I had the 14 blink problem. With the help of this video was able to pinpoint which board was having issues. I replaced a couple transistors which had gone bad, and this great plasma tv is working like new. many thanks!
I have a TC-P50S30. I believe from your video that I need to replace my SU board. But just to confirm, this is what I did. Tested P2: short with the wire plugged in and open without the wire. Moved on and tested SC2: short in the test. Tested TPSC1 and it was open. Disconnected the SU board and it was still open. Connected the SU board and disconnected the SD board and the test was open. Tested P11 and it was open. Thank you for the excellent video.

This video is still useful. Viewers like me appreciate the beautiful image displayed on a great plasma. Had I not found this tutorial, I would have been $1700 into a decent lcd and still not be very satisfied with the image. Thanks again for the help. My old circuit board is hanging on the wall above the plasma as a reminder, conversation piece and a bit of artwork. 👏
I have a Panasonic TC-P50X5. We were watching a DVD & suddenly it just powered off. The red power led was flashing 12 times pause a few seconds then flash 12 again. So I ran to you since your videos have helped before. Thanks!
I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST30 that went blank on me about two months ago. After a Panasonic authorized repair shop looked at the TV and told me it could not be fixed, I began to search online for more information. I stumbled upon your video and in less than an hour was able to ascertain that the problem was a short in the SC Board. I could not find one online and Panasonic would not sell me one directly. They forced me to take the TV into a repair shop. I took it in and sure enough the diagnosis was a faulty SC Board. The cause of the short was loose screws holding the board to the TV. Luckily, the repair shop was able to repair the board and I escaped with a modest repair bill. However, if I hadn't come across your video, I probably would have put the TV at the curb. It so unfortunate that Panasonic won't admit there is a problem and help people fix it. By the way, the annoying hum is gone also. Could it also be related to the loose screws?
Thanks! This video helped identify a bad SC board. The power connector was shorted to ground on the SC, but TPSC1 was NOT. Replaced the board and now the set is working again! Very nice presentation, accurate, and exactly what I needed. Now I'm going to do some further testing and find out exactly which part died on the shorted out SC PCB (probably a transistor, diode, or MOSFET.)
Thanks for this TS aid. The 14 blink on my Panny 42ST30 ended up being an SN board. My Apr 2011 model did not have SC, SU or SD boards. My SN board seems to combine all these. Either way a short at P2 led me down the path. Before your aid I was already prepped to suspect the P or A boards, but your guidance pointed me otherwise. Thanks!
I'm getting a 14-blink sequence on my Panasonic TC-P46ST30. I'm a little confused by your instruction at the 5:00 mark of the video, here are my symptoms. Upon plug-in, the front LED is on solid. If power switch is pressed momentarily upon first relay click, LED stays on solid. If power switch is pressed and held for 3 sec. upon relay click, the LED stays on then goes off after 3 sec. When switch is released the 14-blink sequence starts. Does this indicate a problem with the A board?
I have a TC-P42X3 Panasonic Plasma. Started losing the picture (pixelated/loss of color) & eventually went out completely. Power light originally blinked, but do not recall if it was 10 or 14 blinks. After unplugging the cord & TV cools off, it usually comes back on when we plug in & turn on with or without the remote. The picture is usually darker/dull. I adjusted the contrast/brightness which worked ok. Eventually, I start to lose the picture again & it goes out completely within 3-6 hours. Thanks, Rich

