Tottenham Hotspur 4-0 Everton | The Final Word
Cheers guys thanks for the hard work, hasn't been easy
Come on Everton sort it out , I've got a soft spot for the Toffees that's goes back to the 1977 league cup final and replays, "Everton are magic" at hillsborough lives long in the memory, I've always seen our 2 clubs as the same so please sort out this mess and hopefully things will turn around, from a old villa fan
Same here. I'm a Man Utd fan since the Tommy Doc days, and I've always had a soft spot for Everton.
It's amazing where you guys are and where we are. We have literally swapped positions and this season feels a lot like the one where you guys went down.
The last time we played quality flowing football was the last 3 months of Silva's first season when we beat Man Utd 4 nil and also beat Chelsea, Arsenal and Burnley in consecutive home games. Prior to that, we have to go back TEN years to Roberto's first season. That is an awful state of affairs.
@@mattbyrne3621 Don't remind me. I really thought we were heading places that next season.
Arne Slot mentioned the other day that he wants a real emphasis on high risk and reward, all the good teams take these risks. Our problem is that Dyche takes ZERO risk, our wingers are basically defenders and our full backs never ever overlap. This is why we are so boring to watch and don’t get anywhere!
It can be justified to an extent if yous are limiting chances and scoring goals but such a risk adverse approach simply cant succeed when you ship goals. Even when your good defensively it will largely allow you to draw when you need wins so when yous are shipping goals as well its a recipe for going down
Everton ruining weekends for years !!!
I don't think if we'd sold Branthwaite we'd have bought well, and by fluke we did, then Dyche wouldn't play them!!! 😱🫣😵💫
He’s played everyone except obrien hasn’t he
McNeil in the 10 against Spurs still found a way to dribble back toward our own goal
I will say though, agree with Baz, he'd be a better 8 than winger. Can put a nice ball in behind for striker(s)/wingers or cross it from inside. Of course he'd also then be there for set pieces
Haha
Shocking Start to the season, hope he plays all the new signings against Doncaster and they prove Mr Dyche wrong
So Baz, where aren't Dyche & his team seeing what you are seeing regarding where to play Harrison & McNeill?
He's too stubborn in his ways
I'm just offering an opinion on trying something different mate, you know like other managers do when things clearly aren't working 👍
@@ToffeeTVEFC It makes perfect sense! I just wish Dyche wasn't too scared to try something different when "plan A" clearly isn't working
@@1878EFC HE DONT HAVE THE BALLS TO TRY ANYTHINK ELSE
AS KEEPS PLAYING THE SAME TIPPY TAPPY SIDEWAYS BACKSWARDS CRAP
HE NEEDS TO GROW A PAIR OR DO ONE HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN SACKED LAST SEASON I STAND BY THE TEAM NOT HIM HE NEEDS TO GO BEFORE HE GETS US RELAGATED
Because he's built the team around keeping things tight and scoring set pieces. He doesn't care how Harrison and McNeil play going forward. As long as they help the defense and can put in a dead ball that's good enough for him. The problem is without Branthwaite that's not going to be good enough this season.
Statistically DCL has made more runs in behind than any other forward in the PL after 2 games Ped your right it doesn’t matter who plays as a striker in our team they won’t get the service we have no pace you get a winger who can get past a full back and you will see a difference in our performances
I don’t get why we are trying to shoe horn McNeil in the 10 when we bought a 10 , yes Harrison on the left and Jesper right and McNeil on the bench , sick of watching him slow the game down and turn backward every play.
How has Dwight made it as a premier league player with no right foot and no pace. If Garner and Lindstrom step up on set pieces he could be in trouble!
Hi lads I've got a question. Has Ped ever listened to a word anyone else ever said in his whole life? Just wondering.
Just his own voice
What's with the tactical cam on Baz? Shakier than our defence at the moment!
Just popped on to say, the new thumbnails look class, havnt watched anything of late though, want to minimise the tragedy, just stick the 5-1 reaction back on.
Dyche is a championship manager and he's signed championship standard players
Didn’t he play 10 consecutive seasons in the prem with burley?
@@kingsley3208nah
Lazy comment.
@@kingsley3208 Are you sure?
Dixon needs to play until Patterson is fit enough, at least them two have pace (which we lack) and have the legs to get up and support then back to defend. When the fullback overlaps and can send a ball in first time (instead of cutting back, slowing down the play) that's a threat our forwards can feed off
Lads we have a ginger Mike walker
HE IS WORSE THEN WALKER WORSTED EVERTON MANGER IN THE CLUBS HISTORY
Maupays little rant has annoyed me hes going "imagine doing a job where you get abuse for just trying your best" errr imagine doing a job where you get 50k a week for sitting on your arse and expect fans who have travelled from Liverpool to London and paid silly money on a normal wage to watch, to be happy about you failing to score and conceding 4, sell that guy right now im saying his mouth is bigger than his brain.
