Great video as usual Stewey. I am addicted to them! 😂 Regarding your question as to why B6 is so successful in Jamaica, there are several reasons for that. 1. Diaspora: Both New York & Fort Lauderdale have a high concentration of Jamaicans residing there, so they definitely aggressively capitalize on that. 2. Where Montego Bay is concerned, B6 has a nice mix of both leisure and VFR traffic that results in their planes being mostly full year-round. 3. Flexibility: B6 has multiple daily flights to both destinations, so passengers know they can more than likely get on another one should they miss their originally booked one. 4. Perks: Free Wifi is a plus & this will attract passengers 5. History: When B6 started flights to Jamaica, they offered 1 checked bag free when the other majors were charging for all checked bags. This has changed now, but their loyal passengers are still stuck with them. 6. Customer Service: B6 in-flight crew generally have a friendlier vibe than many of the other majors and that also attracts passengers. 7. Reliability: Though they are not the most on-time airline, B6 is generally consistent with its operations in terms of maintaining its multiple daily schedules, so they have gained the trust of a large percentage of the diaspora. These are just some of the factors that contributes to their success in the Jamaican market I think.

@1STEWY I agree 100% Hartford is a route that should be able to work even a couple times per week into MBJ. Some carriers don't give a new route any time to develop.
Good morning Stewy. Jamaicans prefer direct flights and JB offers multiple daily direct flights into both KIN and MBJ. Although they're the most expensive carrier, people prefer the convenience.

Hi: I have never flown Jet Blue but what comes to mind on the mention of the name is that they had a landing gear problem. It might have been-JetBlue Flight 292 was a scheduled flight from Bob Hope Airport in Burbank, California, to John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City. On September 21, 2005, The flights I have travelled on are Air Jamaica and Air Canada and on December 31, 2002 I took a Chartered Flight from Toronto to Jamaica. There was a lot of turbulence and at one point a passenger had requested a cup of coffee and when he felt the severe turbulence he said "No bother with it" because probably he thought he would not survive the flight. A lady that was sitting beside me held on to back of the seat before her and kept praying. The airline was Skyservice. I dont think the pilots on that flight was experienced. At the approach to Norman Manley Airport the plane emerged from the clouds probably over St Ann. and I felt we were too close to the mountain tops.

@@1STEWY The problem with La Guardia airport in New York is the existence of a perimeter rule. This means carriers are only allowed to operate within a certain distance from there. This restriction limits them to mostly domestic flights within the USA not exceeding a certain mileage. It's for that very reason you won't see a La Guardia to San Francisco or Los Angeles flight Or a La Guardia to Montego Bay or Barbados flight. So it's unlikely Southwest will ever be able to fly from there to Montego Bay. Unless they modify those restrictions in the future.