I’m testing the sc board on my Panasonic plasma tv PC-P50ST30 while watching your video. Not sure which board is bad (no picture and 14 blinks). There doesn’t seem to be continuity on part 5w 2.2K 173. I disconnected the su and sd boards separately and still no continuity on that part. Not sure how to interpret that. Would love to get this tv working again but don’t want to waste money replacing boards that are still good. Thanks for your help.
Thank you for the helpful video. Does this repair also work for a TC-P50S1 from July 2009. This TV has been great, with no issues until today. The TV went black with the red light slowly blinking. I unplugged it, and while unplugged held down the power button for 60 seconds or so. I then tried to power it on. It sounded normal, for a couple seconds, then it sounded as if it were sparking or shorting out, and went back to the steady blinking red light. Any suggestions on troubleshooting?
Thanks for the video. I have 46ST30 that has 14 blinks. Following this video I found that my SC board is shorted. The board is out of stock. A lot of places seem to selling a repair kit "that MAY" fix the problem. It would be awesome if you could make a video , or have an instruction manual , on how to figure out exactly which component on the SC board is the problem.
photovideolearner You can try the kit to fix your TV. On the product page, we list the symptoms that the repair kit will fix. Here is a link to that page: www.shopjimmy.com/panasonic-tnpa5351ah-sc-board-component-repair-kit.htm Thanks! www.shopjimmy.com
Thank you for sharing this information...very well done ...While I am comfortable with working on electronics, I'd just like to share my symptoms to see if there might be a a definitive diagnosis ( what board failed) without having to trouble shoot per your instructions. I have a TCP50S30. My screen went dark after a loud snap that seemed to radiate from the right side of the screen ( looking at the front). Subsequent symptoms were: I was not able to power TV OFF with any remote. Had to unplug the power to turn the Red LED off. After holding the TV power button ( on the right side, back), I was able to get the 14 flash code. Any ideas what board might have failed from this information ?..Thank you again for taking time to share this valuable information . Rich
Thanks for the reply. Which is the sc board? My model is the TCp42c2 I thought it only had a SS and SN board along with the main and power boards. Thanks. Sorry for the additional question I did unplug the board on the top right when facing it from the rear. It has SS written on it. tnpa5072. When I turn the TV on it now blinked 7 times repeatedly. What other boards should I unplug?
Hello and thank you so much for helping.... I have a TC-P65VT50 and It will not turn on and the power light is BLINKING 3 times...please help and thank you so much.. we did all the unplugging and using different outlet stuff...
I have the 14 blink problem and need a new SC board. (I think that’s the name). There are used ones on eBay....I am hesitant but need to save money when I can. (That’s why I’m not running out and buying a new TV). Any thoughts about purchasing a used one off eBay?
I just inherited a Panasonic TC-P42X3! The TV tuner works when connected to a cable box through a coaxial cable, but not through HDMI 1 or 2. Any suggestions or recommendations? Thanks in advance for your comments or advice! The former owner thinks it has been hit by power surge .
Thank you for making the video. I have the 14-blink code for a panasonic tc-46s30 plasma TV. I've traced the problem down to the SC board (TNPA5351 - sticker on bottom reads 5351AG). It looks like the boards are few and far between... what are my options?
Panasonic TC-P50C2. Manufacture date OCT 2010. Heard a click/pop and picture died and power LED started flashing 10 times pause 10 times...... Remove from power, reconnect power and press power button tv appears to be starting up but then a relay clicks in the tv and we are back to the symptom detailed above. Please advise on part you recommend for this repair. Thank you for the great Videos.
I have a TC-P65ST60 Panasonic plasma dated 2013. Last week it made a pop sound and it shut off. I have tried soft and hard resets with no success. The red light continues to blink (7 times, pause then 7 times again) and I can hear a click when plugging in or after holding and releasing the TV button. I have not yet done any disassembly and hope for some guidance prior to doing anything further. Any advice appreciated!
Hi, i have a question.. Panasonic viera 42" plasma, model TH-42PV60A IT STARTS SHOWING RED PIXELS ALL OVER THE SCREEN, SOMETIME SHOWS LIKE LAVA FLOATING. Also the green led light blinks several time before the screen starts. ( i think 20 or 21 blinks all time) can you help me to fix this issue? cheers
hari paniker Try all repairs and troubleshooting at your own risk. This sounds like a TV panel (TV Screen) problem. If your TV panel is bad, it may be more cost-effective to replace the TV as panels are typically hard to find in stock, difficult to replace, and expensive. Thanks and please let us know if you have any further questions! www.shopjimmy.com
I have a quick question I hope you can help me with. I have a cheap meter and I believe when it reads "1 . " it is the same as when yours reads "O.L". That signifies a short circuit correct? So like when I test my P2 power lead I get a 00.0 and same with the ground with the wires plugged in or not it they read the same. Would that mean my P2 connection is still good? Thank you
There was a short on the power connector on the SC board but no short on TPSC1 It could just be me but i dont know if the video specified what to do under such scenario.
i have followed your video to diag a failure in my panasonic plasma tv , very easy to follow thank you very much. I have a code 14 tv just shut off and won't restart . Found short at sc 2 with connector disconnected checked at tpsc1 no short . Leads me to believe the sc board is the culprit. Problem is will there be any available or are they backordered for ever .