That is true, but Do fans also have a responsibility to see when the things that they say on and offline have a negative impact on the players?
@@kingsley3208 Maupay is one nasty s**t, and he had the cheek to main,
@@kingsley3208 fair point and to be honest I dont know exactly what got said verbally abusing people is not great no matter the situation but I still think they need a bit more awareness how much money and effort fans put into miserable trips like this one and especially Maupay whos a wind up merchant himself, they get the platform to come out on BBC and things and critisize fans and be self righteous when all we have is shouting and yt comments to get our voices heard.
I come to watch ToffeeTV because its really a good sensible assessment of Everton.
Me and my grandson....the football nuts in the family, had Everton down for a comfortable mid-table finish. But, two games with 7 conceded and nil scored it is a bit of a worry. Once Branthwaite comes back it should tighten things at the back. But where are the goals coming from?
Everton have the comfort of knowing that the odds are that the teams that came up will get relegated again. It's becoming standard procedure.
The teams that you ought to be competing with are Villa, West Ham and Newcastle but you are nowhere even close to doing that.
Just be careful that you don't wind up with Moyes as manager
Ped, it can get worse. I won’t be surprised if we lose to Doncaster AND get another 0-3 battering at the weekend. Dyche is lost and doesn’t know what to do
Mcneil has quality, its rare he loses the ball, but very little pace
The forward line has to change, never understood the single striker formations when you're having trouble scoring either tbh.
With two up top you can get down the line and cross it, Beto and/or Dom and/or Chermitti (when he's back) will cause opponents trouble if the ball is in and around the box, rather than them having to run from the halfway line and take on the entire opposition team by themselves.
Thanks lads for the show, it is very cathartic. Dyche has reached the stage now where managers, despite what they’ve achieved in the past, just need to go. He is continuing with the same tactics, same poor results, same nonsense in the press conferences…he is out of ideas.
I don’t think he will go, because who is there running the club to make that call, but I think the team needs a new direction.
More atmosphere at the train station than in Goodison.
No surprise 😊
@@rewind2play MORE ATMOSPHERE IN A MORGE THEN GOODISON PARK AND I SUPPORT EVERTON AND I AM A SEASON TICKET HOLDER
It has to be ripped up. Been saying for 3 seasons we need 3 in centre midfield so a 433 with dixon and mykelenko venturing forward.
Don’t think Beto has the quality but he did more when he came on in the first 5 minutes than DCL did in his entire showing. He needs to be dropped if he doesn’t want to be here, what is the bloody difference, we aren’t scoring any way. 😅
What is point to but Beto when we are behind 3-0 let’s start Beto some games and he get confidence.
@@andreassalomaa5522 💯
Hard work…McNiel jogs around never runs hard.
In 2016/17 Everton tried to become the new Leicester...even going to the extreme length of hiring Leicester's assistant manager Steve Walsh. The idea was for Everton to absorb monster amounts of pressure at the edge of our box, then break quickly and win everything insight. A squad was assembled at great expense over the next few years but failed to deliver...the game had moved on. Moshiri searched for leadership bringing in manager after manager, but to no avail...the game had moved on. Eventually the club will realise that possession is everything, and a fast break is like a long ball...a useful tool to have in the grand scheme of things, but it's not something you hang your hat on...ffs!
McNeil has 1 gear reverse, Coleman finished, young too old, Harrison, doucoure, Keane holgate not good enough, DCL doesn't want to be here that's half the 1st team it's not looking good
When all is said and done Baz, Ped, we are a shite club now.
We havent been worth watching since Martinez first season, or at least to a neutral in Martinez's final season which was at least fuckin entertainment.
Gone are the days we had lads like Cahill, Arteta, Pienaar, Osman, Yakubu, Baines etc etc etc.
We've got absolutely fuck all there now
Is there a disconnect between thelwell and dyche ?
Dyche not playing players that Thelwell has signed (maybe)
Biggest thing for me is performances which have been non existent so far. I know it's early but we should be seeing performances from some of the players.
Don't normally agree with PED but his assessment of the players is spot on.
