Love the stride, the walking tenths, the tremolos, the breezy vibe -- so much fun! Thanks again for sharing your gift and knowledge with us.

It's my pleasure, Mark! This is a style that not many pianists play anymore. But yeah, lots of fun!

Love the post it's a Berlin Tune we are all working out for next week.!! The opening four bars caused me problems as I couldn't stop play Take the A Train!!!! Your comping ideas have given me plenty to go home with may thanks! Best wishes and great great playing.

I'm glad this is helping! Yeah, it's the same as Take The A Train at the beginning. They actually might sound good together :)

Where in God's name are you getting any of these notes from? I just picked up the real book and half of what you're playing is not even in here.

I know what the answer is but goddamn this book is not helping get into jazz or so much is even learning how to play these pieces as a beginner

@@TheConceptBoy I know what you mean, but in a way it's best to simply begin learning these great melodies along with the underlying harmonies. Just have fun learning about 10 tunes like this and then look for ways to jazz them up. Good luck :)

@@rondrotoskeyboardimprov9453 My goal is to get into writing more oldies 40s 50s swing / big band sort of jazz but this sounds nothing alike. Maybe this particular song so far kind of does. Am I perhaps not addressing it from a right direction?

@@TheConceptBoy Listen to Ella Fitzgerald's version of the song, with big band. You'll get some ideas from that.