Hello, I have a vt60 plasma Panasonic. Yesterday I left the tv in standby without switching off, and this morning the red light was blinking 13 times. I switched off the power, and now it doesn’t turn on (normal red light). Can you help me? Thanks!
Hi, Jimmy I have a problem with my panasonic plasma TV TH-P42×30K model while switch on and it automatic on and off . Sometime switch on be normal and sometime it go on again . Is it the mother board problem? Thanks!
My tv is a Panasonic Viera Plasma TC- P42S30. Please advise if the power should be ON when testing for the shorts on the Power Supply Board. The tv suddenly went blank (i.e. black screen) while watching. The red LED power light still shows, but there is a black screen and the remote does not turn off the red LED power light. Please advise if I should test as per above video and when power should be on and when power should be off.
Got a tcp42st30 (March 2011). I use it in Europe with a 120-220v transformer. Screen went black yesterday. Probably after 4 years of voltage transformer use it fried. Get the 14 blink code. Should I replace the A board? I’m not a repairman. But would like to keep using the tv.
Hi. I have a TC-P50ST30 giving a 14 blink code. I received a ground signal at both posts of the SC 2 connector (after disconnecting it from the power supply board). I still received the ground signals after disconnecting the ribbon connector and the connections to the SD and SU boards. I checked the P2 connector and didnot receive a ground signal on the VSUS post after disconnecting the wire. Therefore, I think the short is isolated to the TNPA5351 board. Is there anything else I should check? Am I missing anything? Thank you for your video- It is VERY helpful!
carl jenness panasonic tc-50s30 i have 14 blinking light if i take the power board out can you still check with meter and do you just sell the are do you repair them .
Hi, I have a panasonic TC-P50S30. Following the diagnostic video and the first test of the the P2 connection shows a short. I disconnect P2 and the short is gone. I follow on and test the SC board. The next step is to test at TPSC1 which shows no short. I disconnect all 3 ribbon cables (SU / SD boards) and confirm that the SC board is the problem. Is there a way to fix this board without purchase? I've seen videos replacing the diodes & transistors and wonder if this is worthwhile.
I have a Panasonic plasma TV. mod tc-p50g25. ser # ldo03010876. will the disconnect and adding the x and y boards to listen for clicks diagonis work or do I need to go right to the ohm meter to check for continuity? I did not see my model number in your list. ken...
I was given a Panasonic 42" Plasma with 4 blinking red code. TV Model is TC P42G25 and I have looked for the main issues like bulging Caps most are convex but the 2 larger ones are slightly raised, so I'm wondering if that's still a sign of over heating and should they be replaced? If you have a video for this TV that would also be a big help. Thanks for any assistance you may have to offer..
My model number is TCP42S30 and after following your video I found both pins at SC2 on the SC board to be shorted to grd. The SC board on this model does not have any additional boards piggy backed to it as shown in your video. Am I correct in assuming that the SC board is failing?
In this video you check for short at TPSC1 with the power and ribbon disconnected and only talk about what to do when the short is observed "disconnect connection to SU board and repeat..." On my SC board with power and ribbon disconnected I get open (no short) at TPSC1. Does this confirm that my SC board is bad? Many thanks.
I have a TC-P42ST30. The power supply board does not appear to have a short. The SC Board does appear to have a short to ground, but unlike the set in the video the SC, SU and SD Boards appear to be all in one. I can't find a TPSC1 but do have a TPSN1. When I check at TPSN1 it is not shorted to ground. I assume this means that the all in one SC, SU and SD Board is bad. Is this correct? Thanks, Michael.
I'm gonna take you up on your offer... I have a 60" Panasonic Plasma PCP60530 Dec 2011. One day it just wouldn't turn on.. No pic, no sound, no clicks, no led (solid or blinking).... I've checked electrical source, cord, and the box? the cord plugs into on tv.. I've got power going to the brown board (power supply board?) in the middle. I've check for continuity across the fuses I've seen, and visually inspected boards and capacitors. I just found this video now so I haven't yet done these tests.. What would you suggest from here? Thanks for offering help to Plasma owners.
Hi! I have a 2011 Panasonic P50x3 plasma TV that is only displaying the left side of the TV and the right side is multi-coloured vertical lines. Of course my warranty ran out 6 months ago so that isn't an option. I currently have it dismantled in my living room. It started doing this from time to time a few months ago and reseating the HDMI cord fixed the issue temporarily. I thought it might be the cord but I've tried several and get the same screen issues. I'd like to know if it's fixable or should I just give up because sometimes replacing the item is cheaper than fixing it. I'd truly appreciate some advice. Thanks
I have a Panasonic TC-P42S30. On the power supply board connector p2 I measure a short on the Vsus pin. On my tv this connector goes to a board labeled SN instead of the SC, SD, SU trio shown in the video. With power supply board disconnected I still measure a short on Vsus pin on the SN board. What are the next troubleshooting steps or do I need to replace the SN board? If so, would you please link part number? Thank you!

