the most popular fast food chain so people just got a lot to say
Back when I worked at McDonald’s we had wear a bright blue Band-Aid and then add gloves over it for safety. Is that not a common thing?
Just irresponsible people and managers not checking in to make sure everything is going right

im scared to do ANYTHING now😭😭😭
Mom always taught me to was any second hand/thrifted clothing thoroughly even if they say the second hand stuff were “washed” before hand.
People just don't care anymore and it's sad.
don't yall wash your clothes when you just buy them...?
Fun fact: You can get all of these same clothing transmitted diseases from just trying on BRAND NEW unwashed CLOTHES _TOO!_ We don't know who tried the tee-shirt or pants on before we got there. ❤

Except for the McDonald's story and the kids/people that got sick because of careless individuals, a lot of it can be avoided by using a little common sense. Like, why would you think it's ok to pick up confetti from the floor at a concert? Or walking barefoot in public places? Sharing makeup with friends/family and not washing new/used clothes when you buy them?! Come on, people! Use your heads!
And that how we wean out the population 👀😅😉🤷🏻♀️ and why warning labels are on things. 😂
