I chose linguistics by mistake. I should have chosen literature, and currently, I can't change my selection. I studied literature in high school, understand poetry, and can analyze it. Brother Walid, I can understand the situation you're in. The only thing I can think of is that you go to the administration of your faculty: beg them, talk to them, explain to them, do whatever it takes to change it. Engage properly. At least you will have done your best. Then if it doesn't happen, only then you have to accept the situation.
It doesn't matter what you choose. But studying linguistics will help you in the field of teaching because you'll be focusing mainly on language learning and teaching... Best of luck inshalah

According to my humble knowledge, you can apply to the master of translation even if you majored in linguistics and got your BA. (there is usually a preselection test)

To be honest I am confused because I' don't know the way we will study linguistics if I' choose it, in s2 we didn't study phonetics deeply but some profs did with their students, and in s4 we have only studied linguistics theoretically so I have no Idea about linguistics except so many Concepts on my head (linguistics models, definitions, differences...) However, I read stories and I enjoy doing so, I hope you got my point.I will do istikhara prayer inshaalah wishing Allah's guidance and help.
ِFor now, if you learned the concepts as you mentioned, that is quite good at this level, but expect to advance in the next year. If you can read, enjoy and analyse and understand things deeply, and that you like poetry, plays and novels, then literature is a good option. Otherwise, stikc to linguistics (I know it's hard to decide, but it is only you who can choose)
Sir I need your help if you please,I m clueless of what I should choose. I seem to enjoy literature a lot ,I enjoy reading poetry and novels , also movements especially romanticism ; however the the problem here I only get average grades as I am not that good in analysing quotes and writing literary essays. If you are willing to study schools of criticism and understand them, and if you are ready to take your time to learn about analysing and poetry understanding....Then choose literature. Thus, you must work a lot on improving your WRITING STYLE, because you will have to write a lot. Of course, it is hard to get high grade like 16 or more in literature, unlike linguistics, but it is a wonderful choice. I am telling you from my experience. Let me know what you choose in the end. Now you have had an ide abaout both of them: ling and lite. It is mainly up to you to decide. But if you choose literature, you have to work REALLY HARD on your language especially on writing, because you still make hard mistakes (i don't know your level yet, just from the way you wrote). Read a lot of stories and practice writing. Then go for literature if you have found ling difficult for you