ShopJimmy.com Thank you. Last week I replaced the SS (part # TNPA5350AD) board and repaired the SN board (part # TNPA5349) using the components in the repair kit (SN board is out of stock). The TV powers on great now - but the image looks washed out or over-saturated. It is certainly possible that there is a bad solder connection in my rework - but I wanted to get feedback on the coloring issue. Would this issue be caused by the SN board or should I look somewhere else?
Hi, I have a Panasonic TV MF0230307, made in Nov 2010. It has a 10 blink code, which I am wondering if I should change the power supply board? I have already changed the A - board and there still is no progress so if there is any advice you can offer, that would appreciated!!
Hi I have a Panasonic viera tc p54vt25 with a steamy foggy screen that looks horrible in daylight. Cleaned with a lens cleaner a micro fiber cloth didn’t fix the problem, looks like issue is behind on the inside of the screen. Is getting to the screen towards the guts of the tv a big job ?
Hi, having the black screen issue with my Panasonic tc-p50x1 but my light doesn’t blink, it’s solid. After I turn it on it stays on for maybe a minute before shutting itself off and then turning itself back on again; after about 3 cycles of that it just stays off. Would LOVE some advice.. I have the back off already and I have a service manual for it but finding answers for issues NOT involving a diagnostic flash had been almost impossible. Thanks!!
Hello I have a question. I have a 55" panasonic plasma 3d tv model p55st30 with a 14 blink code. I had to do a hard reset to get the solid red light to start blinking the code. I would like to attempt to repair it myself. I'm new to this, and am curious how you ground yourself to repair the tv.
I have Panasonic TC-P55ST30 that the red power light stays steady, no picture, no blinking even after sitting 24 hours with no power and holding the power button in while plugging AC back in. I did find the power board and the SC board have shorts following your excellent tutorial, would this testing be valid even though I saw no blinking codes?
Nice one ..I have a Panasonic TH42PA40E that the picture is not bright and I have increased the brigtness and the contrast but still the same what may be the problem pls.
I have the exact same tv as this video, ive done exactly what your doing. I have a short to ground going to y sustain board but when i go from sc2 to tpsc1 theres no short to ground. This video does not cover that. Any ideas what im suppose to do know? Ive actually bought your repair kit with all the mosfits diodes etc. Etc. But without it shorting to the tpsc1 im not sure if i should go ahead and use it. Plz help
I have a tc-p42st30 tv with 14 blinks. Watched the video and found no shorts. However when I put my test meter on Gnd I also get a connection. Your video says if your ground shows a short don't worry about it, but is it ok if your ground shows good? Does this mean replace a board? Thanks
I've got a TC-P50ST30 with the 14 blink code. The SC board shows a short at the SC2 connector, but not at TPSC1. This persists after i pulled the board out of the TV entirely. If I had my way, I'd replace the board entirely, but you seem to be out of stock of the part. I'm comfortable swapping surface mount components, so that's no problem, but I note that in the instructions for your board repair kit, it does not mention the 14 blink code as being something that kit can fix. Can you tell me if it will fix the 14 blink code?
I have a TC-P50S30 that went blank one day with a 14 blink code. I used the above procedure to diagnose (thank you very much for the video) and I had a short to ground on the Vsus lead of the P11 connector that remained shorted to ground with the connector removed. I concluded per the video that the power supply board was the culprit. When I looked up the PS part number directly (N0AE6KK00005) with you guys it was out of stock. But when I just browsed power supplies by make/model I found the apparently equivalent N0AB5JK00001. Could you please confirm that my finding on the P11 connector most likely confirms the power supply board and that the two boards mentioned above are, in-fact, equivalent? If so I'll go ahead and order. Thanks so much for the video and in advance for the advice/part.
I had a 14 blink code (likely due to a power surge) and replaced the SC and Main A board (thank you for the troubleshooting). TV powers on and I can switch input, but the resolution is bad all over the screen and the floating white box that used to say input needed is completely blank. What else was fried, is it software or another board?
when i try to upload new firmware, TV reads it and then dies. Error code is 14 blinks again. When i unplug AC, error code is gone. Thinking this is the main power board still, even though it isn't shorted. Thoughts?
have Panasonic TH-P50V20A. Won't switch on- just 4 red flashes. from some research it said is Power SOS P Board. How do I know which board and if replacement, substitute or repair is possible. Tried looking through other videos couldn't find any thing specific to this problem. Any suggestions?😯
All of my boards are testing as shorted on my TC-P42ST30. Maybe there are repair kits for the P (TXN/P1PKUUS) and SN (TXNSN1PKUU) boards. I have a spare SS board and am ordering a replacement A board because only one HDMI port is good.
I purchased your repair kit for the TNPA5351 SC board on my Panasonic TC-P50S30 plasma. The SC board showed a short across the pins of the SC2 connector before replacing the components and open after replacement. I reinstalled the SC board in the TV and it ran for about 5 minutes. Then I heard a click and the TV was dead. The SC2 pins are shorted again. Any suggestions?
i have a tc-p55st30 and im getting the buzzing noise and it sounds like its coming from the upper left corner in the back of the tv. obviously if im looking at it from the rear its the top right. i read somewhere on the avs forums its a known issue. but i cant seem to find the posts in that section of the forum....any idea which board it is? thank you
I keep watching ur videos and theyre very helpful but, what does the multimeter do when its a short to ground? Does it beep or not beep? If it beeps is that a bad or good board? Thank you
I have a panasonic TC-P50S30 with a 7 blink code. I tested as you explained on this tutorial step-by-step and at first I thought I had a short on the SC board because 1 of the 2 pins coming from the P-board was grounded. But after following the connection back to the P2 connection, I realized that this pin belonged to the ground pin on the P board. so I'm assuming this has to be ground on the SC board, right? I also tested the TPSC1 pin and it doesn't show a short. Disconnected SD and SU boards independently and tested as described and still no short. Any ideas? My TV has the 7 blinks error. Could you please point me in the right direction. Thank you

