It is called "Wall Brakes", those brakes only touch the wall when passing a section called "Dragon Coil" or "Hurricane Coil". Due to stiff climb and tight cornering, a machine can easily out of course. To prevent this, wall brakes must only slow down the mini4wd in those sections without losing speed at normal wall height.

I think it's stabilizer, not roller.
Mostly to add braking system for lane changer.