Finally Dyches tone is shite I want fighting spirit I want him to engage with fans not be distant to them. Siege mentality needed players and fans together. That should come from the manager in interviews on tv (not manager notes in programmmes). He doesn't get us
I know it’s dyche and Thelwell on transfers. But I wouldn’t want dyche anywhere near the money we had to spend if we sold Branthwaite
The midfield are atrocious they don't want the ball . When you have a midfield like we have the defence will just see players coming from all angles. And the forward play what forward play.
Spurs fan here thought dixon looked very promising
Getting one academy player into the first team is a bonus generally academy players are viewed as saleable assets . New signings need to start refresh us but everyone can see that . UTFT
You ask Ped are the players not good enough or is the manager not good enough imo neither the manager or players are good enough
I instantly thought "why not both"😂
Everton are a premier league institution, a historic club that makes the league exciting. Would hate to see them relegated. From a Spurs Fan.
get real we are terrible need a new direction cant keep playing has beens that no other prem team would entertain
Get Dacoure out of the team cuz he can't even pass the ball
How many times does he give the ball away
Or he crosses it to nobody
Really good discussion.
If Dino doesn’t change his tactics or get the boot,as Baz would say- “in my opinion “we’ll need a lot of luck to stay up.
We are the worst of the worst at this time.We offer nothing, teams know how ineffective our play is.
I feel sorry for the fans who show up constantly and watch that dire excuse for entertainment and passion.
Need a takeover before it’s too late-- Dycheasaurus ain’t gonna change.
wow 1 in 23 win..these stats are embarrassing....................... these stats can be repeated with the majority of the premier teams..................its grim
apparently were to hard on the team "they're doing their best" lmao.
Lads we are getting beat 3-4 nil every week. To stay up you can score a small amount of goals as long as the defence is sound. We are not going to suddenly score goals but we can get stronger defensively. Our central midfield needs to be the focus late in the window. We currently have a soon to be 35 year old who has never been able to hold the ball and a young kid who has played 2 prem games in his career. Couple that with an injured Branthwaite and you are in relegation trouble. We have to somehow get a prem ready reliable DM in this week.
ive been saying the same things on here now for 3 years plus. everyone can see our problems, apart from managers, coaches and owners.
Pedro I'm neutral
But always watch the toffees
Utv
I'd still like to see us try a 541 which can turn into a 343 in attack (wide players tucking in, allowing WBs forward). I think it would suit us much better currently without a proper no.6. Would make us more solid, with more lads on the pitch capable of scoring from set pieces (#BigJake 😂). Never mind extra men further back in the hopes of beating the press here and there rather than simply lumping it every time. Potentially best of both worlds.
Also, that camera really didn't want to focus on Baz did it? 😂. Better just sticking with the wider frame on both of you.
Lindstrøm on the right, Ndiaye on the left and McNeil in the 10, with Chermiti when fit or Beto
I AGREE EITH YOU UNTIL YOU SAID BETO
HE IS AWFUL HE HAD A 6 CHANCES V TREMERE LAST WEEK SCORED 2 HE IS AWFUL HIM AND MAUPAY NEED SELLING ASAP
Can’t wait for next summer when Dyche goes back to Jurassic Park
I still think they might well sell Branthwaite before the deadline
I've been a Spurs fan since 1960 and the last third of last season Everton did have control at home, and played some good football so when everyone is back fit I can't see any reason why you can't get back to that form
A real shame seeing Everton in such a poor state, along with my club Aston Villa we're founders of the football league & both our clubs have such a rich history. It still sits in the memory of us Villa fans having been exactly where you find yourselves right now & feeling helpless as others mismanage the club you love,i really hope you get some decent owners in & they get good people in too sort out this terrible mess going on nowadays. With your move next season to a new ground it's something positive & i hope it gives you a fresh start with a change of luck,a look at how a club can be turned around like at Villa with a good plan, some backing & people making smart decisions,it can happen. Hang in there Everton fans, good luck!!...... up the fuck'in Villa!!! 😁⚽✌️
On Branthwaite, i agree. Only sell for what hes worth. My concern is that the bid will come on deadline night. We will probably take it if that happens and be down a top player.
Ped going on about Stockholm syndrome with Harrison when he's doing the saying wth Dom, thinking his this amazing centre forward cos he had ONE good season under Carlo with a world class CAM playing him in every week. He's shite.
Baz you didn't get the platform there (not unexpected) about Harrison but his best stats come from the left. He can turn on his right and dribble which opens up many possibilities. McNeil turns away and fans are begging for a Cruyff turn so he can attack again but he doesn't he's unipedal and runs away again. Your dead right, if McNeil could use his right Harrison would get the left wing based on ability. end of.