Hi, I have a Panasonic Viera, model P42XT50D. Sometimes it switches on and after I put it off it doesn't switch in immediately. I've observed over the months a strange behavior. I just leave it in the off condition for about two or three days and then again I turn it in suddenly it comes on and works fine and if I turn it off again its the same story. However if its plugged into the UPS and I only turn the set top box off then its ok. But then if I mistakenly switch it off completely then I'll have to wait for three days as I mentioned earlier. I took it to a service center and he charged us a bomb but the problem persists. Could you please provide us with a solution? Thank you so much and good luck. 😊👍
I have a TC-P50ST30 I followed the video. I have a short at SC2 but no short at TPSC1 with the SC2 and ribbon cable disconnected. I have the 14 blink code.

Hi Jimmy, I have a Panasonic TC-P50ST30, and had to replace the MAINBOARD TNPH0912 1A. At first I bought a brand-new never used sealed board, and installed it and it just blinks. Then I was told that this brand new board needs to be programmed, that it is blank because it is a brand-new sealed never used board and needs firmware for the tv in order for it to work? I ended up finding a another "USED" board and its working so far, but now also stuck with this brand-new board... Is there a procedure to update this board or is it a dud? Thanks
Hi, Please can you advise, I have a Panasonic TX-48CX350B TV and I have no picture or sound although sometimes I can see the backlights showing behind. When I switch the mains on at the plug the front standby light flashes then goes off and the backlight is on. No display on the TV when I press the remote on/off button puts the tv in standby and if I press the remote once again and attempt to call up the menu screen no picture or sound. After a while the standby light comes on constant red light and the backlights are off. Your assistance is very much appreciated. Regards Brian
Hi, Panasonic Viera TH-46PZ81B It fell from wall whilst fully extended for prolonged period. Semi cushioned landing! Looking at back of TV Left vertical bracket came off with screw/washer. TV switches on but buzzing noise from left (looking at it from back). No picture on screen. Screen is not cracked. Power light will stay on but buzzing noise is constant until switched off. Let me know your thoughts please.
Hello I have a Panasonic TC p50s30 I went through your diagnostic and didn’t find a short I turned it back on and it had no blink code and about an hour later it turned off again And now has the 14 blink Code what are your thoughts
Hey I have TC-P60GT30 we had a lightning strike that took ALL out all out TV's whether in use of not???? This one that was being used had a white flash now it won't come on and Im getting the 14 red flashes...Is the a way to check to see if I blew the screen? I can't find anything else wrong? Shannon
Hi guys! Got the 14 Blink Code on a Panasonic TC-P50S30. I want to validate witch board I need to change after my test. TPS1 is ground SC2 is ground P11 Vsvs is ground My call is the power supply issue can you confirm that? Thanks so much for this nice video.
Hi ! I have a Panasonic tx-p55vt60e 55" from 2013 and seens few days the screen shut down at random time with a 10 blink code red light. I did dismount the plasma screen to clean it from dust in the case of overheating problem. It seems the power board is faulty, but any good advice would be much appreciated
Hallo, have 14 blinks after overvoltage damage through lightning and bad weather with my Panasonic Plasma TX-P50U10E. It is not shown in the video. Therefore my question: Can i use the instruction also for this model? Is there also a written instruction with pictures available, because sometimes its difficult to understand. I am from Germany. Want to sort out what is really broken and which board(s) are to be replaced. Comment from Tv technican was overvoltage damage in power supply and X/Y level! What is X/Y level? or phase Thanks a lot.
