    So glad that Demolition Man has grown in its cultural appeal over the years. I had it on good ol' VHS back in what they called "the day" and it was one of my favorite Stallone movies for the longest time. I just never thought very many people cared for it too much because it was a very tongue-in-cheek action movie that got lost in the shuffle back in the 90's.

It was I think a small nacho, a taco with extra beans and a soft shell taco wrapped on the outside, cinnamon twist and a soda. I was broke, working part time, going to school and living in a run down motel. It was the perfect meal at like $3.99 to fill me up as my primary meal all summer. Good times.

    Over the Top is my favorite underrated Hugh Jackman movie. You know, the one that is literally exactly Over the Top, only instead of arm wrestling it's robot boxing, and instead of "getting an advantage from a slightly different hand position" the main guy "gets an advantage from teaching his robot to actually fight".

In the style of stage comedy (it's adapted from a play), it develops gags and plot twists throughout the entire script, so it'd be easy to not get jokes that were set-up earlier. YAY! Demolition Man! I love that film! Great future setting, with the whole "PC taken to a ludicrous extreme" angle, plenty of genuine chuckles to be had here, with some social commentary that manages to not be gratingly ham-fisted, so that's a plus. Great action too, some really well done, exciting action set pieces in this movie. It's a very competent and highly entertaining affair all around! It was a far better Judge Dredd film than the actual Judge Dredd film was , funnily enough. Also, Wesley Snipes is just having so much fun with his villain role, it's great to watch him ham it up with such gusto.

      I remember that coming out. Mid-90's, as a teen was stoked to see the next Sly movie and wow was it not what I was expecting. I haven't seen it in a long while, and do remember it having surprising gravity. If I watched it now I assume it'd more clearly be an Oscar bid movie.

    8:16 and 8:26 from Demolition Man are both shots of downtown San Diego, the first being the transit hub for the trolley - about a mile from the second, which is the convention center, home of Comic-Con. Realizing these 'new' features of your hometown are actually decades old...OMGzilla.

    I got Over the Top for my birthday when I was about 13. My little sister and I watched it a dozen times. We had lots of inside jokes about it. For some reason we decided the little boy should have been called Carol, and we would laugh hysterically anytime we called him Carol. I just chuckled to myself while writing this.

    James is right --- Rocky II is a good movie but it suffers from being the same good movie as Rocky I. Creed II was kinda the same; it wasn't bad but it felt more like a rehash of one or two Rocky movies instead of feeling like a Creed movie (ie: something new).

    • @axelstone3131
      @axelstone3131 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jeff Ferguson creed was rocky for the black community, and therein lies the problem with the creed films.