Thank fook he got sent off, hopefully that’s the last we see of young and seamus … chemitti garner and Branthwait change the team, at cost of lewin dacoure keane.. try Harrison on the left… hope that lewin is off his pop this week , IMO.. dixon must stay in team now to gain experience, he will make mistakes but im not arsed, we have to look forward from today, no sentimental team selection move on
Exactly the right thing. I don’t want the people currently at the club spending a new windfall of money. I want whoever is coming in to get that. Still need to get players and ship some out right now, but I just want to make it through this season.
Good conversation, and arguing as it occasially should be, Baz and Ped! 😉😀
Everton really need much more energy and pace in their game!!!!
We should play Dixon as right-back even when Coleman and Young are available.
And when all centre-backs are fit we must try the pairing of Branthwaite and O'Brien.
In the next matches, also against Bournemouth, imo Everton should play Lindstrom on the right wing and McNeil on the left. In central midfield start with two of the following three: Gana, Iroegbunam, Armstrong. And when Garner is available, he is one possibility (of four players). When needed those two left on the bench can come on as subs, for example on the 1 hour mark.
And yes, put Ndiaye as the second striker or number 10, alongside DCL or a little bit behind him.
As you also indicated, we must start to press actively, forcefully and with decisiveness.
And we must start to be able and in the same time have the confidence to keep the ball and pass it quickly (enough) when we are under pressure, and when we are starting our attacks.
Of course we need those long and quick balls upfront when there are somebody of our own players to chase that long punt in open space. Every team does that as we know.
Hopefully Everton really can better their play, especially the footballing side of it! Dyche, Woan and Stone can do it, if they really want.
Would like to add that on the left wing either McNeil or Harrison.
And would be great if Dyche, Woan and Stone watched and listened! 🙂
Baz your so wrong about Harrison as he can’t go past players to run into the ball he can’t run with the ball, he is crap simple as that
Great discussion. Lots to unpack - lack of control, system outdated, players in wrong positions. Think the key is change the system completely from a pressing system using Gana, Doucoure to a system with two sitting midfielders who are more comfortable on the ball to gain control, wide players with pace like Lindstrom (why we also need Gnonto) and a 10 who can link the play between midfielders, wide players and striker. Stop pinging long balls forward and allow the likes of Beto and Chermiti to play on the shoulder running the channels and not back to goal. The two sitting midfielders protect the back 4, don’t press high and the two wide players start 10 yards higher. It’s a totally different system which utilises our players better but means Gana, Doucoure and McNeil don’t fit the system as it’s about being comfortable on the ball with wide pace not pressing from midfielders high which then exposes the middle of the park. It relies on Garner and Iroegbunam receiving the ball and distributing it to N’Diaye in 10 or the wide players. Dyche has to change from his current system or he will be out and Moyes will be back.
We only have 12 players who should have a not-for-sale sticker on them - Pickford, Branthwaite, Patterson, Dixon, Tarkowski, Mykolenko, O'Brien, Garner, Iroegbunam, Armstrong, Metcalfe and Ndiaye. That's it. We should use the season to give the youngsters as much game time as possible. The rest can go.
Harrison and mc neil are suppose to be wingers clueless
Both of them are limited Baz there not PL players because for 1 thing they have got no pace the PL is about pace
Isn't it long overdue that Everton appoint a forwards coach who knows what he is doing!!!!
V Doncaster
Pickford
Dixon
Mykolenko
O Brien
Tarkowski
Gueye
Lindstrom
Iroegbum
Beto
Ndiaye
Harrison
Definitely need more pace but for me a creative player who wants the ball is the biggest need.
The best form of defence is attack, but this will never happen as we only change our style of play when we go a couple of goals down, and then we are wide open as per the Spurs game.
Ancelotti struggled with Everton. Look what he’s doing lol. Bad investment to no investment dyche is making a Sunday roast with ingredients for a curry.
Ancelotti came 10th with Everton that’s more impressive than winning La Liga with that Real Madrid squad and an unlimited budget 😂
On a lighter note lads..I was at the Saint Pats European game last week in the Dublin. The 16 year old kid Mason Melia was brilliant. We need to get the deal done.
Even if ye did get him he can't go to England till he's 18 coz of brexit the journos here in ireland rekon he's going to Germany
I think I would go and get Moyes. Yes it's early but better to make the change now than throwing away a load more points.
Tim has put a few through balls in behind the opponent each game so far, but we have no one who can run onto them and get in on goal for a shot
are Everton confident of a victory against Bournemouth on Saturday?
No matter what players everton bring in they gave got to settle into the team more time.