Thanks for the video! I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST30 manufactured July 2011 that i purchased also in July 2011 and have the 14 red blink code. My kids said they heard a pop and the TV turned off and that was the last of it. I only get the blink code. I tried as you stated, plug it in and after the first click push the power button and the light is solid red. My question is what power supply board would I need? If its reasonable I will purchase one and try replacing it and hope that is it. I see some on eBay but not sure if they're compatible. Prices are not bad. Thanks in advance for your help!
Sergio Sanchez Try this at your own risk. Unplug the TV, then disconnect the SC board and plug in the TV to see if the TV powers up. Reply with the results of this test. Thanks! www.shopjimmy.com
ShopJimmy.com I will try this...should I unplug both the ribbon and clamp style connector or just one of them? By the way, I tested the p board with all connections and have a short as your video stated. I then unplugged the p 2 connector and short went away. It was reading 2 on the meter but was climbing at a slow pace.
ShopJimmy.com Me again, OK I tried unplugging both the ribbon and the connector and got same result. Also tried pushing power after I hear first click and get a solid red. Also, I did swap out the p board and have same 14 blink code as before. Same after pushing power button after first click. Thanks again for the help!
I have a TC-P46ST30 Panasonic Plasma, experiencing 14 blink failure code. I get a short on the SC2 VSUS pin regardless of what i have connected. I assume that my SC board is the problem, but your video does not clearly state that is the case. Please confirm and let me know if I can get this replacement part from your shop. In the event I am incorrect could I return the part for something else?
Good Afternoon, I have a Panasonic Plasma TH-50PZ85U. When you plug it up the Digital audio out get its red light. When you power on the tv it clicks like it turning on, the fans spin for a sec, and then clicks off. it seems to blink 3 time. Any idea on this would be great. Thank You
Panasonic TX-P46G20B 13 blinking red lights - have no idea which board lm need to change as cant see any label on the board ( dg board ?? A board ?? )..any pointers would be gratefully recieved
Hello, I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST30 made 2011 s/n MJ11590735 and I did the (Understanding14 blink test ) and replaced the SS board and now have 7 blinks and retested using the 14 blink test procedure and it is indicating that the SC,SD and the SU boards are shorted and need to be replaced dose this sound correct? Thanks for your help.
I have a question I have a 2012 50" plasma Panasonic HDTV and the screen is broken and I wonder if other parts inside are as well wanted to know how much for a repair.?
Model No. TC-P46ST30. The TV stopped all of a sudden. I watched your video and did not find any shorts. I plug the power in and hear the click, then press the power button and only get a solid red light. I have replace the power board and the SC board and still have the same results...solid red light. Am I missing something? Thanks
We have a panasonic TC-P55st30 that we think was hit by lightning, We here a click when we turn it on, but there are no blinks or solid lights. My husband took it apart and performed the tests in this video. All the tests show good. There were no shorts. Any and all help would be appreciated. Also we found that one of the two fuses right next to the incoming power supply has no volts, but the other fuse has 120V. My husband said that the fuse may not supposed to have voltage because he said it might be on the ground side. All the other fuses my husband seemed good,

Hi, I have a Panasonic P55ST30 with 14 blinks. P2 was shorted, back to normal when disconnected (so power supply board is OK). Power connector at SC board is shorted but TPSC1 is not shorted. No difference when I disconnect SU and SD boards. SU and SD boards were previously repaired. Does this signal bad SC board?
Having a 14 blink cold after hearing a pop and the screen is just black. Model: Panasonic TC-P55ST30 Tested power supply at P2 like in video and ground pin shows no ohms and other pin has ohms so power supply is good. At second step in video testing the SC2 connection on the SC board I have a short to ground both terminals show zero ohms.I went on to disconnect the SD board and test it and nothing changed so I did the SU board and nothing changed does that mean I need a new SC board?
TC-P50S30: lost power to house abruptly with pop noise. 2 days later TV fails. 14 blink code. I followed video: p2=ok, sc2=ng, tpsc1=ok, p11=ok, ss11=ok. What is your recommendation? Also, your board inventory appears depleted on your web site. Thank you for your time.... trying to avoid a big expense, if I can
Hello- I have a Panasonic to-p42s30 with the 14 blinker... The power board has o ohms when the sn board is plugged in but when I unplug the sn board the power board then has ohms. The same plug I test that is unplugged from the power board has 0 ohms... Can I assume I have a bad sn board and either replace it or have you repair it? Thanks for any help!
Hello, i followed your diagnostic video and found no shorts. I continued to get the 14 flashes. I located a replacement tested main board and installed it. I still get the exact same 14 blinks. Is it likely that I received a bad board or should i just give up on this tv? Tcp50s30 Thanks for your advice
Hi There, I have a Panasonic plasma TV Model TH-P50X20Z manufactured April 2010 error code 8 Blink. do I need to replace the SS board or just to replace some parts only? Thanks , Rene
First of all, thanks for the guide. Really helpful. Here's my situation: solid red light (no blinking). My P board checks out fine while connected to the SC board *as long* as I place the black lead from the multimeter on the screws on the SD/SU board. If I ground it on the TV metal, it fails unless I disconnect it from the SC board. The SC1 connector seems shorted if I touch the TV structure (plugged or unplugged to the P board) but seems fine if I touch the screw on the SD/SU board. The TPSC1 works always, with everything plugged in or unplugged. I'm puzzled! Any help would be appreciated! Thank you SO much!

Tc-p55st30 shows short on su and sd boards i think but when disconnecting power from sc and testing for ground it also shows a short... so do i need sc sd and su boards?
I have a Panasonic TC-P46S30 plasma tv with a 14 blink code. I have viewed your video and it appears the power supply is bad. I get 0 ohms on pin 1 with it plugged in and after unplugging get approximately 1.6k ohms. When you say close to 0 is that close? And any ideas on best place to get power supply? You seem to be out of stock. Thanks,
Great video, thanks for posting it! I have a Panasonic TC-P50S30 with the 14 blink condition that shows a fault at the SC board connection to the power supply, but no fault at TPSC1. This is a scenario you do not address. Does this indicate a bad SC board?
Gary, I have the same situation with my TV after looking at the video. What did you do? Did you just replace the SC board taking a chance that the SU and SD boards were ok because the TPSC1 did not show a fault?

I have a Panasonic
TC-P50X5.
The power connector
was shorted to ground on the SC, but TPSC1 was NOT. Replaced the board
and now the set is working again! Very nice presentation, accurate,
and exactly what I needed. Now I'm going to do some further testing and
find out exactly which part died on the shorted out SC PCB (probably a
transistor, diode, or MOSFET.)
hey - facing potentially the same issue. did you ever find any new information?

Rich
@ShopJimmy - If the first test fails, that means the main power board is bad correct? (Most Likely) Do you still have parts for this?
Thanks for the reply. Which is the sc board? My model is the TCp42c2
I thought it only had a SS and SN board along with the main and power boards.
Thanks. Sorry for the additional question
I did unplug the board on the top right when facing it from the rear. It has SS written on it. tnpa5072. When I turn the TV on it now blinked 7 times repeatedly.
What other boards should I unplug?