Selling Branthwaite was never the answer. It is offloading the players who aren't good enough is the issue. (Keane, Maupay, Holgate and I would have let young go) This would have let us sign/loan 2-3 pacier forward thinking players to build around what we have. I hate when we sell our best players (Digne, Richy) because we have average players on over inflated wages draining the momentum from the club.
Somebody needs to be willing to buy those players though, clubs who need them can't afford the wages and the clubs who can afford them aren't interested.
@@phileast1654 That is part of the long term problem with Evertons recruitment strategy. Tempting average players in with inflated wages just to get them was always a terrible idea. We should have been shopping in a different market where we pay the expected wages. Over inflated wages for 15+ players has crippled the club and until the legacy is fixed through natural wastage/contract expiry we can't rebuild properly
@@soggymog8839 no arguments on that. It all comes down to the recruitment. Still happening now but to a lesser extent. Unfortunately it's a waiting game to clear out the squad and rebuild it.
No body wants them they want Branthwaite
FFS it's very clear nobody wants those players because they are crap therefore until the contracts have expired we are stuck with them. So we have to use our better players to generate funds as that is the only way, as we are so f*cked.
Regarding pace - Ndiaye and Lendstrom are both really quick.
Bang on, risk and reward. Make it seem so simple, but right now we dont have these players, do we? Its not all Dyches fault, but it should be better
If you look at other teams bottom half, only Branthwaite and Pickford would probably be better. Ipswich even have invested, forest have Hudson Odoi, elange, wood, Gibbs white and they were 17th. Bournemouth have replaced solanki and have fast wingers.
Well said Ped.
You spelt POSSESSION wrong
Ped is absolutely spot on about Dwight McNeil! hes is so so poor its actually embarrassing how one footed he is.
Does anyone from the club ever come on and answer some questions regarding positions and style that the coaches /manager are trying to introduce ?!!
Its ok being Defensive but,we need desperately to counter fast!..i watched the RS..on Match of Day and their breaks when in possession was absolutely 💯 mph!..they were all going forward so fast it was outa this world! Thats what we need, speed on counter, not the dozy, lethargic way we play!..🙈
The patience of Everton fans is unreal club's a complete mess
Saving themselves for Liverpool. Only game that counts. Don't matter if everton lose every game.
Bournemouth not an easy game they out player Newcastle on Sunday with ease.
Who actually enjoys going to the game? The actual 90 odd minutes of that day? I don't enjoy going to the game. Good meeting up with People that's it !
It looked like just before the game they’d just completed “Gaffers day”.. they looked miles off the pace…
lose sat and the ginger man must go
Ped's a good bloke mate, doesn't deserve that
Why is it a surprise? Team is generally populated with Championship players or players who were in relegated teams. The only way their levels improve is from the coaching of the Manager, whom is probably better suited to Championship level football.
With a fair wind, all the money in the world and all the luck, he'll realistically, get us to where? Top ten? Mid table?
So with players being sold, no investment, no jeopardy to his job, this Manager in fairness to him, is probably working at 100% of his capacity.
Sean Dyche knows, if, we ever get sold, to a half decent set of owners or an owner, he's likely to lose his job within months if not weeks of the completion of the take over.
Who resigned Harrison. Didn't buy a RB. Didn't buy a replacement for Dom who we know is going and if isn't shouldn't be playing anyway. The problem we have right now is there are so few players the team pretty much picks itself. The only thing that can change is the strategy from the manager and unfortunately they have built this team around doing one thing. Scoring from set pieces.
Sorry but a No10 can't be as one footed as McNeill
Checking in for my weekly therapy session 😥
Hopeful we find drunk clubs to sign
Holgate
Keane
Maupay
If we get players in id gamble and let go
Doucoure
DCL
Really is crap seeing the likes of Brighton and Ipswich spending spending and improving their teams and we are literally stagnating
It is obvious that this season will be very bad. If they don't get relegated from the league at least..
Dwight McNeil plays like a homing pigeon.
Have mcneil on for set pieces baz like we are good at set pieces. Forgot the rest stuff that happens during the game
I hate to say it but I think Branthwaite is still going to go and what we have signed is all we are getting with most of the money going to keep the lights on and stadium build going.
Whenever a TH-camr starts comparing their own management or a youth team to a premier league football team you just to turn over38:58
We need a new way of playing and pace in the team and a new manager
Sort the autofocus on the camera facing Baz boys making me feel dizzy 😅
Two games in and Dych has lost the fans.. not good for the shiny new stadium.
If the club wants to sell Branthwaite then it will. No matter what thelwell or Dyche think.