Thank you for making the video. I have the 14-blink code for a panasonic tc-46s30 plasma TV. I've traced the problem down to the SC board (TNPA5351 - sticker on bottom reads 5351AG). It looks like the boards are few and far between... what are my options?
Panasonic TC-P50C2. Manufacture date OCT 2010. Heard a click/pop and picture died and power LED started flashing 10 times pause 10 times......

Panasonic viera 42" plasma, model TH-42PV60A
IT STARTS SHOWING RED PIXELS ALL OVER THE SCREEN, SOMETIME SHOWS LIKE LAVA FLOATING.
Also the green led light blinks several time before the screen starts. ( i think 20 or 21 blinks all time)

Thank you
do you have idea where to buy a main board for TX-P42GT20L?
There was a short on the power connector on the SC board but no short on TPSC1
It could just be me but i dont know if the video specified what to do under such scenario.
i have followed your video to diag a failure in my panasonic plasma tv , very easy to follow thank you very much. I have a code 14 tv just shut off and won't restart .
I'm at the same point with the TPSC1, the video is not clear if this means it is the SC board or not at that point.

Thanks
Great video ! very informative Gonna go tear into it and see what happens

Pierce Nichols Wondering the same thing
+Pierce Nichols Were you able to fix it? I have the exact same issue.
I had the same issue, ordered the repair kit for the SC board and still have same issue any updates in this? Thanks
Hello.
thank you for the great video.
I have the same problem with the TX-P42X10Y plasma.
Also the red LED flashes 14 x.
Kyle Dooley They are not equivalent. Thanks! www.shopjimmy.com

I have a Toshiba tv model number 40RV525U and it will not turn on. It has a flashing green light that flashes about every second. Thanks for taking the time to help me with this problem.

Thanks
You should mention about replacing the SS board as well. It took out my newSC board.
When testing P11 do you test all three pins for a short or just the first one?
Hi,
Please can you advise, I have a Panasonic TX-48CX350B TV and I have no picture or sound although sometimes I can see the backlights showing behind.

Hi guys! Got the 14 Blink Code on a Panasonic TC-P50S30. I want to validate witch board I need to change after my test.
TPS1 is ground
SC2 is ground
P11 Vsvs is ground
My call is the power supply issue can you confirm that?
ShopJimmy.com I did this (because my tv's issue is now similar to Sergio's - solid red light) and got 8 blinks. New power board or A board?
PSC1 does not short regardless of what is connected, is it still likely my SC board causing the issue?
For clarity, if TPSC1 is NOT shorted, it means the SC board is what's bad? The video seems to skip passed stating this.
Good Afternoon,
I have a Panasonic Plasma TH-50PZ85U.

Hi, I have the 13 blink code. Could you tell me which board this refers to please?
I have a question I have a 2012 50" plasma Panasonic HDTV and the screen is broken and I wonder if other parts inside are as well wanted to know how much for a repair.?
Model No. TC-P46ST30. The TV stopped all of a sudden. I watched your video and did not find any shorts. I plug the power in and hear the click, then press the power button and only get a solid red light. I have replace the power board and the SC board and still have the same results...solid red light. Am I missing something? Thanks
Mine isis the Panasonic tc p46s30 model, (14 blinks)what would be the approximate charge to have this done for me by a pro?
Hello. I would appreciate if you could help. 14 plasma. The first study of the cold occurs mainly in white bright image orange ripple.

Model: Panasonic TC-P55ST30
Tested power supply at P2 like in video and ground pin shows no ohms and other pin has ohms so power supply is good.
Sorry tc-p42s30 is the model
Hello, i followed your diagnostic video and found no shorts. I continued to get the 14 flashes. I located a replacement tested main board and installed it. I still get the exact same 14 blinks. Is it likely that I received a bad board or should i just give up on this tv? Tcp50s30
Thanks for your advice

ShopJimmy.com Disconnecting the SC board I get 7 blinks. :\

Tc-p55st30 shows short on su and sd boards i think but when disconnecting power from sc and testing for ground it also shows a short... so do i need sc sd and su boards?
Hi, I’m not getting any blinking lights at all, no power. Should I just replace the power supply? Fuses measure fine and caps look ok, no bloating.
Bob, did you figure this out?
Gary, I have the same problem. What did you do?
